Good Morning - THINK 1st THURSDAY... While I had plenty of water yesterday - and more steps than most days... my eating wasn't as good as it could be! I had dessert last night! I NEVER get dessert - WTH is up with that?? UGH! I was doing so well... all day... considering! I had a nice turkey and swill panini for lunch, but took off the bread from the 2nd half... it came with a side salad - and I had my seltzer! For a snack yesterday morning - I had a bowl of mixed fruit - and WOW Who KNEW a small innocent bag of almonds would b 8SP! YIKES! See I was tracking too! LOL I had taken my mug & tea bags - so I just got hot water - and had my usual 2 mugs of tea during the day... dinner I had a small house salad & grilled chicken breast with baked potato and steamed broccoli... I did have wine with dinner... then, The.Damned.Dessert.! I didn't eat it all... but still....
Matthew had such a good day yesterday - that he is convinced that these treatments will be no big deal, and he is thinking he may drive himself or take the T into Boston! I know I always look for "trouble" but I am afraid he will take the train one day and NOT be able to ride it to come home!! UGH KIDS! I will rearrange my remaining days to be the days he has treatments - just in case... I think they are set to drive themselves in today - for the needle removal and the booster shot he needs, but going forward the "day after booster" may be able to be done more locally. This kind of slipped through the cracks when they were scheduling the first treatment!
SO let me try to catch up -

MY Tuesday tracking didn't get completed... never thought about doing that while riding in the car the other night! HUH! I will go back and get it done today! I want a completed tracker for my first week!
Gabrielle: Hope your coach being back made the Track Tuesday better for you. OH NO More power outages?? Does school get cancelled with all of this?? Hopefully you headed to Sac earlier and had power to get ready for your day today? I'd send the rain (and the cold) to you if I could! The day here yesterday was just miserable! Cold - RAW - Rain/drizzle/mist... ALL DAY... not a good day to get out and explore Boston! Next time... I will be more prepared for the cold, and will take a walk - if it is not snowing! Matt may think he is fine to drive, but I will still be going... "just because"!
I can see the dome of the state house from the waiting room - and decided next time - I will take a walk over there!
The ride was a learning tool! LOL I learned a few things from Matt & Patti regarding the treatments and the outlook and such...
YAY for a car ride with your DS and Kate! Oh I did start looking over Pintrest yesterday - didn't get too many new ideas, pinned a couple of recipes to my WW board on Pintrest. Thanks for the reminder!
Yes - I am sure mostly your DS wants to be more involved.
Sue: Oh dear... so many things to think about for FSA! I found I can NOT get the HSA the bank offers - as it is only offered with one medical plan and that is not the one we have! I will try to look it up today - to see what the differences would be if we switched, but truth be told - as much as I dislike my insurance, I am not sure I am ready to try a new one again! I think I will just bump up my FSA this year... my annual raise will cover it - so it won't be like I am losing anything - as long as we USE it! We both will need glasses after the first of the year, so that alone will use up a good chunk! Good luck with Jason's dental work!
Lisa: YAY FOR YOU! Hey, YOUR being down 3# motivates ME too! WW can work if we "work it". GOOD FOR YOU! Sorry the job is getting to ya', yup not long now til the end of the year!!
Yes, please share a recipe if you find a good one!
Woo hoo on the new car - and yeah, why would we need a maintenance agreement on a new car?? I mean even used - they should not be selling you a piece of junk! Good for you helping the kids "see" that!
Jo: LOL NO We never get used to not sleeping!! Hopefully the new meds will help! The "new" WW isn't so "new" but it is NEW TO ME! LOL When I joined, I joined as a completely new member - so none of my past 13 years of "stuff" is staring me in the face! I am also intrigued by the different plans, yup, they are pretty much the same old ones, new "colors" instead of names... I don't know, I guess it has been so long since I followed ANY plan - that it is all new to me!
Sue: Oh my! Sorry this tooth business is so back & forth!! Hopefully HR is OK with working with you to make more changes!

Hope to hop on later - but also should hit the grocery store after work!

Hom morning! Went to pt yesterday. Had a different person. I really liked her. We had a lot on common. She cut my exercises way back. They think I have a tear in my rotator cuff. The question is, is it small enough to heal itself or do I need surgery. Surgery scares the s**t out of me. Just think of all the stuff you COULD NOT do with your dominant hand/arm immobile. It would be very bad.
But if I need it, it would be nice if I could get done before the end of the year. I wouldnt have to worry about taking off for Christmas.

Well I took the plunge and joined WW. My assessment has my a green. What plan are you following? May switch to purple just so I don't have to track as much. But for now I think its important for me to track. I get 30sp! Wow!
Morning Carole! Glad Matt's 1st treatment went well. What is his treatment? Dessert 1 day, is no big deal. Moderation! It's nice you have the days to take off with him. It's probably a good idea for some to go with him each time.
Got to get moving. Wave to Christine, Gabrielle, Sue, jenny, lisa

Good morning! I slept well last night - woke a little early to try another Yoga video. Good stretches! Tracked breakfast and lunch with a few snacks. Had a very Off day myself yesterday so Carole you’re not alone there! Yes, track it all - I was surprised I still had Weekly Points left!

Morning all....never did make it back here after work...not sure what happened or why but I got puttering and sat in the recliner to eat my dinner and never got up....started my shopping list for Thanksgiving, Jason got home and chatted with him for a bit, by then it was 8:00 so I settled in for Survivor and when that was over I turned off the light above my head, played a little Words with Friends until I nodded off....woke about 1:00 am and wandered to bed after a potty stop! Slept great until Jason's alarm went off.
He went into work a little early so he can still get in his 8 hours before he has to leave for the root canal. The estimate for that is under $200 which seems too cheap to be true but we will see. It will surely be more than that....that's just our luck!
Will be a little later getting home tonight but will catch up then...got a few stops to make on the way home!
See you all then!

Good morning! Watching news but getting a post started at least maybe finish on computer. Rainy but warmer today. Greg has PT and we are both sore after choosing long path walking yesterday. No regrets it was fun and refreshing to see the fall trees and prairie.
Carole- so glad that Matt is feeling positive but I think still plan a driver. As far as dessert you can use your weekly points. I had to do that with my visit to the brewery, and now I think hard about that beer or wine.
Sue-that does sound cheap for a root canal but maybe not all dentists charge as much as mine! I was up at 3 am to make a potty run, should not have asked for more water at Cracker barrel!
Got probably last bag of apples from local orchard yesterday. Also got a cute Doug and Melissa toy for Kennedy for Christmas 🤗
Ok will hop on the computer in a few minutes to finish...

Jo-I'm on green too and while it's more tracking, it makes me be more aware of my portions and is also pushing me more towards my free veggies that i know I don't eat enough of. I hope you don't need surgery but if you do you would have some recovery time over the holidays. Maybe that is why it still hurts? I'm glad that you liked the therapist and I do believe that they have seen a lot of cases so may have some insight on things.
Christine-glad that you slept well, had some good stretches, and finding that your points are working out well. I am so glad that I feel like I am in more control now.
Jenny-Hope that your birthday was great!
Now getting Geoff's car insurance set up and reviewing our own coverages at the same time. Needing to call them today to ask a few questions.
Gabrielle-I can't remember when your power outage was, but thinking of you!
Waving to all..still need to eat just a little something because I'm not feeling very hungry right now but pack a snack for mid morning.

Good morning!
Driving to Sacramento for an all-day training today but looking forward to it--data visualization---how do you present data in a way that people can really see it as they need to? I signed up months ago. So, after a lot of debate, they decided not to turn off the power. I was so glad but, unfortunately, most districts had already cancelled school because they were told "no power at 7:00 am" and then the decision to change this didn't happen until 9:00 am or so. Some districts have had 10 days of school cancelled so far--sheesh! Anyway, I am happy to have power! Ran on the TM this morning--fastest I have run in a few years (not sure why?). I had an okay day yesterday foodwise---I did have 3 pieces of chocolate last night and really wasn't hungry--who knows why? Loving reading that people are looking at recipes, etc. I am going to check on our Pinterest Board in a bit and let me know if you want to be added...I know that Carole and Sue have access...maybe Shelly? I will look.
Carole: Wow, you must be so relieved about how yesterday went! Whew! So glad that you had our car time too--still sacred time with our kids! Sounds like a great hotel as well. So glad Matt felt okay...but good to have your plans in place in case it is a situation where it gets harder as the weeks go by (or days). I would think that it is different for each person. Sounds like you are doing great--your weeklies will cover that dessert, right? Yes, nuts are good nutritiously, but you have to balance that with the quantity...I am trying to rarely eat them alone (have them with an apple or on something). Hope that today is a good day--you are in such a different place now with the treatment behind you and some of the anxiety of it all resolved (I hope). Have a great day!
Christine: So glad that you have the videos another shot--sounds like it might be a good option for you! You are self-disciplined (like my sister)...I am not! I love reading through plan information, recipes, etc....glad that you are able to do that. I am so glad that you are on WW with us! Nice to have people to talk through the details with. Yesterday was kind of "off"? Hope that today is better for you!
Jo: Yay for finding a good PT...you can always schedule with her, right? That's what I have done in the past...a good PT is a keeper. I am also green on WW. Purple mirrors "simply filling" of the past and I need more self discipline right now on the quantity of food....plus I am not a big "nonfat" fan--yogurt is okay. Hope that you only have a minor tear in the rotator cuff. How will they know?

Jenny: GREAT news about Kerry's procedure!! So happy for you! So, is there a biopsy or something that they do? So glad that they found the heart issue---maybe they wouldn't have if he didn't have this? LOL, Kerry the teddy bear....I am sure that they appreciate a good-natured person (they probably get some kranky people). I totally missed that he was retiring so soon---how wonderful! So he can do all of your stuff around the house, right? LOL, that is what I dream will happen here one day---actually DH is great about helping me out when I ask. Good news on the WWoW front too Hope that you have a good day--sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for next week....and, thankfully, turkey isn't red meat!
Lisa: Great job getting that walk in yesterday! Oh, you have prairie nearby? I would love that!! LOL, it's a "good sore", right? Sounds like you made great dinner choices...isn't it nice that you can still go out and enjoy a dinner and good company? I love that. Hope that you have a good day today!
Shelly: Saw you pop in...hope that all is well.
Okay, time to go and get ready---who knows what the Thursday drive will be like! Hope that you all have a good day...I plan to be home at a decent time later...have to drop by a "social" thing for administrators on the way though. I think we are all ready for Friday!

Carole, I agree, once he gets into the Chemo, he will not be able to drive home. Glad you got more info from Matt and Patty. Sorry it rained and there was no site seeing for you. Maybe next time.
Lisa, seems a lot of people are green. I thought the same thing, I need to track to see what I'm really eating. For a little while anyway.
Sue, hope Jason's root canal goes smoothly. That does sound cheap for one. Hate, hate, the dentist and am putting off going because I'm afraid they will tell me I need one too. Ugh!
Sue and Carole, I upped my HSA as I seem to always run out by the end of the year. I have maybe $5.00 on it now. It doesn't affect my check that much so it's no biggie. I like having one though. It's nice for contacts, co-pays and such.
Christine, haven't seen you pop in. how are you?

Waiting for Greg while he's in PT Tonight is small group at church and I'm taking pasta with marinara. Our pastor has a dairy allergy along with others so hard to figure out what to bring. One person is out of town so just 4 of us unless someone new joins us.
Gabrielle-yay for power being on. Sometimes having that chocolate or whatever is needed to satisfy some craving. Kind of get it out of your system thing.
If I find any good new recipes I will share.

Evening all....still waiting for Jason to get home...his appointment was at 2:45 pm so I actually expected he could be home when I got here? Hope they didn't run into issues....that's the last thing we need!
Back to Wednesday to catch up...
Gabrielle....glad you got to head to work and enjoy power all day!! I'm sure it's tough coming home to a dark house...I take it you do not have a generator??? LOL, pictures are easy from my phone or iPad but not the computer....not sure why but I can't figure it out from the PC. That is a good idea for DS to get a room mate for company and have a place that takes pets...yes, sometimes a furry friend is just what you need when away from home. Pet sitting could give him a little extra $$$ too. I know the boys love to "cat sit" for the neighbor and she pays very well for the little they have to do....they love to go down and snuggle them. Poor Jasper is getting more love from Rowan than he wants....Jasper is Rowan's favorite kitty! He's also the naughtiest....might be the reason Rowan is drawn to him...LOL!
Shelly....thanks for popping in and letting us know you are still among us! Yes, with the holiday next week, I'm sure the store if very busy!
Jenny...great news for DH!! So relieved the cancer had not spread. WOW, glad he had the EKG and it caught the heart blockage so early. Hopefully they can get it under control and not have to resort to the pace maker. Sounds like the next few weeks if Fred moves WWOW around and the vacation time you have and Diane has you shouldn't have to deal with her much until after the new year!
Christine....WTG jumping into the new WW program. Maybe you need to get a pad or something for your knees if you have to kneel. I can't kneel on the floor, it's too hard but if I put a pillow or something down I can do it for a while. If you find any "keeper recipes" please share. Are you on Pinterest and part of our board of WW recipes??
Lisa....we love Cracker Barrel but usually only have breakfast there...think we only ate other meals there maybe 2-3 times in all the years we have been going there! We will eat breakfast there on Thanksgiving on our way to David's!!
Carole...so glad to hear Matt did well yesterday. Honestly, as long as Patti is along, I think Matt will be fine heading to Boston for his treatments. If she can't go along, then he'll need someone else. While he thinks he can go along, he needs someone and I know, because I would want to be there for my girls too, you want to be there for moral support and I know Matt appreciates that but he also knows that he might need you for something else like watching Zoe or if he needs the surgery somewhere down the road or radiation that he needs to stay in Boston of a few days, then he needs you to lend a hand....I know he does not want to take advantage of you and Ken or any other family member even though none of you feel that way. As hard as it will be, Matt & Patti are the ones in control of this. As I type this I chuckle to myself because I would be just like you and wanting to be there....it's hard when our kids are grown and "in charge"....we have to follow their lead. Hugs to you my friend! ♥♥♥♥
