Affirmation: I am varied
Mind: voracious
Body: vital & valiant
Spirit: vibrant
Gratitude: vegetables
Still no water from the main source. Hubby is following up on it this morning. Still hot with fans working 24/7. No idea what today holds in store. I have a TON of zucchini to do something with...not sure what I wll do with it, though. Since we don't have eggs...perhaps try a vegan egg replacement and make a quiche? Hmm...
MICHELLE: Hooray for getting rid of the firecracker bushes and having a plan to get rid of the A-Bomb bushes!

Cathy, So sorry about your water woes. You are getting close to the end of the alphabet, too bad I really enjoy your alphabetic posts.
Today, I managed to get the posts for the farm gates and the enclosures by them painted. Actually I had to use the paint slopping technique to get the country problems covered up. However the area looks so much better. Also dug out six watering troughs for the big pine trees. I have had to really work hard to keep those gigantic things hydrated since the last thing I want is exploding pine trees if a wildfire comes near so this was my EMP activity for the day.

Affirmation: I have plenty of time! Mind: Strategic Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Peaceful Gratitude: Prepared food
I worked on the Atomic Bomb bushes today and managed to get two removed. So I am 2/9ths completed on this project. Also attended the weekly wildfire Zoom meeting. This one was about evacuating animals and pets. I did learn some helpful things so I was glad I tuned in. I think there are three more of these Zoom meetings.
Cathy, I hope your internet started working again.

Affirmation: Universe delivers miracles. Mind: Simplified Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Enthusiastic Gratitude: Lovely fall days
More work on the A-Bomb bushes yesterday. Now I am 4/9s completed and consistently moving ahead getting my EMP items done. It was a lovely, cool fall day yesterday. This morning there was ice in one of my bird baths. Today I am taking Buttercup to the Vet for some of her annual shots.

Another bush was completed. I have 10 rather than nine. So I am 5/10s completed. Buttercup made it through the ordeal with the vet. Her old trainer happened to be there so she worked with her on BC's shyness. That was fun.

Affirmation: I persevere Mind: Open Body: Hot Spirit: Listening Gratitude: Phone and Internet working again
It has been crazy. The water situation is still iffy and they seem to have connected us to a line that is not with the other neighbors so could be why we are not receiving water BUT they also are not giving to our village as they should today because they are "inspecting" things. Argh. Anyway...it is still warm and humid and life goes on. I have a LOT of book reviews ready to upload and will get started on that before lunch. Lunch today will be soup and sandwiches, I think, and I will throw in some brown and wild rice OR not...it depends.
MICHELLE: It sounds like you are making progress with the fire hazard removal plan. The fires are crazy this year!

Cathy: Glad your internet is back up and sorry about the rigamarole about the water.
Today the smoke was off the graph so I spent the day in the house doing much needed chores and it certainly is improved! Tomorrow more of the same is forecast so I will get as much done as I can of my long list of indoor items. I have worked outside for three weeks in the smoke but this stuff is just too bad to be able to be out in it for any length of time. The lemonade is that my piled up indoor chores are getting done.

Affirmation: I am wonderful
Mind: wicked witty
Body: works
Spirit: wistful
Gratitude: wholehearted
Still warm...still humid...eager for the weather to change. I have taken garbanzo beans from the freezer to make hummus or a pureed bean salad using green peppers, tomatoes and onions. Will see which I am more in the mood for when the time comes.
MICHELLE: My sister went out for a walk yesterday in the dark smoke of Chico, California. She said her mental health needed it and hoped her lungs would be okay. I am sure she took her labradoodle with her and they did make it home so guess it went alright. Anyone who says climate change is not real is...nuts! I am glad you are making headway on the indoor to-do list since being outside is too smoky to be out in.

Cathy: I loved your Ws!
Today I had fun putting up some shelving. Normally I ask DH to do it but decided that I could handle it. I did have to watch one YouTube video but otherwise got the job done. I used the level and also the cordless drill. I found using the drill exciting since I have not mastered that power tool yet but now I am on my way to using it successfully.

Affirmation: I am not xenophobic
Mind: My mind is is xenodochial with most new ideas/beliefs
Body: I am not xeric if I drink enough water
Spirit: My spirit is able to adapt to xerophytic conditions when the religious climate is dry
Gratitude: X-words do exist for this exercise also...I won't be xx+xx+xx+x for another year and a half
It is amazing how much nicer it is when the internet is working and water is not an issue! The patriarch of a three or four generation family living near us died last night and the family asked if they had permission to close the road for three days so they can erect a large tent for the three days of mourning. We are not going out and about so it is fine with us. Not sure what the protocol is but do known we will not be paying condolences in person due to the pandemic. Talked to our daughter yesterday and will talk to our son and his family today.
MICHELLE: I don't think I have ever used a power drill. How marvelous that you are willing and able to do so! I bet you are ticking off one item at a time getting your list of projects finished up. Do you add to the list frequently or is there a day in the future everything will be completed?

Affirmation: I am committed to getting things done. I will not waiver. I will not quit. I can, I can, I know I can.... Mind: Flexible Body: Functional Fitness and Yoga Spirit: At peace Gratitude: These displaced birds. They are so cute!
Cathy, This is what popped into my head when you asked if I was going to get done: A man's work is from Sun to Sun, but a woman's work is never done. I am so grateful that I like to do physical chores because the EMP work has been very time consuming. Consequently the house work got set to the side.
Today, I rearranged furniture in three rooms, reorganized and cleaned. This wasn't on my list and it took hours to get done but I am really glad I did it. Tomorrow the wildfire near us is having a "wind event" so I may be able to work outside because the air quality will go back to awful as opposed to horrendous. There are all kinds of terms that the firefighters use which I am becoming familiar with since I watch the daily briefings about this fire. A "wind event" means that the wind will pick up and cause the wildfire to do bad things probably. For me it means that the smoke will kind of sort of blow away.

Affirmation: I am yummy
Mind: youthful
Body: yields
Spirit: yearns
Gratitude: years (lived and yet to live)
Talked to our granddaughters and heard their news. They are under hurricane watch as they are near the gulf. Our son is off on an international business strip for a week. I think that lunch will be mjudra (fried onions with lentils and rice or bulgur) with a salad...perhaps cabbage or whatever my husband brings in from the garden. We also have hummus. Started a "Western" with a bloodthirsty woman looking for revenge against her white father - who treated her and her mother from Siam badly...not sure what the middle is but started and read the end. Need to finish the middle or skim it to write the review. Then...hopefully something more fun. Plan to get some walking in today one way or another. It was great sleeping with the window open last night and the AC off!
MICHELLE: My sister is walking daily in spite of the air quality. She said she can/will walk when it is unhealthy but not when it is hazardous. She and her husband are going kayaking to get away and watching the wildlife when out on the water. Love hearing her stories. Those displaced birds may have found a new home I agree with you that work is never done! I keep thinking about ways to rearrange the furniture in our house but never do it even though I used to do it all the time when I was younger in other houses.

Affirmation: Slow and steady wins the race. Mind: Committed Body: Functional fitness and Yoga, OP Spirit: Free spirit Gratitude: The tiniest lizard I have ever seen
I was able to work outside on the A-Bomb bushes today. Managed to get two basically removed. The work is very labor intensive and I keep not being able to count how many I have to do. Not too sure why since they are quite large and easy to spot. Now I finally figured out there are 11 so at this point 7 have been removed making me 7/11ths done. Hopefully, smoke permitting, I will be able to get 2 more done tomorrow.
Cathy: I can't wait to see what you do the the letter Z. This has been fun to read.
