It is warm. The electricity is gone so the fan is off. We have three hours and it will return. I have white beans cooking in the pressure cooker, tea brewing to become iced tea, and a review to write before starting the next book.

Affirmation: I am satisfied, content and centered. Attitude habit builder: Positive and Perserverent Body: OP and Functional Fitness Spirit: Celebrating all this world is Gratitude: That I have a home and it is paid for
Tonight I thought about taking things for granted, what I have in my life that is so normal that I don't even notice they are there. It's obvious that I am grateful for family but I take it for granted that they are there--just an example. I never really think about others who have no family. Well, it's just an example and not a very good one but I hope I have made my point. I need to think about this concept of "taking things for granted" more and in different spheres of my life.
Cathy, You have the best "Spirit" words. I am going to go back through the posts and write a lot of them down to broaden my concept of "Spirit".

The Wednesday cards are on Thursday this week. I will do a few things before going then enjoy the afternoon. Yesterday I washed pots, pans, plastic and wiped down counters for over an hour...I tend to let it build up then plow through it all.
MICHELLE: I google "positive Q words) and choose a site to look through then pick and choose from the words...probably could not come up wtih all of the words without a list. That said...it does stimulate thinking (in a positive way) to do this exercise periodically!

Affirmation: I am satisfied, content and centered. Attitude habit builder: Polite and friendly Body: OP and Functional Fitness Spirit: Peaceful Gratitude: Apple Pan Dowdy.
The dogs love to go out in the yard in the evening with me. When I ask them if they want to go out to Apple Pan Dowdy they get up and go outside right away to the part of the yard that has the apple tree in it and some wonderful big bushes that make it feel very secluded. The quail and their HUGE families parade right by outside the picket fence from the feeding area to their night abodes which are the pine trees in the back planter.
Cathy, Hope you had a fun time playing cards. I agree about taking the time to find those words. It takes effort to do so and I find your posts very creative. Also I can count on positivity here which is greatly appreciated and uplifting!

Today was errand day for me. Such a difference doing the shopping in the low 70s versus 102 which is what last weeks shopping day was. We even had a little rain. Tomorrow my new work computer will be installed here at home. Hopefully the project will get 100% completed.
Cathy, Glad you had fun with friends. Life is so different post vaccine. I am seriously grateful for the improvement.

Affirmation: I am the Stupendous Star of my life
Mind: Sane, Sometimes Serious, Sagacious
Body: Steadfast & Steady, Splendid
Spirit: Strong, Sensible, Sincere
Gratitude: Sunrises and Sunsets, Shade on a Sunny day, Sunshine after the rain, Some Songs, Seasons that change, my son and and siblings
Yesterday it took twice as long to run errands because we went by the bank more than once trying to hit a short line at the ATM - never happened so made several loops. Did finally finish but never did make it to the bank. Might go today. Might go to Beirut to work in the apartment tomorrow.
MICHELLE: This morning I went out to find a place without wild bees to give Bella some food. When I took my reading glasses off the "click" triggered her to think it was time for Frontline and it was time for her to run away - she doesn't like application of Frontline. I showed her my empty hands, sat back, and she settled to eat. We currently have elongated plums, wild tiny plums, pears and figs from our trees. Not sure what comes next.

Affirmation: I activate and use my Science of Mind powers. Attitude habit builder: Wise and Carefree Body: Total self care Spirit: Rejuvenated Gratitude: Family Today I worked at home with the Admin Assistant on getting my new computer 100% functioning. More needs to be done but we are almost there.
The arrival of the big snake that moved into the yard a while back was sited by Clair and Buttercup just outside the back door. I got a plastic tub, threw the tub over it and then used my packing tape to cover with cardboard by slipping the cardboard under the tub. The snake escaped a few times but I was victorious finally. Then my husband and I walked it out of the property and hopefully it won't come back. I have seen it a time or two but never to where I could catch it like just now. Thank goodness my husband was in the area otherwise I would have had to work a lot harder by myself to corral that critter! Cathy, Aren't pets much more intelligent than we give them credit for. Bella sounds delightful .

Affirmation: Teamwork transforms towns (hopefully for the better)
Mind: Tolerant
Body: Talented
Spirit: Tenacious
Gratitude: Talented Teachers teaching tenaciously
I am tired. We were up early to drive to Beirut, spent nearly three hours packing and carrying items to the car, now need to empty the car and go through it all again. Ugh! Need a shower but not till we finish unloading the car AND need to talk to granddaughters...probably before the shower.
MICHELLE: I don't try to remove snakes. Some poisonous ones too close to or inside the house have been killed but I usually let them slither away knowing they won't bother me unless I bother them. Was the big snake you caught and moved black? I would NOT try to catch a poisonous snake! Will the snake stay where you put it or will it return?

Affirmation: I activate and use my Science of Mind power every day. Attitude habit builder: Realistic and focused Body: Evidence of total self care Spirit: Unique Gratitude: Lovely summer days I had such a relaxing pleasant day while accomplishing some tasks that I had put off, including grooming Sam the Collie. Cathy, I need to make sure that no snakes hang around so that the dogs get used to them. This reduces the chances that they will engage a rattlesnake. They do get annual rattlesnake toxiod vaccine which the emergency vet told me would increase their chances of living if bitten. So snakes are removed somehow from the environment as soon as possible.
I was reminded of the childhood experience of taking a clothes pen and putting a playing card between the spokes of my bike to make sound effects. It brought back very pleasant memories! Onward>>>>

Affirmation: Unwinding is Uplifting
Mind: Unstoppable
Body: Unique
Spirit: Unlimited
Gratitude: Unification of like minds, unlimited horizons, unfettered thoughts, unexpected positive surprises,
I find that the U words are mostly "un-" words and wonder if using them will encourage the universe to see the "un" first and go with it or see the rest of the word and go with THAT? An well...
Yesterday I was up EARLY, drove to Beirut, sorted and packed items for three hours, drove back, ate, unpacked, showered, talked to granddaughters, and was in bed by 9-ish and slept through without getting up for anything till...wait for it...7:30 this morning. I have not slept like THAT for a LONG time! I must have needed it AND been dehydrated to make it through the night without getting up! Today I am doing laundry (one load) and it seems we are receiving water so THAT is good! We gave the OLD washing machine to the gate man and I also gave him an old food processor that used to work when we lived there...no idea if it still does or not. We had a FULL car on the return trip. May need to make a few more trips to Beirut but...not sure when.
MICHELL: I can see why you would want snakes away from your yard and why eradicating them one way or another for the dog's sake is wise! I have never done the cards in spokes of bike wheels before but have seen it on TV, I think. We found squirt guns in the apartment and a LOT of other things...figuring out what we might still want was...hot, dirty, tiring work but also interesting.

Spirit: Venturesome, well-Versed in a various things,

Relatively quiet day yesterday. Did one load of laundry, hung it on the line, brought it in when dry, folded it, and put it away. After the marathon sleep Sunday night...Monday was harder to get to sleep and having a big noisy party in the village didn't help. Not sure what today holds in store but do have books to read so know I won't be bored.
MICHELLE: Hope your furry family members provided joy and delight at some point in the day.

Cathy, Your V's were such fun to read! The next door neighbors have had live bands etc. I am pretty sure someone complained as they have toned it down many decibels. Personally I like it since it is Mexican music and for some reason the tuba is VERY popular. Ompa, Ompa, Ompa.

Today I started cleaning up the latest expansion of the firebreaks. It's a quite a job job but when divided up into much smaller sections it will get accomplished. Errand day for me tomorrow. I might take a couple of classes at the community college. One is about spirituality and the other is first aid for pets.
Cathy, Hope you had fun with your friends!
