Why can't they sell off their older program stuff? You see it on eBay all the time. Somebody might want to use the older materials rather than adopt the new plan. I don't know why it's a problem. People use older versions of WW for weight loss all the time, don't they?

Doesn't the UK WW normally get the new program before us??? We need to be watching their site for information, lol! That's right Laura, that is usually how it goes. Just checked over there and they are still showing Freestyle. Mindy might have changed things up though, after changing the company name NOTHING would surprise me. 🙄

I feel bad for those who will be lured into the fire sale and buy books, food scale, etc., thinking they are getting a bargain. Believe me, I fell for it many a times before I got wise. Though a good bargain on the food scale may be worth it for those who want to just weigh their food I hated this when I worked for WW. I used to try and hint that maybe the person should wait. I know I wasn't supposed to but I just felt so bad watching people spend money on something they were going to be able to use

We need to be watching their site for information, lol! I just checked Australia and the UK. They have the same messages we do: Freestyle is the best, the WW app is the best, Connect is the best....etc. etc. etc. ETA: sorry, DebDoesWW, I didn't see your post!

I posted this in another thread, but an email I got from WW today had this link about September in the Stewdeeooz. Food scales are 50% off…usually a very telling sign. This Page Here

Good for you for at least hinting. Since I do not work for Weight Watchers, I do try to discretely say something to people to let them know the reason for the big discounts.

People use older versions of WW for weight loss all the time, don't they? True, some of us do still follow older programs (Points Plus), but I do it voluntarily. My problem is that it is kind of deceitful on WW side to not tell people that the program is going to change. There are people who have never been through a program change and will be surprised to find out that the plan is changing. I have seen the shocked looks (mine included in the past) on people's faces when the program changes and they just bought items thinking they were getting a good deal only to find out it is obsolete.

Why can't they sell off their older program stuff? You see it on eBay all the time. Well, of course, they can do whatever they want. It is their business. But you don’t garner customer good-will by amping up the rhetoric about how great a product is when you know it will be obsolete very soon. Can it be used to continue following the existing program? Yes. Will everybody continue to follow the existing program? Obviously, no. Most people who are paying members just move to the new program and gripe about it or drop out if they don’t like it. I don’t think people would feel warm and fuzzy if they bought program food lists and a digital scale on Saturday only to find out that a new program, with new food lists and a new digital scale replaced them the very next day (Sunday being the day WW’s week starts). And, unlike MOST retailers, you can’t return WW purchases for exchange or refund.

The best place to go if you want your eyeballs assaulted by inappropriate photos from people who show no discretion!

Perhaps they know it's older material and want it anyway. For whatever reason. Maybe they actually like the program it represents. We can't assume people buying this information don't know what they are doing.

As I just replied to Zazzles, perhaps the people purchasing the older material actually want the older material. Let's not assume they don't know the program is going to change. Maybe that's the very reason they want the older material. They want to continue following the older program even when it changes. Not everybody embraces change.

perhaps the people purchasing the older material actually want the older material. Let's not assume they don't know the program is going to change. Perhaps including the statement that "the Program is going to change/be updated shortly" in the "wonderful SALE!" message would ensure that everyone makes their purchase, fully-informed... Caveat emptor, and all that... Heaven knows, I've re-pointed recipes in the cookbooks, over the years. But I wouldn't purchase a Guide to Dining Out & Shopping any more. And I've had two WW scales but for me they are just used to weigh food - I don't use 'em for points values.
