Affirmation: Acceptance bring peace Mind: Open Body: Leaner Spirit: Eager Gratitude: Supportive friends and family
Nothing exciting to share...another sunny day, more of the same old same old during the day. I might try to make time to tackle something in the house or outside BUT am not sure what yet. I think it might be fun to go through some clothes...maybe? Hmm....
Yesterday I made soup, cooked pasta in tomato sauce with zucchini and added beans for one meal and had the soup for dinner. We have leftovers so I don't have to fix anything for lunch, probably. I made two portions of hot cereal this morning and as usual, my husband ate 2/3 of his portion and told me I could have the rest. I know he will do this so don't know why it always aggravates me. I count out my points for the meal and then...leftovers? He usually eats it for dessert later but it tempts me NOT to make any for him...naughty me!
MICHELLE: I know what you mean about "the joy" of clothing...and how it can make a person/me feel. When I used to get ready for Wednesday or a meeting or gathering I would select the outfit, think about the color I felt like wearing, choose accessories, put on a bit of makeup and look forward to being with others. Without that something-something to add spice to the day the clothes are more a necessity than a joy. I don't know if getting dressed as if I were to go out and about when at home would make a difference or not...hmm...
You will have so much fun at the dog class! What will you be focusing on?
We used to have a bird feeder at my mother's house long ago. The seeds would go into the St. Augustine's grass and build up under the ground making a big hill...mom took the feeder out because it messed with her lawn. What do you do with the seeds and such that you cleaned up under the feeder?

Affirmation: Feelings of contentment are my goal. Mind: New thought patterns Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: A willingness to try new ideas out
Another relaxing day doing a bit of housecleaning and then the day sort of disappeared. It has been very frigidly windy so I skipped being outside for any length of time. Worked on The Magic of Tidying Up spiritual concepts and did have some success. I will keep at it!
Cathy: The dogs and I are taking a class called Rally O,. It will be a refresher and a nice way for me to get ready to start taking Clair to Therapy Dog events sometime in the future. There are lots of learned commands and a course with signs the idea being that when a sign is approached the command is given to the dog and the dog does it. Clair is an advanced dog with these commands.
Your comment about the grass caused me to take a walk down memory lane. When I was growing up there were signs on the grass "Keep of grass" as though it would get destroyed from walking on it. It's comical the things a culture goes through sometimes. Now grass is completely walkable.

Affirmation: I choose active living Mind: Open Body: Moving Spirit: Content Gratitude: Weekend chats with family
I woke to sunshine and birdsong and knew that today would be a wonderful day. I have had a delicious breakfast, have plans for a tasty lunch and look forward to talking to what the day may bring. Tomorrow my husband gets his first vaccination and we will order some produce and pick up some groceries. Life is good!
MICHELLE: I have been looking more at sites with the tidying ideas that are related to the video you watched. I am contemplating the closet and doing the big purge-joy option BUT need to have it a bit warmer first, I think. I wouldn't mind folding the shirts, too, so they look neat and tidy in the drawers! I have plenty of shelves int he closet and wonder what should go on them? Hmm... It is a project for another day, though, as it is still a bit nippy and the idea of cleaning the shelves with cold water on a cold day does not appeal I am glad that the dogs are helping you clean...though...I am trying to figure out just how they do so

Affirmation: Feelings of contentment are my goal. Mind: New thought patterns Body: Functional fitness, Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: A willingness to try new ideas out My major project for today was raking up the pine needles on the left and right side of the house. I am succeeding at being extremely diligent about this. DH decided to do the left side so that reduced my work. Mission accomplished!!! I tried to feel joy about this but didn't succeed. Probably I would if live embers were dropping and those huge pine trees were not catching on fire.
Cathy: I am not sure that decluttering has any importance whatsoever. I think it is another fad like keeping off the grass used to be. Also who cares what the house looks like, not sure why that is important either. However if someone wants a clean clutter free home I don't think they should be judged or made fun of because of it. There seems to be a trend to do this or at least I have experienced it. I am working on having pleasant feelings of accomplishment when I do chores. Also there are some fun spiritual elements I would like to incorporate.

Affirmation: I am on the right path Mind: Accepting Body: Slimming Spirit: Encouraging Gratitude: Variety
Weather has changed...it is moving toward more rain and that is good...though chilly and soon to be wet. I do hope the trip to the vaccination site and the appointments all run smoothly. We have leftovers for lunch and are nearly out of vegetables that are fresh...but...think we will wait till tomorrow to order more unless we see a stand along the road and buy from them. It is fun coming up with new ideas for meals. This morning it was chard, onion, sweet potato, and a bit of beets with an egg on top...tasty and different for breakfast.
MICHELLE: I love the idea of finding joy in whatever we are doing whether it be cleaning, lazing, swimming, reading or anything else. So...here's to joy in the morning as I sip coffee and wriite this on our thread Also, joy in wearing REAL CLOTHES and accessories even if I dn't put makeup on or really doll-up ❤️

I am keeping my list so I can stay focused on this goal. Good news!!! The University asked for Paws4Love Therapy dogs for an event the first part of April. It will be outside and lots of Covid precautions are going to be taken. I am over the moon happy to be starting this work again!
Cathy: I hope all went well with the vaccine process today. I agree about creating feelings of joy. For me it is just remembering to feel the feelings since I get caught up in just getting things done....

Affirmation: I aim for consistency in achieving my goals
Mind: amazing
Body: able
Spirit: accepting
Gratitude: abundance
The covid vaccination went well. My husband said there were a lot of "old" people there...wonder if he doesn't think he, at 82, is old? Anyway, he said only the injection site is a bit sore if he moves or touches it so that is good. We picked up some produce on the way home and I also picked up some yogurt and labneh since I was nearly out. We are set for a few more days without having to buy groceries. Also, the lockdown is now in phase three so going out and about will be easier and permission needed only for some shops.
MICHELLE: How marvelous to be asked to come out with Clair to do some support therapy work in April! I need to take joy in the cleaning...wonder if that is even possible

My major accomplishment was spending more time working on clearing native vegetation so that the back gate can be created. Such a really lovely day! And the dogs were such a help--lifting my spirits because of their happiness.
Cathy: I agree. It's a really challenge to "Change my thinking, Change my life". in these areas such as cleaning. However progress is being made since I have started checking my moods. And I do notice a difference. Even the tiniest change is an improvement. Not that I am in a bad mood, just more like a robot racing through these chores. I see you have started on the a's--I love this alphabetic approach to life!

Affirmation: I bounce back from setbacks
Mind: Beautiful
Body: Boudacious
Spirit: Bright
Gratitude: Bountifulness
I wasn't going to do the alphabet thing again so soon BUT it is a focus for the morning, makes me think and is helpful in getting my day started. The sun is shining but hubby says it will be raining before the end of the day. Rain is nice so I won't complain. I will focus on the positive...started to write about the situation here in Lebanon and opted to instead focus on the positive and what I have control over. It will be an on program positive day for me!
MICHELLE: I am glad you are working on creating a back gate escape to your land. Is there a road back there? How often do you check in on your emotional status? I don't do it much at all and am curious. Do you have a rating system or??? I love the idea of the dogs helping you as you work on tasks.

Affirmation: Feelings of contentment and joy are my goal. Mind: New thought patterns Body: Functional fitness, Walking, Yoga, OP Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Gratitude: A willingness to try new ideas out Today was an instant replay of yesterday. More functional fitness and I am wrestling also with a Paper Tiger. I have the functional fitness divided into sections of about 2-3 hours each day. Cathy: Surprisingly Universe cooperated and the land owners behind us cleared their fence lines exactly as I had planned on driving in an emergency. So now all the native vegetation I was going to have to drive through is gone! I was doing my Happy Dance the day they did that!!! My affirmation etc is sinking in. Today I was rather unsuccessful but I am chalking it up to having the start of a migraine. But all in all I can say that the feelings of contentment are definitely more often there. Actually I am kind of impressed since this functional fitness is very dirty work requiring lots of crawling around on the ground, cutting one plant branch at a time over and over. Sort of a unique Zen experience. Onward>>>>

Affirmation: Contentment is mine (or I choose creativity)
Mind: Curious
Body: Capable
Spirit: Cautious (sometimes)
Gratitude: Creativity - mine and others (or I am grateful to be content with my life)
It is another gray day...a day I am getting a slower start with. Bank issues to address, dishes to do, books to read, signed up for a zoom session dealing with a beach town's history...now wonder what language it will be in! Ah well...I guess I will find out next week. The faux calligraphy class was interesting last night. I started a few books, gave up, gave feedback on why I would not read and have moved on from those books to another one. I hope to get caught up sooner or later!
MICHELLE: It must be wonderful to see the effort you are expending prove fruitful while achieving your goals. Attitude while working is not as easy to focus in a positive way and I admire your ability to do so. I am also glad your border-neighbors have cleared a path that will allow you to leave in a hurry should you ever need to do so!

I am hoping to wrap up the legal Paper Tiger work tomorrow. Or at least get through the most difficult parts. I finished getting the native vegetation chopped down that was in front of the gate-to-be. DH will work on the next phase this weekend, hopefully.
Cathy: Actually I do enjoy seeing the yard in such good shape and all the trees pruned so that I can walk through them and clean under them easily. Also I am looking forward to next summer since most items have been done now. However, there are always more. I do remember when I lived in the city and had nothing to do in the yard. I wouldn't go back to that but it is something to think about since I spend many hours out there now.

Affirmation: Dancing delivers delightful results while releasing enDorphins
Mind: dabbles with new ideas
Body: deserves healthy food
Spirit: digs into and delights in new ideas
Gratitude: Days...one after the other...each one brings something new and being grateful for each DAY is a joy.
Last night I got sucked into the wormhole of youtube...I went to see one thing and that had me seeing something else intriguing and then I wanted to know more about this person or that one and hour(s) later I realized I had not finished reading the book and went up to bed anyway. I still have today to read, right?
The sun is out again, I cleared off the breakfast room high-top table, and plan to eat lunch in there today. I might even take out the good china to use even though the meal will probably be rice and zucchini with beans...nothing fancy but fancy china anyway? We will see.
MICHELLE: I just cleared the breakfast room, found a radio that once played CD's and now doesn't and will ask my husband if he wants it upstairs or not. It does NOT find stations I would listen to but does find local ones. If he does NOT want it then I see it going down the road to someone else's house. Can you walk under the trees that you pruned to make clearing pine needles easier? That would be a HUGE success if you can!

Affirmation: Feelings of contentment and joy are my goal. Ho hum... Mind: New thought patterns - Excellent today!!! Body: Walking, Yoga, OP - 12,999 Steps Spiritual growth path: Letting it all go........... Hooray! This is consistently successful Gratitude: A willingness to try new ideas out Yes!
I am making definite progress with Letting it all go...... Also started commenting on my daily progress. Today I ran errands and did the weekly grocery shopping so having feelings of contentment on shopping days. I have been faithfully doing my morning journaling so today I bought some colored pens to spice it up. It will be interesting to see what happens when I use the lime green one.
Cathy: My goal with cutting those limbs was to create the ability to clean under the trees easily and I accomplished it. I developed a plan to be able to walk under two parts of the really big pine trees by cutting back the limbs higher in certain areas. Also if the trees are growing close together so I can't walk around all of them easily I just cut back the limbs, sometimes sacrificing beauty for practicality.
How fun to create an eating space and use good china! BTW, loved your list!!!

Affirmation: Efficiency is effective
Mind: Excited by new ideas
Body: Excels in doing what needs to be done
Spirit: Ebullient
Gratitude: Energy is there for me when I need it.
Sitting in the breakfast room at teh high table is great! I can look out the window, see the trees swaying in the breeze, hear the birds singing...just see more and take breaks more easily as I type. I have the fourth load of laundry done but need to wait for the stuff in the dryer to finish so it can go in.
I have worked on the drawers some more and have about half the scarves folded and in the drawer. The other half are slithery things that will require some thought. The duvet comforters are on the line after being washed and will go into clean covers once they dry. Life is good!
MICHELLE: I like the idea of you having an easier way under the trees. Having the trunk exposed must be nice!
