DH and I had a fun date night at our favorite restaurant in town. He had appetizers of boudin balls and fried mushrooms instead of an entree and I have my favorite grilled shrimp & veggies, light on the butter. If it wasn't for the beer, it would have been a very WW-friendly meal. I ate half and brought half home for a lunch.
We let two very damp kitties in when we got home and gave them treats. As I bonus, I sprayed their scratching posts with catnip spray and they are having a ball scratching and tussling with each other.
Well, suddenly today, Tropical Storm Olga formed in the Gulf and will arrive in the middle of the night. After a very wet day, more rain is not on my top list of things to acquire, but I guess I don't have a choice. The winds should only be 30-40 mph, so I'm hoping we won't lose power. I told DH he will have lots of pecans to pick after it passes through.
Wishing all a good evening!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! We have a beautiful sunny day right now, but it promises to rain later and probably all night and into tomorrow. We will get everything that we want to do done this morning and just hunker down indoors for the afternoon and evening. I am sure DH has some football on his mind, and I have a good book to finish and then select my next one.
We ended up adding a side salad to our soup & sandwich supper and it was perfect! I have been using the Boathouse dressings as they are less SP and I like them. The supper was ample, but I was hungry again before bedtime so I ate a bowl of Skinny Pop popcorn. I haven't had any in ages and it really hit the spot!
I also woke hungry this morning, but breakfast was oatmeal with fresh blueberries cooked in and it was perfect! I have decided to just do the bare necessities this morning, and I have already changed and made our bed. Then I'll just put on tinted moisturizer and a bit of eye crayon and call it "made up"; then add some jeans from yesterday and head out to Kohl's to see if I can spend the coupon I got Monday. It's only good for a week and I want a new top (still). I found one I like in two different catalogs, but would prefer to try it on first. So I'll try Kohl's today.
Judy ~ I had to LOL about your surprise when you found out how many SP in your dinner. I have done exactly the same thing! No kidding!! One was the Steakhouse Salad I love at the Outback Steakhouse, which is exorbitant in SP but I love it, so now I just plan on it. But the first time ..... yikes!!
Ann ~ I am so glad you got to enjoy a girls' day yesterday. Bummer about Carl getting stuck in traffic!! We've had a lot of construction going on and it seems everywhere I go I run into something! I am happy that you are sleeping well. It makes such a huge difference (to me at least)!
Pam ~ I was happy to read that you and DH enjoyed your date night. Sorry about the storm coming and raining on everything! Hope all stays well with you and NO power outages!!
Yesterday I wore a different pair of shoes that I haven't worn in a long while and my back was so much better and no leg pain! I have been working in my "cute" Skechers and even though I alternate them, my back and legs have been giving me fits. I wore my New Balance running shoes yesterday and realized after I got home from Costco and put everything away that I wasn't in excruciating pain. I have to attribute it to the change in shoes. I have two pair of those, so I got them out and put them on reach-in shelf so I will wear them more. I can still wear my "cute" ones for going out, but I think when I am working or otherwise doing a lot of standing/walking, I better use the other ones. In fact, I think I will wear them today to go shopping.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue sometimes switching shoes does the trick. Happy that your back pain is better having done that. I have certain shoes that I now only wear when I'm walking and that seems to help with my foot and leg pain as well.
Speaking of walking, we took a nice hood walk. I had a whole wheat English muffin with peanut butter and a banana for breakfast and now just waiting for the second pot of coffee. After that, we'll head on out to run some errands and then just coming back home to hang out for the entire day.
Take care, all. Will try to pop in later.

Hey friends - happy Saturday! It’s another nice day here and it’s sunny and bright. 😎
i ran ran out early to picked up a dress to wear to this wedding of the centurythat we will be attending this weekend in NJ. It’s my DDILs sister’s wedding and will be held at a castle..truly a castle..and it’s black tie. I was going to wear the beautiful mother of the bride gown I wore for my DDs wedding, but after mulling it over, I decided it’s too dressy and I might feel like I’m trying to match the real mother of the bride. It is a changtung silk with a lot of detail and very fancy. So I found a beautiful tea length dress with a sparkly jacket in a plum color thato seems more appropriate and less fussy. I won’t have to wear elaborate undergarments, either! The best part is that it was $230.00 marked down to less than $60. I wasn’t going to spring for an expensive dress so this fit the bill. It’s a size too large but since it is flowy, I don’t think it matters.
Sorry about Olga showing up in your area, Pam. Stay safe and dry. Glad the kitties are enjoying their treats. I stopped at Walmart and stocked up on D&Ds treats today. Mini milk bones and tiny Bonz. They count on them! They were all over me with excitement when I got home because they knew I bought them. 🐶
Ann, glad you had a good rest and a fun day yesterday. Boo on traffic for Carl. I got stuck in an accident tie up for about an hour on Wednesday on 290. Ugh. So, I relate. Thankfully, the drivers weren’t hurt and a baby was in one car.
Sue, your breakfast sounded fun. I loved your shoe story because, though I love the cuteness factor of the sketchers, they don’t provide much support. My favorite brand for sneaker type support are Brooks - recommended by my podiatrist. Best ever! Glad you found comfortable ones! It’s hard getting older, isn’t it? ☹️ All these issues that never bothered us before! My poor DH is having another horrible bout of gout. It’s all medication related due to the Lasix. He finally got a prescription yesterday and seems a bit better.
Thanks for the tip on goal weight, Ann. Your number seems like a big reach for me but 150 or 155 sounds more doable. That is the number my doctor suggested at one time. I’m about 5 3-1/2. I have a long way to go- especially if I mix in those 53 pt chicken pies!! Good grief! I’ll have a story to tell at my Tuesday meeting. 🤣
We are home today doing chores. I worked until nearly 8:30 last night at the Board meeting so was pooped. Long week and long day.

ann1953, hi Ann, I left and returned to my posting to edit and add some personals! I was afraid I’d lose it if I just let it sit. DH and I had a coupon for Bertucci so ordered a couple salads and a veggie pizza. I had one slice and my salad which was great. Leftovers for later. His diet has to modify a bit to help the gout. No more red meat for awhile and more fruits and veggies.

Judy ~ Since you don't have a designated "goal weight" (I think that's what you said) you do know that you can get a note from your doctor indicating his goal for you and turn it in to WW and they will accept it. I don't know if you knew that or not, but since you mentioned your doctor it reminded me.
Your dress sounds beautiful. We have a November 30th wedding coming up and I looked at dresses today but wasn't in the mood. So instead I bought two flannel shirts (which is really what I went for). I had on a Cuddle Duds lacy camisole so tried them on with it underneath which is how I will most likely wear them and they were perfect. They were already on sale then I got my 25% off, so I paid less than the original price of one for both of them. One is plaid and one is flowered and I love them both!
Need to go forage for some lunch. I realized I was hungry while out shopping, but didn't want to stop anywhere and waste the SP <LOL> I have much healthier food at home.

Judy sorry for the traffic tie up. Happy that nobody was hurt...especially with a baby in one of the vehicles. Scary stuff. Yes Weight Watchers will honor a doctor's note and you will make lifetime when you reach that. The only stipulation being that you can't work for weight watchers without reaching their goal LOL.......To me, free is free I know of people that have asked their doctors to 'pad the weight' a bit and some do. LOL to the 53 point pot pie! Lots of 'hidden ingredients' in there to raise that up that much. Sue I also hear you on not wanting to waste points eating out. Whenever I get hungry on the road I try to find a Subway as that is doable. Glad you got some flannel shirts that you like. Well, I'm beat, so going to relax before supper. Waving..................

Quick post before I head to bed--
We had a quiet day. Lunch was my leftover grilled shrimp & veggies from last night. DH ran an errand and picked up a dozen boiled blue crabs for our dinner. I managed to eat 3 before I gave up. WAY too much red pepper. My lips burned for a long time afterwards, even after having a glass of milk. I like my spicy food, but this was over the top for me. I had a sandwich to fill me up.
We watched the LSU-Auburn game this afternoon and my Tigers managed to pull it off, but it wasn't pretty. They will have to play much better or Alabama will cream them when they play in two weeks.
I walked a little today, but it started misting rain again, so I came home. I walked some indoors which helped my tension during the football game. My right knee was bothering me and Sue has me wondering if I need new sneakers. These are New Balance, but I have had them a couple years now, so they have a lot of miles on them.
Judy - Your dress sounds lovely! I can't wait to hear about the wedding. I hope DH gets the gout under control. I am told it is quite painful.
Sue - I also love flannel shirts. I have 4 from Lands End and they wash beautifully. I pair them with color-coordinated t-shirts.
Ann - Subway is also my go-to, if I have to grab fast food. But, like Sue, I prefer to come home to better, healthier food.
Sweet dreams, all!

Good morning all. Thought I'd wake up to rain but so far, so good. Carl is out walking LuLa. I have a slight headache so going to sit this walk out. Feel like sinus pressure to me. This too shall pass.
Pam happy that you go to watch the game and enjoyed it. I also enjoy spicy foods, but sometimes they get a little too heavy in that area.
Waving and wishing all a wonderful OP Sunday. Plans will depend on the weather.

Ann- You and Carl will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.
It is a cool 61 and cloudy today, but no rain so far. We may see the sun a little this afternoon and tomorrow before more rain arrives.
Not much going on today. I went to Mass and will conduct bible study at 4:00pm, but nothing else on the agenda. I will probably go out and sort pecans for DH. I have a dear friend and former co-worker who loves them and we usually give her a sack.
I had eggs scrambled with a little ham & cheese and a slice of Dave's thin-sliced Good Seed bread for breakfast. That should hold me until dinner and if not, I have about a half-cup of homemade turkey noodle soup in the fridge. That with a salad and some fruit will do. Dinner is boneless chicken breasts stuffed with crabmeat dressing, parmesan potatoes, beets and fresh green beans.
I am drowning in books on my Libby app. I have 2 audiobooks going, plus one to read. Two of the three need to be finished this week, so I will probably do some listening in addition to the times I walk or travel. I am enjoying all three: The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty and Beartown by Fredrik Backman.
I'll drop back in later to see what's up with Sue & Judy.

Hey all from a rainy Sunday. I was up early and walked the dogs. We had another builder over later so we are gathering more info. The job is too big for him, but he may have us talk to his contractor friend. Meanwhile we will meet with an architect/designer in a few weeks. Time will tell if we decide to build, remodel or move. Lol. A lot boils down to money- ain’t that the truth?
I had a nail appointment earlier to spiff up for the lavish wedding. It’s a dark purple with subdued sparkles so will match my dress and go well with the flapper dress for the masquerade ball the night before. Sheesh, two fancy outfits! My DH is so laid back and costumes are not his thing but he’s being a good sport!
Pam, I have a load of books on my kindle too. I’m reading Malcolm Gladwell’s new one Talking to Strangers. Fascinating and about how misleading our impressions of people can be. Often we ignore the facts based on our gut feelings. So true! Pam, I have read two of your three and liked them a lot. The Goldfinch was very good. Also, I saw some of your LSU game. Great team!! They are #1 in the country, right? One if my best friends daughter went to Auburn so I know how big college football is in your area. We’ll watch a soggy Patriots game later today.
Ann, this gloomy day has me curled up in my recliner here. Hope Carl does well tomorrow. Keep us posted.
Waving to Sue!
