I do truly love my monkeys.
But this weekend is beginning to feel like they're jumpin' on trampolines balanced on pontoon floats in a wind-whipped lake.
I'm pretty much over it.

MJ, you need quiet and space. Our youngest is at the coast and the others are doing things with their kids. We don’t have to be together all the time. Also it is 101 now and all day I’ve been in shorts and a tee shirt with no makeup. It’s nice to not go anywhere. I need to remember Good Right idea.
Bee, the little ones like Annie’s Mac and cheese but we know it is not the real deal. DH is going to grill wild king salmon and I’ll make the eggplant casserole with an easy tomato sauce topped with goat cheese.

I don't want to be sexist but are you the only female who participates in the hard work? Most of the time yes, by choice. I've always been a tomboy. And Toots & I work pretty seamlessly together, as BOTH of our sons have said (on separate occasions) recently. And I think that MissMouse suddenly realized how often her in-laws are invited for a casual weekend meal... just sayin'... This race is just getting underway 10 PM-ish; I don't know if we'll be able to watch the whole thing. <dagnabbit>. |

That's so late for a race. Last week we noticed a West Coast major league baseball game started at 9 p.m. Fresno State's football game last night began at 7:30 but with all of the ESPN commercials it was over at 11:15 p.m.
Our younger daughter seems to do a lot more with her husband's family and we see them mostly if we invite them to our house for dinner as we are doing this week.
Our son is a gem. He came over with half a loaf of sourdough wheat bread he baked today. In return I gave him a can of chicken soup because his wife has an upset stomach. She's the produce broker as is under a lot of stress all the time making sure shipments arrive in perfect condition.
