Hi all,
Monday rolls around too fast for this working girl! I hope your feet fare well, Sue, in the running shoes. Nothing worse than sore feet. My poor DH can attest to that as he is still suffering mightily with the gout in his foot. It has moved to the bottom of his foot - OUCH - and though he says the meds are helping, it's not enough yet. Time will tell. Poor guy.
We had a big downpour last night. D&D do NOT want to go out and get their little feet wet in the rain. Oddly enough, they love snow!
Ann, hope all goes well today. Surgery is always tough. Guess I told you my DD has to have major surgery on December 5th. It is reconstructive ankle surgery combined with an ACL repair which puts her out of commission for six months. I am losing sleep over it all. I feel badly that I am not closer to help her out. Having a 3 and 5 year old is a lot to cope with combined with running a preschool. She'll have to have plenty of help. We'll be out at Christmastime but that is about it. So far away.
The third builder did not offer a lot of encouraging news to us about the house. His analysis is that it really does have to be torn down and rebuilt. Otherwise, all the code issues (it's a 100 year old place) will quickly mount up to a huge expense it'd be cleaner and easier to rebuild. It's a quandary. The place means so much to us. We could build a smaller house but then there would be no room for the family to visit and they love it there. We could sell it and buy a nice home somewhere else - the easiest route. Or we can leave it alone as a cottage and still buy another place for the two of us that is easier than our other house with all the stairs, etc. I just want to be settled. DH really really wants to rebuild so we are talking in a few weeks to the architect with the bigger construction company to see what she says. Sometimes I feel too old and worn out to even contemplate this magnitude of a project. But, it'll all work out! One way or another. The guy we saw yesterday also said he has another friend who is a bigger scale builder and he is going to talk to him about it. I know you have a condo, Sue, and that idea often appeals to me, but I can't convince DH - at least yet. I'd like to have no worries - no snowplowing, no yard work, etc. DH likes the yard, house, garden, etc.
Work will be somewhat quiet this week as my boss is away. After such a hectic week last week, I am glad.
I hope to see Downton Abbey tonight! Finally!
Have a great day all, and keep us posted on Carl, Ann. Hope the surgery goes well!

Hi all! I was hoping Ann would have posted an update on Carl. I hope all went well today. Judy - I think you will like Downton Abbey. It's kind of neat to revisit your favorite characters and the costumes were gorgeous! Sue - Did the new shoes help your aches and pains? I hope so! I had a quiet, kind of lazy day. I got the laundry done and a few little chores. Skipped my walk but did go to yoga. I am struggling with myself. I stay OP for a week and then lose steam and am back to square one. I am pulling out the Beck book and settling in for some serious work. Either that, or the holidays will do me in. Wish me luck!

Ann - Our prayers will continue! Thanks for the update.
I have a hospice team meeting this morning and then all the volunteers are meeting for a pizza lunch at one volunteer's camp on the lake. The weather is supposed to turn stormy this afternoon, but will hopefully hold off long enough for us to enjoy some outdoor time, even though it will be cloudy. My plan is to have yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, so that I am not starving and hold it to one piece of pizza for lunch. I am hoping there will also be a salad. Dinner will be pork shreds on 1/2 baked potato and vegetables.
I finished the laundry and attempted to make a hospice visit late yesterday afternoon, but my little lady was fast asleep, so I did grocery shopping instead and picked up DH's prescription at the pharmacy. Then I went to yoga class, which I enjoyed very much. We had a less active class, but did lots of stretching, which felt very good.
I had a hard time sleeping last night. I finally went to bed at 12:30 am, but tossed and turned for quite a while before going to sleep and then woke often. Usually I sleep very well after yoga, so I'm not sure what was going on. I may get in a nap this afternoon. We have RCIA class at 6:00 pm.
I hope you all have a great OP day!

Hey all, It's a rainy Tuesday and once again, the doggies did not want to go out. They think they are royalty! LOL
I did go to see Downton Abbey last night early and loved it! Fun to see everyone on the big screen and oh, the costumes and the castles! Very fun and I loved the sparring that always takes place with the Dowager Countess Maggie Smith and Isobel and now the new adversary. I laughed out loud a lot. It was just the break I needed.
I went to WW today and am down 1.5 Like you, Pam, I go down and then up and so forth. I need to keep the momentum going at least TWO weeks in a row. That's my goal this week to go down or at least stay exactly the same. I am on Day 12 of Beck and I like it. We have the wedding plus the lavish rehearsal dinner to get through Thursday and Friday. I'll keep you posted. I may be away for a few days from the boards, but I will try to check in the get some inspiration!
Ann, keep us posted on the surgery when it does happen. Fingers crossed and prayers for the best outcome. Has he had hernia surgery before? Is it laparoscopic? DH had both ways. Two laparoscopic and one conventional. He's an experienced double hernia king, but he did well with all the surgeries. Recovery on the laparoscopic was much quicker, of course. I know Carl will be a trooper, too!
All for now. I'll check in later.

Judy he had regular surgery 15 years ago. All is well. Has a smaller one on opposite side but no pain so they will watch it. Congrats on your weight loss.
Again I thank you all for the prayers.

Wonderful news Ann! We lost WiFi, so my posts will be short. I’ll explain later when I have better access than a cell phone hotspot.

Good morning all. I slept well, just not long enough. Sometimes that inner alarm clock is off LOL. NO worries, as I'm sure I'll get a cat nap in should I feel the need. After my gel manicure we will stop and pick up a few things and I'll tool around Marshall's also. Some retail therapy is in order Also need to pick up a special treat for miss LuLa as tomorrow is her 8th bday. Yup, she is our witch woman LOL. Pam so sorry about losing WIFI. I hear you on short posts from the phone. Wishing all a wonderful OP day. Will pop in later.

Good morning!
Well, we have internet & cable service again. It seems the bill got "lost" in a pile of DH's stuff and didn't get paid. He got it all straightened out. We had a nice evening of antenna TV - Heroes and Icons channel - and I got a good bit of my book read. It all just pointed out to me how much time we waste on tv and internet.
I am once again following my PP plan closely and feeling virtuous about it. We'll see if I can survive a weekend at the camp, which is usually synonymous with overeating/drinking and lots of junk food. We have already planned our evening meals and I am working on breakfasts & lunches that will accommodate the Dungeness crab buffet at the casino on Friday and pizza & beer on Saturday. I have been saving up weeklies and activity points to cover the weekend.
Yesterday we had hospice team meeting and then I visited my patient. Then we met on the lake at one of the volunteer's camp and enjoyed sunshine, fresh air, pizza and information. I stuck to my one slice of pizza and had a side of salad and one cookie. I noticed I was very hungry by mid-afternoon, but settled for a cup of peppermint tea and the urge to eat passed.
Today I will help DH sort pecans and attend choir practice this evening for the first time in several weeks. We will be working on Christmas music, which I love.
Have a great day!

Hey all! This is my "Friday" as I am off the rest of the week. We leave tomorrow AM for NJ - the masquerade ball/rehearsal is tomorrow night and then the wedding Friday night, a brunch Saturday am and a dinner on Saturday night with the entire family. That's a lot of stuff. We will stay in a hotel until Saturday and will stay one night with our DS and DDIL after the dinner and head home on Sunday morning. Phew!
Pam, do you follow PP PowerPoint plus instead of freestyle? I learned at my meeting that WW is updating the plan again in November but nothing major, she said. We shall see. Maybe everything will be free now! :-) Have fun at the lake. It sounds like my kind of weekend...lol And, yes, I so agree on time wasted on the internet and on TV. More reading...so much better and I need that, too.
Ann, happy birthday to Lula - I didn't know she was 8. Doug is 7 and Daisy is 6. Time goes too fast. Happy retail therapy afternoon. It's a good day for it. Glad you got your nails spiffed up. I went back to gel - well actually that dip this time. The acrylic nails did not work for me They were all lifting. I don't remember that years ago. I really do love getting my nails done, though. I feel a bit more dressed up.
Waving to Sue and I'll check in later if I can. Have a good one!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have our predicted rain (along with gloom and doom) today, tonight and tomorrow. Then it gets continually colder. Today the high was only in the mid-40's and no sun! It promises to stay high of 40's the rest of the week.
I have had a fun week so far. Monday I grocery shopped at Meijer and made a great supper (salmon patties with mashed potatoes and creamed peas over all) that we really enjoyed! I also baked a Crustless Pumpkin Pie which we have been enjoying. Last night we went to DH's VBF's house and sat outdoors around the fire pit (the fire was very welcome!) and played with the Boxers. We hadn't seen them in too long and they let us know that. There was lots of attention passed back and forth. He grilled steaks over charcoal and we ate indoors, then brought home enough steak for at least another meal.
Today I am going to WW for my monthly WI and then to Starbuck's with VBF for a catch-up session. I had seen a special advertised at the Outback Steakhouse that caught my eye, plus we have gift cards to there plus we are rewards members and only need one more meal to qualify for a 50% off. So we had planned to go tonight, but after eating steak last night I am not really hungry for it again tonight. Since I will be out and about DH offered to bring home our favorite Green Apple Salads (a type of chicken Greek) for both of us. So when I get here, supper will be made. Then we can save our Outback trip for another day.
On the way to WW I have to go to the jewelry store and have the battery in DH's work watch replaced, so I will be leaving earlier than usual. The jewelry store has recently moved and I am excited to see their new location.
Judy ~ Your weekend sounds so very exciting. Almost like a fairy tale ...... Enjoy the festivities.
Ann ~ Glad to hear that Carl does not need more surgery. My DH had one hernia repaired years ago, and he also had a small one on the other side, but it never developed into anything troublesome.
Pam ~ Enjoy your weekend at the camp! Sounds like you have your meals all planned and your program under control.
I have only one more day of school this week, then my long weekend. Friday I have a dental appointment for a cleaning; then Saturday I have a Red Hat birthday breakfast and then lunch with VBF; and Sunday we have lunch with DH's VBF followed by a Retrouvaille presentation (4 hours worth) and then the drive home.
I finished a book on my Kindle yesterday and set up a new one to start so hopefully I'll get some reading done this weekend.
BBL. Make a great day!

Back home after a long day. Manicure came out well. I chose a very deep red color Makes me happy when I look down at them. Before we left, Carl got a call from the nurse at our PCP's office. Apparently she wants him to go see a urologist as she 'sees something' and wants a professional to take a look. Their office will call us and set up an appointment. The nurse said 'not to worry' so we won't.......prayers please and thank you in advance. I shall keep you posted. Pam yeah on the internet being hooked back up. Carl and I are NOT television watchers at all. We enjoy movies that we will watch via Amazon Prime or Redbox and we watch a LOT of music videos via youtube. The rest is just junk IMHO. I keep my desktop up morning to mid afternoon and then just rely on my phone which is why posts are VERY short and sweet from there LOL. Smart of you to squirrel away the points for a splurge on the weekend. I do that as well....or if something suddenly 'pops up' I will cut back with the next meal. By balancing things out, I don't feel deprived. I was toying with the idea of going back to points plus. So many rumors going around about the different plans being offered. I will wait and see when I get all my information. I no longer stay for meetings, so after reading it, if it makes no sense to me, I'll KOKO with what I'm already doing and be done with it LOL. I still follow the GHG's and work the points in around those. I allow myself 28 points a day which is the maximum for being lifetime and the 21 weekly points. I also will dive into any points that I earn via walking. Some weeks/days are better than others I too find that at times a cup of flavored tea will take the edge off. I picked up some granny smith apples today so those will be good to munch on with a cheese stick. Judy I've never had acrylic nails. Kathy, my old nail gal told me that they can be a pain to keep on if you do a lot of typing and such. My hands are constantly in and out of water.....which from what others have told me is a no no with the acrylics. To each his own I guess. I keep my nails very short and enjoy the gel as it lasts longer. Yes miss LuLa will be 8! She is such a joy. We take her for walks all the time and people actually comment on it. When we came home, she was waiting for us at the door 'talking' so after we put away all out treasurers, we took her for a walk. LOL to everything being FREE now on weight watchers. With freestyle I let the scale be my guide and will count points for some of the freebie foods....especially when I make my own hummus as I can surely overdo on that I use sesame oil and seeds instead of the tahini paste as that bothers my tummy and add roasted garlic red pepper flakes salt roasted garlic and some red roasted peppers along with the beans. I reserve some of the bean juice to add to the food processor. Doug and Daisy are also lucky pooches I can imagine you and DH doting over them. Waving to Sue. Will try to pop in later. Right now I am going to brew a cup of tea. Pam you have me craving peppermint
