Popping back in before shutting down for the night. There must be 'something in the air' as my eyes are very itchy and I'm sneezing my head off. Allergies of some sort. My neighbor is the same way. We bumped into one another while picking up the mail and compared symptoms..... Pam I too got in a few good hood walks. Our weather is great. Not much in the way of sunshine, but not windy and good walking weather. I like when I need to wear a sweater Sounds like you had a very productive day. I applaud you for all you do with hospice. You share so much of yourself with others and I can just imagine how grateful those folks are having you in their life at such a stressful time. I hear you on washing floors during wet weather. Sometimes it's just impossible to keep a clean floor. I try......that's all I can do LOL. I also feel for you having had your last honey crisp apple. I had mine yesterday and feel the same way. Those are awesome...and keep me from 'digging into' things I should NOT be digging into I did have a nice laid back day. I read a bit...and then decided to straighten out the back room where we have our computers. I tend to have a 'paper pile up' going on at times...so I went through it all and sorted it all out. Looks much nicer in here now. Sue happy that you found Bare Minerals work for you. That made me break out for some odd reason. Hopefully you'll find something that speaks to you at the other Khol's. I love Amazon shopping for that same reason. No questions asked for a return and it's quick painless and easy LOL. I'm all over that. Your supper sounds delish. Carl stopped and picked up chicken parm for supper while he was out in his travels. I forget where he got it...someplace in Gardner. Mine was not fried and had minimal cheese. I ate half, passed on the garlic bread and ate half the pasta. I made a tossed salad to go with it. It was very good and tasty. The rest will be frozen for another time. Amazing the portions they give you....then they wonder why Americans are over weight...... I'm smiling over your fox story Well, I best get a move on. We'll walk LuLa once more while it's still light out. Take care all, and enjoy the rest of your Tuesday

Good morning!
It was cool enough this morning (40's) that DH turned on the heat. It will warm up to the 70's by the afternoon, so I will be able to open windows again. Yesterday, we opened the back door, which has no screen, to allow a cross draft. DH apparently didn't close it as it began to get dark. I came back from RCIA about 7:30 to find a number of mosquitoes inside. I managed to swat several as we watched tv. THAT won't be repeated today, lol.
I had a fruit bowl, yogurt and flax/chia blend for breakfast. Not sure what lunch will be. Dinner is shaping up to be cheeseburger soup from the freezer and brats with cabbage slaw for a side, though there has been some discussion of chicken tacos.
Today, I plan to join the choir for a funeral at 11:00. I didn't know the man, but I feel strongly that music is an integral part of a funeral. And one of the corporal works of mercy is to "bury the dead", so I will gladly give up and hour and go sing.
This afternoon I have the task of picking up Jude, Anna & another runner from cross-country practice and ferrying them home. We will swing by after-care and pick up Abby. Once home, I will get them started on home work, baths, etc. until their dad gets home. DD1 is attending a hospice conference in Biloxi, MS until Friday, so tomorrow will be a repeat of today. I will miss the credit union board meeting, but the VP will carry on in my place. I very rarely miss a meeting, so I don't feel bad. Normally, DH would step in and drive the kids, but he is wrapped up in a history project for the local STEM academy that takes place tomorrow.
The scale is slowly creeping down, so I am motivated to continue my strict regimen of exercise and healthy eating. Onward and downward!

Pam your meals sound tasty. Nice of you to pick up the kids. Happy it's not a problem to miss the meeting. Awesome on the scale going down. We will be leaving here at about 1 pm for the 3:30 appt. Will have a lite lunch before we go and will stop to eat after the appointment. Waving

Hearing test went well. The doc suggested that he get 2 hearing aids. Seeing as he is a Veteran, she suggested he go to the VA as they will either be free or at a much reduced rate. We'll see how he feels about that. In the meantime he heard from his PCP and the surgeon wants him to get a cat scan of his hernia site before he goes to meet with him on Tuesday. Of course, they wanted him to go Friday which he can't as he is involved in grand jury...so the appointment is scheduled for Monday. I'm a wreck thinking of all this. Please keep him in your prayers. Going to shut down now. It's been a very long day.
On a happier note...we did eat lunch out and both ordered Reubens They were to die for! Nothing like good corned beef and pastrami. Yes it was the sodium bomb and I'll pay the price tomorrow........

Ann - So sorry to hear of all Carl's problems. Share this with him and strongly encourage him to get the hearing aids recommended. www.alzheimers.net/?s=Alzheimer%27s+and+hearing+loss It's a good idea for so many reasons. Why take chances? I hope the hernia problem has a quick and simple solution.

Good morning all. Slept fairly well. Pam thank you so much for the site. I shall most definitely share it with Carl. Also thank you for your concern re: the hernia. I'm a nervous wreck.
Waving and wishing all a pleasant and OP day.

Hi friends,
Happy Thursday, and it’s a beautiful one here today. I walked a bit at noon. The leaves are still pretty and it’s cool, crisp and sunny! Perfecto.
Pam, I am always amazed at all your activities and those of your DH’s, too! You two should win the civic minded prize for all that you do for your community. I hope you do get honored in some way. There are not many out there like you, too. However, your DD1 must be following in your footsteps with all the hospice work, too. It’s wonderful.
Ann, I hope you had fun with the walks. Your chicken parm sounded great. One of my faves. Funny but I had trouble with Bare Minerals, too. For some reason, and it could be my own application skill, it seemed to settle right into my pores and did not look good at all. Very drying, but I have very dry skin so I really need something not matte but moisturizing in a liquid foundation. I am liking the IT brand that I get at Ulta for foundation. It’s a CC cream with all the anti-aging stuff. LOL
I’m glad you found something you love, Sue. I’ll check out that moisturizer. How frustrating about your Amazon order, but they do make it easy to return. I sometimes think I make a living buy and returning stuff there! I ordered a set of stairs for D&D so that they could walk onto our bed at night. I worry about them jumping off and breaking their backs from the height. However, both scared-y cats are too afraid to use the steps. Ugh. It might take some training with treats to get them going so I won’t give up yet, and besides, I already put the treads on the stairs so I doubt Amazon will take them back. I’ll wind up giving them away if all else fails. They are nice because they fold up.
Ann, my 99 dinner did not go as planned. I looked over the menu and decided to have a chicken pot pie. Not the least caloric but at least I knew the total calories. And somehow they seemed more manageable than some of the other options. However, when I got home and tracked my points, it came out to…..drum roll….are you ready for this crazy number??? 53 yes FIFTY THREE points. I tracked it all and used up all my weeklies. Live and learn, but now I know and I feel good that I tracked it no matter what. Good grief!! Everyone had the same thing.
I had my TOPS/STARS gathering today and it was good to see the crew. I realized I need to set a goal in WW. I don’t think we ever set one. How the heck will I ever become FREE of paying if I don’t have a goal. Thank you all for the encouragement on the big picture and not allowing a blip to cause me to quit.
TTFN. Have a great day.

Holy cow, Judy. What the heck was in there for 53 points? ? But at least you looked it up, enjoyed it, tracked it and moved on. That's the important part...the moving on I would always go higher with setting the goal so that you can reach it, get lifetime status and you can always go lower on your own. I know for being 5'3" my high end is 141 and I kept it there. They also give you the 2# 'grace weight' so technically I could get up to 143 and still be free! Yes it's a beautiful day. Carl went to pick up the stuff to drink before his cat scan on Monday. Poor guy has to get up at 5:45 to drink the first bottle...then drink the second one 1 hour before his appointment which is 8:45! Thank goodness the hospital is just down the road from us. Judy Luigi wouldn't use those steps either. I ended up keeping them, and finally I gave them to a neighbor with the stipulation of it it doesn't work for her I do NOT want it back LOL. Wishing all a great rest of your day.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! We have had a great morning so far. DH and I met up with our MSU student and her mom for breakfast this morning and a great conversation. We were making plans for her graduation in December. Then I came home and found that the email server that I thought I "fixed" yesterday was not fixed at all. But I called my Tech and he had free time and walked me though redoing the settings. They updated our server for greater security and though my email carrier would receive, it would not send. Now it does both and I am very happy!
I need to make a Costco run today so I think I better go earlier rather than later, and get back here. Then I have to put everything away. Then I need to think of something for supper.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good Friday morning! The weather is cool, but we will be in rain all day. I went to early Mass, came back and climbed into the lazy boy with a blanket, a cat and a cup of coffee and have been here since. DH just prodded me saying, "We can't just sit here all day!" which was pretty much MY plan, lol. Anyway, I have mapped out a menu for the week, so we will go grocery shopping, gas the car and buy a new box fan, since ours died yesterday. The box fan is essential to sleep. It drowns out my snoring for DH's sake, allows me to cool off quickly from the middle of the night hot flashes and drowns out any noise my insomniac husband makes when he gets up and down during the night. The history presentation went well yesterday, so DH is happy. About 150 kids from 2 of the 4 high schools in the parish attended. First Student, the school bus service, transported kids for free and told DH they will gladly do this for any community events, which I thought was extremely nice. Several members of the Cultural District attended. A man from another state has researched the life of his ancestor who fought for the Union army during the Civil War and was stationed here at Fort Morganza, an earthen work fortress now mostly swept away by the changing path of the Mississippi River. He does a talk about it and dresses appropriately as his ancestor for before, during and after the Civil War. A local historian alternated with him, discussing what it was like here before, during and after the Civil War. After the students were dismissed, the adults went to the area of the levee where the fortress was and then had lunch at a local spot. DH enjoyed his day after the stress of planning and coordinating everything and printing up all the handouts himself. I met with several former co-workers from around the state at my favorite BTR restaurant for what we term "Best Ladies Luncheon". We meet at different locations around the state every few months and different ones show up at different times. I was very pleased that one woman that I worked with at my very first state job in 1975 came this time. We sat next to each other and had a great time catching up on our lives. My sister-in-law's sister came into the restaurant, spotted us and came over to say hi. To my surprise, she and my friend knew each other. Small world! My meals for the past 2 days have been rather high in sodium, so I wasn't surprised to be up .9 at official WI today. Still, it is somewhat disheartening. I reminded myself of all the pep talks I just gave Judy and told myself to get over it and move on. Tonight, DH and I plan to eat at Hottails, our favorite local spot, so the sodium problem will continue at least another day. I will order grilled shrimp and veggies, my favorite dish there and keep drinking lots of water. I'm leaning toward soup and 1/2 sandwich for lunch. Ann - I can so identify with your concern for DH. Those men and their health problems really affect us, don't they? Judy - DH and I really feel like stay at home, stick-in-the-mud people compared to some we know. Our involvement in the Cultural District activities has helped, though. Re: setting a goal weight--I just chose the top number of my healthy BMI and that worked well for quite a while. I got a few lbs. below that around the time of my dad's illness and death and did NOT like the way I looked. Now I struggle to get back to the top end number. Sue - What a nice way to start the day! Happy shopping. Well, time to head out for errands!

I am back from Costco! Geez, by the time I empty the car and ferry most of the large items downstairs, I am exhausted! I only purchased 14 items and spent a hundred and a half. The only thing I bought that I didn't need right now was a case of diced tomatoes, but we will use them over time. In the summer I use fresh but they are gone now in our area, so we'll go back to canned.
I had planned to make Strawberry Waffles for dinner, but DH and I both had turkey sausage for breakfast at the restaurant, so we'll put that off for tomorrow. Instead I thawed out the Butternut Squash Soup and the deli turkey slices I had in the freezer and will make soup & sandwiches. I have Dave's Killer Bread (thin sliced) for me, and DH went back to Whole Foods and got the bread he originally went for (Seeduction). That has been a favorite of ours for years (like 12 or 15) and he brought home something that looked (and tasted) entirely different and was shaped differently. He agreed to return it, and they gave him some story about how they baked it in a different pan ..... BUT it didn't have the seedy look or the wheat flakes on top .... so we think it was just a mistaken labeling. Anyway, he came home with 3 loaves of what we're used to, so he can have his turkey sandwich on that tonight. That will be a treat for us!
I have stayed within my SP recently and the scale is reflecting that (which pleases me). I am due for my monthly WW WI next Wednesday, so I will stay the course and perhaps have a splurge day after that. There is a special at the Outback Steakhouse that is calling my name (steak paired with lobster mac 'n cheese). Right now I am hungry so need to go forage for something to eat.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi girls. Finally sitting down after a long day of talking with Donna and walking LuLa all over the hood LOL. Carl had grand jury duty today. He was stuck in traffic as well as a lot of the other people and was 10 minutes late in getting there. They were painting lines on the main highway and that was the hold up. Sheesh. Donna stayed for lunch and we got in some good 'girl talk'. Yes Pam it is hard when our men folk have so many appointments to deal with. I pray for a good results. Sue it surely doesn't take much to drop $$$ these days. I am now going to sit and relax. It will be an 'early to bed' night for this chick!
