Affirmation: Slow and steady wins the race. Mind: Determined Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Composed Gratitude: Memories
Pleasant day today working on this and that, reading, relaxing. Not much else went on. Clair is a helper dog. Today I was looking for something and all of a sudden she started looking all over just like me. It was so cute! She helps Buttercup when her ball is lost so she transferred those skills to helping me. I thought it was interesting that she figured out what I was doing.
Cathy: As far as I'm concerned texting is for the birds since it's practically impossible for me to do it. Hope your computer gets fixed ASAP.

Affirmation: I focus on the positive
Mind: Open
Body: Healthy
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Honest computer shop that did not overcharge, thought of our finances, and provided speedy service.
It is great to be back online with a faster computer and all keys functioning. It is not so much fun remembering/replacing passwords and getting apps as they were before the crash. My daughter will, hopefully, have time to help walk me through some of the issues and fixes that I am running into. Maybe once her grades are in. In the meantime I am grateful to have the ability to read the books on the phone!
MICHELLE: My sister in northern CA said it is wet there, too, but she is thankful as they need water so badly. I hope this season will fill some of the reservoirs, lakes and ponds that were all too low earlier this year!

Affirmation: I appreciate every moment. Mind: Visionary Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Balanced and Free Gratitude: Heaters
We had snow this morning. The dogs just loved it! My husband did the first round while I stayed in the house. Later I shoveled again, did the bird feeding area and got the quad cleaned up so I could take the dogs for their runs. It was just so lovely to look at.
Cathy: It's nice that your computer issues are on the way to being resolved and that you have someone to help you with them. Clair tried to get inside the TV again when she was watching her DogTV channel.

Affirmation: Believe -> See
Mind: Focused

Spirit: Positive
Gratitude: Having a roof over my head
I still have not figured out what is wrong with adobe digital editions and when I asked my daughter she said she has no idea what we did last time to get it to work but does remember it took time and wasn't easy. I might just read on my phone instead? ICK! Whatever...maybe it is a sign to STOP READING SO MUCH...I have plenty to read and other sites I can download from so???
MICHELLE: I love that you have heat! We have it but seldom use it. There are times I give in and turn it on in one room and close myself in BUT then leaving that room feels even colder for some reason. I LOVE that Clair tries to get into the TV BUT hope she doesn't hurt herself of the TV Do the dogs like the snow?

Affirmation: I boldly embrace change. Mind: Steadfast Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Balanced and Free Gratitude: Innovation. So much has changed in my lifetime and for the better! I spent some time doing home chores and then office chores. I am enjoying my simple holiday season which entails practically nothing. I remember my mother talking about her childhood, living in a remote mountainous part of Idaho. She actually did get an orange in her stocking and that was the highlight of Christmas morning for her. Also I remember her telling me about the first time she saw a car. It's just incredible how things have changed over the years. Cathy: Clair gets right up next to the television screen, tries to get in just by touching it and then starts looking around for where the dogs could be in the house. The dogs absolutely love the snow and this cold weather! They have so much fun on their runs and playing in the yard. We use space heaters also so most of the house is quite chilly requiring a daily incredible clothing layering scenario. Fortunately I have lots of clothes

Affirmation: I am able to do anything I truly wish to do Mind: Focused Body: Healthy Spirit: Content Gratitude: warm clothes to wear and blankets to cover up with on colder days.
The jeans my daughter sent fit with room at the waist to tuck shirts in BUT they are skinny jeans so am thinking they might be better with longer tops or a longer sweater or jacket if out and about.
MICHELLE: Love that the dogs enjoy snowy days and am glad you have plenty of layers to put on...space heaters help BUT we have one electric one and that is only good if/when there is electricity. We have one that runs on propane but have not used it in a few years...wonder if we will this winter? I had the music playing and someone singing and my cat was curious about where the person was...sniffed the phone...then went back to eating.

Affirmation: I am a filled with sunshine. Mind: Uncluttered Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Connected Gratitude: My little brother.
Errand day and an appointment today. Also had an instant replay of the snow shoveling. This morning's batch had a much higher water content than yesterday's. I received an email from my brother which made me happy.
Cathy: Your cat story was delightful. Sometimes when I deeply listen to a song I can't believe how much more meaning it has. Today I was listening to "Catch a Falling Star" by Perry Como and this happened. We have two little propane heaters now. I am so glad I bought them as I don't like kerosene heat. Our big heater is electric so when the power goes out we have to use alternative heating which is necessary when the temps are well below freezing.

Affirmation: My life is filled with wonders Mind: Curious Body: Healthy Spirit: Strong Gratitude: Village generator that picks up the slack with electricity (govt giving less than four hours daily!)
This morning I was looking out the kitchen window and saw two brown pigeons strutting about looking, I think, for food. I don't know where they live but have a feeling they, and others, were released by their humans because it is too expensive to feed them any more. So, they come to our yard and find places to nest and food to eat...much to my husband's dismay when they eat the vegetables he tries to grow. We are going out and about to exchange dollars for lira, pick up a few things we need, and perhaps do other things. It will be a good if cold and wet day today!
MICHELLE: I found sound cloud on my phone and listened for awhile to music but find that the words can take me away from what I am reading so don't listen to music as much as I once did. I will have to look for Catch a Falling Star and listen to it. Oh...we are out of cat food so I gave Bella a bit of tinned tuna...she gobbled it down. I wonder if tuna or cat food is more expensive these days?

Affirmation: I walk on the sunny side of life. Mind: Determined Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Whimsical Gratitude: My health.
It was zero degrees this morning and we are headed for another really cold night tonight. Brrr... Today I spent some time getting a number of stash and dashes cleaned up and have more to do tomorrow. If I remain diligent I can get al these loose ends under control which would be wonderful.
Cathy: I can't listen to music with words either when I work. My favorite instrumental music played very low is Beegie Adair when she plays the piano solo. It's just very lovely. BC was throwing a fit because according to her, her Daddy was late coming home so I called him, put the phone to her ear, and he talked to her. It was cute because she started looking all around for him. Best of al she quit crying and barking.

Mind: Open

Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: Peace and contentment
Hope to talk to our daughter today. Weather is cold and wet. I am wearing blankets and a scarf on my head and without electricity for 2 hours this afternoon it was rather dark...even with windows open. Glad my devices are charged and I have things to read!
MICHELLE: How cute that Buttercup was perhaps calmed by hearing your husband's voice. I am glad a phone call did the trick! Hope he mad it home safely and was greeted with joy!

Affirmation: My new theory of living is improving my life and it shows! Mind: Motivated Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Refreshed Gratitude: This life.
Today I managed to get a number of items completed that had to be mailed. My husband and I drove to a small city near us and dropped them off at the post office. We went for a drive and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Cathy: Did you make ponchos out of one or two of the blankets. I checked out the YouTube to see and there was a lady who cut a whole in her blanket. This was actually pretty interesting! She made the back longer to accomodate her backside. Maybe if they are thin blankets two could be made and then both put on. Another fashion must! I know they are worn in Peru in the winter. It would be fun to make one. She had a shirt on with a collar and she pulled the collar through so the unfinished construction could not be seen.

Affirmation: Life is what I make it...and how I choose to see it
Mind: Curious
Body: Adaptable
Spirit: Wise
Gratitude: I am grateful that I chose to start back on program in May of 2020 and not today! ALSO grateful that whatever I did to try and fix the adobe digital editions app that I use to read books on for review purposes...worked...am back up and reading on the laptop again.
It is windy and chilly but the sun has come out today SO we will have hot water for showers later on. We talked to our daughter yesterday and hope to talk to our son and his family today. I will do some kitchen work later and make a meal (no idea what but have some ideas) and then get on with my reading. I liked the current author's first two books in the series better (so far) than this one but hope it will grow on me. I realized that I have backup ways to read books. I was frustrated by not having the reader working after the computer was "fixed"so did some workarounds and was reading on the small phone screen. I thought about how I have backups for coffee in the morning if we don't have electricity or hot water or whatever...
MICHELLE: The blankets I was wearing were over me on the couch. In the house I wear fuzzy or fleece warm pajamas with fleece robe, slippers and socks and sometimes a hat or scarf. I do have some open front blanket ponchos but they flap and get in the way when working...could belt them maybe? Hmm.... With all the layers on it makes cooking and doing dishes and such awkward so sometimes take them off and hope to stay warm. If I were to make one I would use the couch fleece feel ones that don't unravel, I think BUT as I have two already and a wool one, too, I probably won't bother.

Affirmation: Stop and smell the roses along the way. Mind: Balanced Body: Arms, Walking, Yoga and OP Spirit: Contemplative Gratitude: The beauty all around me.
We had pogonip this morning making the bushes and trees beyond beautiful. It is a frozen fog, formed in the coldest weather in the mountain valleys of only Idaho, Nevada, and Colorado. The ice crystals form on all the plant life. Incredible!!! Cathy: There are so many really cute ponchos. My sweaters bother me sometimes if they do not have buttons so I use a big safety pen to keep them closed. Or the sweaters will have zippers that don't seem to want to work so I use the safety pens for them. It seems I recall a circle skirt made in somewhat the same way. It's very cold her right now so a coat and many other layers are required for going outside. I wear a lot of clothes in the house including fingerless half gloves. However the worst possible weather in my opinion is the terrible smokey days to the point where it is recommended to stay indoors for safety. We had lots of those this last summer so I am very glad winter is here.
