I am willing to: * hydrate * write down what I eat * never give up
The headache/TMJ/whatever it was that comes to visit periodically and has no name dissipated slowly starting about noon yesterday. It was pretty much gone by the time I went to sleep. It lasted over 48 hours. I am grateful it is gone and hope it doesn't visit again for a LONG time
Made lasagna from noodles, leftover eggplant sauce and the tiny bit of mozzarella left in the frig. Made a chicken in the pressure cooker and rice with the broth it cooked in. Made vegetable soup. Need to make some beans. Have much produce. Should have no trouble at all producing healthy meals this week.
My sister's husband is going in for a big back surgery (has had two fusions before this one - will redo and do more this time) next week. My thoughts will be with her next week.
Get to talk to children and granddaughters today and am looking forward to it. My son moved from Nebraska/Iowa where tornadoes happen and winters are fierce to Alabama near Mobile where hurricanes and other natural disasters occur and snow never happens. I am keeping an eye on hurricanes these days. My daughter is in Missouri so tornadoes could visit and snow storms do visit but she is far enough away from rivers not to have to deal with flooding.
BEE: Love the idea of us all jumping into your roomy willing wagon The video brought back a LOT of memories! Thank you
MJ: your comment about the sawing made me think of eating the elephant a bite at a time...how big is the tree you took out together?
ANN: Hope your fever is under control and you feel better soon. Glad you were able to get some sleep. You had me chuckling when you wrote that you needed a step-stool to get into Bee's Willing Wagon...I think I might need a catapult! Interesting that food calls you from the kitchen just like my food calls me. I loved the idea of changing my name to not hear the lure being sent out!
SUSI: I hope you enjoy every minute of your "me-time" with nothing that has to be done and nobody but yourself to cater to. What you outlined for the day sounds blissful!
LADONNA: I hope your job pays overtime for crazy work that required you to stay late. Sorry your team lost the football game but know the team learned what not to do next game. What happens at a fish fry? Sorry about the plantar fascitis. Hope the hurricane opts not to head your direction.
BECKY: Hope all is well in your corner of the world!
Audrey: Thank you - pain free is wonderful! I am going to close the curtains this morning...wonder now if being outside all Wednesday afternoon without wearing sunglasses triggered the headache...sun can do it...sometimes. How thoughtful of your son to assist the office manager who lost her husband with computer/tech things.
JUNE: Hooray for having the grading done so you can enjoy the long weekend!
PAM: know you had a lovely day with your family AND managed to rack up another blue dot!

Audrey Absolutely! September can be a great month!
Cathy Glad that the pain dissipated. Hope that your internet connection enables you to have a longer visit w/ yourfamily members this week. Will pray for your BIL and sister. May newer techniques may give him better results this time.
Hoping that Dorian does as little damage as possible and claims no lives.

π°White Rabbit!π°White Rabbit!π° It's September!
Yesterday's WW workshop was <meh> (LOTS of people away for the weekend) but the log-sawin' session at Son#1's was EXCELLENT - in just under four hours, we finished up all the logs that were too big for the loppers, too small for a chain saw, and JUST RIGHT for the deWalt reciprocating saw. So I wouldn't strain my wrist <hahahaha> I was the log bearer and stabilizer and Toots was SawMan. Son#1 and the Kressling worked on lopping and stacking. And Son#1 was also the lunch provider; I really did NOT want to drive out to Jersey Mike's (not in the mood for the traffic). While he was out, we finished up the cutting - good thing, since once we stopped there was no startin' us up again.
MissMouse invited us to join the Wagner clan at their birthday BBQ for DSonIL, but after we'd gone home and showered and taken a nap we realized that we really just wanted to stay home and watch NASCAR, and not be out socializing much as we like DSonIL's family. We were able to put together a good supper (pasta bolognese & salad for Toots, taco salad for me). And we only lasted until the end of Midsomer Murders - 9:30 PM - before we headed to bed.
Today I'm a bit achy (ya THINK?!?). We will have Sunday Steak Dinner and then are on-call for the Mice so MissMouse & Spouse can go out to dinner. NASCAR (Darlington SC) is the Bojangles Southern 500 (I LOVE that name!) at 6 PM. We can last until tomorrow and then make a quick grocery run (tomorrow, oddly enough, has a whole lot of Not Much on the schedule).
Right now? Need coffee... βββ... and breakfast... but mostly coffee, as I watch the early morning sky...
πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏ Have a healthy-eating day, all! πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏπ»πΏ
Countdown to the First Day of School (Weds 9/4): ππππ

Good morning girls. Going to be another willing aware and KOKO day for me. I slept a little better...for that I'm grateful. Becky thanks for getting us started. I shall also start on a positive note on the new month June enjoy your meal, sides and especially bubble bath Cathy so happy that your pain is gone. Cathy, we had a leader way 'back in the day' that used to say that to us. If food calls your name...CHANGE it...and it stuck LOL. Glad you liked that one MJ sometimes staying home just trumps out. Enjoy your steak dinner. Waving to all and will pop back in later. I need COFFEE

Happy September 1st Becky. Good goals to get going. June - Hope you slept well. Enjoy that brisket! September is always a good month Audrey. Kick it off right! Cathy - Prayers for your BIL. Glad your pain is gone. Enjoy chatting with your kids and grandkids today. We also had a small turnout. That's been the theme for the summer this year. I hope they all come back! Good job on the trees and being a little more kind to yourself. Love Jersey Mikes! Glad you had a quiet night and will have a somewhat calm day. Glad you slept better Ann. Enjoy that coffee I picked a lot of stuff yesterday so today will be transforming it. On tap are jalapeno poppers and chili relleno casserole for the freezer. More caramelized peppers for sandwiches. Baba ghanouj. My sister will get half the grape tomatoes. Possibly a fresh tomato sauce for a little pasta for me. And it will be a lot more sauce than pasta. LOL. Ferals have been fed. Charlie was a bit stubborn this morning but made it through. Off to spin, shopping and cooking. Pool time is likely. DGF stopped over yesterday so today she may or may not stop by. I slept horribly last night so possibly a nap will take place.

Count me in on Making September an OP month. Putting on the newbie hat today. Had a nice time with Randy's uncle and wife as well as other family and friends. Uncle Wayne did prepare me some grilled fish and it was wonderful! I also had some delicious catfish stew and a few hush puppies. Today I am skipping out on church. I have a big report I need to work on and some other things I need to get done. I'm also in the middle of a good book. Aunt Susie sent me home with a few of her favorites to read as well. I may need to save some of those for my beach trip coming up later this month. Becky, thanks for the start and I'm following your lead today and this month June, your dinner meal sounds great - good idea to lean up breakfast and lunch. Hope your watermelon is good. The last two I've bought has not been great. I think the season is over here. Audrey, I agree. Its time for a good month. I've been back and forth too long. Cathy, you've been cooking up a storm! All sounds delicious! Prayers for your sisters DH. My coworker recently had a fusion and it worked well for her. Enjoy talks with the family later I'm currently watching Hurricane Dorian. I live is SC. MJ, gosh no wonder you are achy! hope the not much on the sched for tomorrow stays that way. sounds like you could use a day like that. Ann, glad you are sleeping better. hope you have no pain today and that the antibiotics are continuing to work without causing any upset. Glad the weight is on the downslope Susi, sounds like a nice but productive day. the beach pics were so pretty and looked so peaceful. Bee, having a healthy stocked pantry is a great start for an OP week

Checking back in...
Mj Hooray for team tree cutters! Glad that your new "job" on the production line worked out so well. Agreeing w/ Susi, sometimes a nice hot bath & shower, your own homecooking, & TV trumps a party. Enjoy your NASCAR race & steak dinner.
Ann Ahhhhhh... a good's night of rest is a blessing. Glad that you had a peaceful night. Yippeeee... nice to see the post- surgery gain go "poof!" Encouraging to hear all the signs that you are recovering. Answers to prayers, for sure.
Susi Have also been meaning to say how mulch I love your new picture. Just lovely! Sorry that your night was a restless one. Hope you catch a nap later. Mmmm... i can almost taste that sauce!
LaDonna Am watching Dorian, too, and sending up prayers. Besides our nephew in Fl., our niece in NYC, my brother & his crew in Ga,, we have also been tracking weather where you, Mj, Susi, & Ann live. I can not imagine the congestation on the major routes like I 95 N.
So thoughtful of your uncle to grill some healthier options and that your aunt shared her paperbacks. We call those Twice Loved Books).
Bee Happy hunting in the grocery store!
