Affirmation: Willingness is the key that will unlock any door. Mind: On track Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Hopeful Gratitude: Rain and snow today I drove to town and got my shopping done today. This was much more pleasant due to putting in some thinking about this process and the ideas you shared. I took my Kindle and read my book while I ate my lunch in the car which made that more pleasant. Also just not being frantic and worried makes a difference. It just all seems so difficult. we are going to be seriously grateful when this is over! Cathy: It's wonderful that you talk to your daughter so frequently. Your post brought back memories of chatting with my DM. I just loved those conversations. We were simpatico.

Affirmation: I focus on the positive ~ Today is a fresh start
Mind: Agile Body: 20 minute walk + OP Spirit: Bright Gratitude: Thankful for an attitude of gratitude
The wind is blowing in rainy weather that will stay for a few days. I am glad we won't need to go out and about for a few days...though we might need some produce eventually. Our internet connection with granddaughters was cut for some reason and our son said later the girls had not told him and he was outside painting something (the house?). We told him it was fine and we would talk another time.
MICHELLE: How nice to have had a more positive experience shopping this time! I always take a book to read when out and about...just in case. I would rather have a book or Nook and not need it than be stranded with nothing to read. My sister did not get along with mom the way I did. Mom and I could talk about most anything though she was not an easy woman at times. I wrote to my sister via email one time and called mom "unfathomable" after she had said or done something and mom, of course, read the email...oh my! My sister and I sent emails back and forth OFTEN during the day. We don't talk on the phone but we keep in touch.

Affirmation: Slow and steady wins the race Mind: Thoughtful Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Reverant Gratitude: Opportunities
Today I spent most of the day relaxing, napping, reading my book. I think I might need to take the day after my shopping day off. I did get a few things done such as another cupboard's shelf liner, fixed my coat that I leave in the car, mended and toy, mini Home Blessing, and all the dog/bird regulars.
Cathy: I really do think one of the wonderful benefits of posting here daily is being in much closer contact with gratitude! Also, for me, it helps me to see the lemonade when the lemons of life rain down on me. Speaking of lemons turning into lemonade (sort of), I saw a picture of the first truck carrying the Covid-19 vaccine. It was in Michigan. I has so happy. It probably will be a very long time before normalcy is reestablished but it is just plain wonderful that it might be. My daughter will be one of the first to receive these shots and I am so relieved. It has been very hard on her to be a first responder working with Covid patients these may months. Hooray!!!

Affirmation: Healthy choices create a healthy me Mind: Strong Body: Capable Spirit: Open Gratitude: Sunshine between the storm fronts
Yesterday afternoon and into the early morning there were thunderstorms that had us unplugging the internet. The book I read was sweet and easy and a bit silly but a fun trip into the past that introduced me to characters that will populate the series. I was in bed early and slept well waking to a bit of sunshine before storms begin again. I think we are waiting to shop till Thursday when there should be more sun guaranteed. We have plenty of produce and pantry items to make delicious meals so don't need to go out at all.
MICHELLE: I am glad your daughter will be getting the vaccine in the first group to get them. My brother (anesthesiologist intubating patients daily) and my sister (retired RN giving out covid vaccines to first line workers) will both get shots in that first group, too. I don't know who else I know will be getting early shots but...am glad they will. I agree with you that posting here puts me in touch with all I am grateful for and also starts my day on a positive note. So glad we can do this together every day!

Affirmation: I have lots of energy! Mind: Entertained Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Reverant Gratitude: My health Today I finished the K shelf liner project. Hooray!!! I also spent time working on my Kindle. It is in serious need of decluttering and organization. I really don't even know how to put things in categories. Progress was made just figuring out my reading schedule. I have started finishing one type of book and then reading another type next. So for instance I read a current romance, then an international mystery on and on. This keeps me from getting bored due to reading the same types of books repeatedly. Well, I have a plan but will probably see if I can find a YouTube of how to operate all of the features. That might help.
Cathy: I have worked so hard at trying to stay safe during this pandemic. However I am over the moon happy about the thought that Clair and I can go back to Therapy Work sometime in the future. I need to be cautious about it though. This message board means a lot to me also.

Affirmation: Believe -> See Mind: Curious Body: Adaptable Spirit: Flexible Gratitude: Memories...each time I pick something up...I remember...
Another gray rainy day. I am enjoying coffee and looking forward to a quiet day at home. We have leftovers to reheat and plenty to keep us occupied inside. The cat is NOT happy about being outside but hopefully she will find a warm dry place to stay...she did last year.
MICHELLE: I have set up a few folders in my Nook for various types of books but usually put them into those folders after reading them. I wish that there was a way to organize by genre...I know you can by author or title but that is not always enough. I like your idea for reading order...unless you hit a series and want to read one after the other. I opted NOT to write reviews (or read all of) two books last night. I started them and thought, not for me, and wrote the feedback then moved on to the next book. I want to write a review for a cookbook on Mediterranean Recipes and another for a historical WWII murder mystery today and see what book is up next to be read.
I know you will wait to take Clair out for support duty till you can be safe but also know that getting back to "normal" will be something we will all enjoy!

Affirmation: I have lots of energy! Mind: Focused Body: Functional fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Grounded Gratitude: Noisy owl in the pine trees in the back tonight. Today I managed to declutter a few items. Also got the cabinets and drawers in the master bath cleaned out, organized and did touch up painting. Tomorrow I will put the shelf liner in. Also read my book more than I usually do. Cathy: The books that you read sound so interesting. I am hoping to get my Kindle under control but sometimes when I organize I have to do it in steps a little bit at a time since I have no idea how to best go about it. Five days until the Winter Solstice, I can hardly wait since the days will start growing longer again.

It is the end of the day. Errands were run, a flat tire dealt with...I am ready to relax and think I will skip the full story today. i am strong and ready to relax and am not defeated by long days.
MICHELLE: I don't know how to organize a KINDLE. I put the books in order alphabetically by author and read through that way when I got my sister's hand-me-down Nook. I also set up, one time, a section for "read" so I could see if I had read a book or not.
Last night was a female PI on a murder case set in Michigan...interesting but not the best I have read. Tonight I think I have nothing pressing SO can do my best to make up on the books still promised but not read/reviewed or read ahead the ones upcoming before the end of the year. Fingers crossed I can make headway!

Affirmation: Every day I clearly visualize the attainment of my goals. Mind: Visionary Body: Functional fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Peppy Gratitude: People with varied interests I just got out another puzzle for DH and I to put together which is something we enjoy doing. Today I got the shelf liner installed in the master bath and puttered around the house. My DB emailed me and told me that my niece got engaged to her boyfriend of many years. She is so spunky and fun to be around. Cathy: Sorry about the flat tire. DH was trying to get some wires put into his windshield wiper blade this morning and wanted me to help. I could tell that things were going south so I very smartly said I couldn't see the wires to get out of that situation. No need to deal with unpleasantries that are going no where. He took my car to town and managed to get what he actually needed with the wires already in it. Happy ending!

Well, phooey...just typed things up and hit delete instead of create post...silly me!
Affirmation: I am capable Mind: Open Body: Tired Spirit: Accepting Gratitude: Sunshine after gray days
I slept well in flannel sheets last night and put on a comforter that is wider than the duvet so it kept me cozy all night long! I am doing linens, towels and pajama laundry today. I need to start wearing clothes or they will all be too big to wear soon! I have a LOT of vegetables and now need to figure out what to make with them!
Michelle: You were smart to not see the wires in order to avoid negativity. I hope your husband is able to get the windshield wipers fixed on his car...maybe take it to someone on a clear day

Affirmation: Daily visualization helps keep me motivated and on track. Mind: Creative Body: Functional fitness, dog walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Rejuvenated Gratitude: My family is in good health
Among other things, significant cleaning went on in the guest bath today. Also I played cars and endless ball with Buttercup. She is really good at catching the ball and I have developed an ability to throw accurately from all this ball throwing which is kind of addictive. When DH and I walked the dogs tonight I showed him the deer tracks in the yard. They have to jump a fairly high fence to get in. I think they are getting in the bird feeding area and snacking at night since I saw some tracks in there the other day.
Cathy: When I started weighing daily my plan was to loose two or three pounds and then keep it off. However I ended up loosing more than that and did have to replace my pants since they were not wearable. The rest of my clothes were still OK. I thought it was worth it for health reasons pertaining to my knees. I can't believe that I have over three years of daily weighing. Just chatting..... I love sleeping in the cold in the winter!

Affirmation: Persistence not Perfection Mind: Open Body: Able Spirit: Bright Gratitude: another sunny day
Nothing exciting to share. It was a good day yesterday and I cooked a LOT of vegetables. I have white beans in the pressure cooker and will have some for lunch with veggies I slept with the window open last night...brisk and cool it was...and I loved it! Need to see what book is up next in line to be read and get cracking BUT will do dishes first before I settle in to read...they piled up!
MICHELLE: How interesting that the deer are able to leap high fences to get to the bird seed. You have enough for your many birds...will you feed deer, too?

Affirmation: Daily visualization helps keep me motivated and on track. Mind: Focused Body: Functional fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Free Gratitude: A beautiful winter day! I spent the day working on a bunch of miscellaneous items and really enjoyed myself. Spent some time outside raking up the little pine needles in the back and just loved the weather. I didn't even have to wear a coat. Errand day for me tomorrow and I don't have may places to go to so,thank goodness. Cathy: I quit feeding the birds in the afternoon so that no food would be left down for the deer to eat. Unfortunately, if they are fed the mountain lions come in to the area posing a very serious threat to people, livestock and pets. My DM was raised in the mountains. Her family kept a pack of Russian Wolfhounds so that the mountain lions would not get the small children or livestock. She had such knowledge of their behavior so I have always done things like keep the dogs in at night etc. following her advice.
It was such a lovely day today. The birds were frolicking in their baths. It is so cute! They splash around and then I go out and refill, they splash around and I ....

Affirmation: Believe -> See Mind: Tenacious Body: Able Spirit: Positive Gratitude: Weekend Skype chats with family
It is sunny and nice today. No plans except to talk to our son and granddaughters in the evening. We have plenty of leftovers so won't need to cook...just reheat a few things.
MICHELLE: I looked up Russian Wolfhounds and they are long and lean. I don't know if I have ever seen one in real life. You are wise not to lure large predators to your land by leaving food out for their prey at night! The birds sound like a LOT of fun. Did all that moved there with the fire stay?

Affirmation: Daily visualization helps keep me motivated and on track. Mind: Purposeful Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Happy Gratitude: Modern conveniences Today I ran my errands, came home and got everything put away. Then I decided to sit in the sun for a while. The dogs were playing with each other and DH was sawing some boards into smaller pieces so I could put some shelves in the back part of my closet for shoes. We got them put up. Also talked to DD. She received her first Covid vaccine. They text her everyday following up on how she is feeling etc since this group is the first to get the vaccine. She will get her second shot in January. Cathy:The bird population is kind of a mystery. It seems that probably several hundred Rock Doves have relocated but then about 100 showed up the other day. The number of smaller birds seems to have grown but it could be that they just now feel comfortable coming to the feeders. Definitely the Quail increased. The Starlings have told their friends so there are more of them. I would say that with the exception of the Rock Dove the number has increased. There are birds everywhere. I love it!
