Sounds like McConnell & JA are disagreeing on how the Senate should run the trial for impeachment. I wish them nothing but discord & I hope JA makes life hell for McConnelll & the other enablers.

Amen to that! The rougher he makes it on them, the better as far as I'm concerned. They deserve all the rancor he can dump onto them and then some. Of course, in the end they'll just capitulate to him. McConnell likes to pretend he's tough when the cameras are on, but we all know he's not got what it takes to stand up. He'll tuck his little turtle head back in his shell and hide in the corner.

Will it ever get any better? If I could have my Christmas wish, Barr would be in jail. Guiliani would be in jail. And, of course, the JA would be in a cell right between the two of them. But you know that old saying, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." My wish is never going to come true. So my only hope is that the country comes to its senses and votes JA out of office.
In just 3 short years we have allowed one single braggart, bully to undermine our confidence in our elections, to drag through the mud a large portion of the country's faith in our law enforcement and judicial systems, and to disparage our press/news coverage to the point that reporters no longer even feel safe. All the while he's made himself richer, and made our country a laughing stock. He's systematically dismantled and actively worked to destroy every principle this country has stood for since its inception. Yet, he's managed to keep his adoring masses mesmerized and cheering behind him. Kind of makes you feel like we're trapped in the Twilight Zone.

I'm discourage, depressed, & saddened that so many still enable this JA even tho most know better. I think JA, Barr & Giuliani are engaged in Treason, IMHO! But no one listens to me...LOL
Well, I did not decorate for Christmas because I thought no one was coming home this year. Hmmmmm, DS & family from MT informed me last night they have a long weekend coming up ( not this one but one after, right before Christmas) & they are coming here for the weekend....Sooooooooooo, I guess I will start decorating for Christmas today,....wasn't in my plans, but maybe it will help get me out of this winter blues/political mood. Always love to have little kids around at Christmas because they always enjoy decorations & decorating cookies, etc. The grandkids from MT have never been here at Christmas time, so this will be a first for them. I don't think DS has been home around Christmas time for about 15 years or so. Either job schedules, winter conditions, etc kept these kids close to their homes. Other DS only lives 2 hours from here, so they have been here Christmas Day, usually. This year they won't be because of going to AZ to watch Sydney play basketball right after Christmas in a tourney down there. Anyway, I will be HO HO HO ing it up here, so if you see dust flying & Christmas music you will know I'm busy cleaning & decorating. DH PROMISED to help big time & he had better...LOL
Enjoy your day.

Linda, so glad your DS and family who now live in MT are going to be spending some time with you during the Christmas holidays. That's wonderful! How old are these DGKs? There's nothing like grandchildren to help keep things in perspective. So get out those Christmas decorations and turn the Christmas music up. Bake some cookies and enjoy! Seriously, it does help. I make it a point to listen to some Christmas music every day as I'm puttering around the house, and it really does help me. DH keeps the TV on CNN or MSNBC all day upstairs in his "man cave," but I listen to it with my morning coffee and now I'm making myself turn it off downstairs until evening. It's the only way to keep my sanity because like you I am just thoroughly discouraged with the whole mess. DGKs are what help me keep my sanity. In fact, DGD will be here right after lunch as she's out of school today, and we'll pick DGS up after school. They'll both be here until around 9:00 tonight when DSIL will pick them up as DD is leaving town for a work trip at noon. Then DGS will be here tomorrow afternoon as he will get out of school at noon. I love being here close to them now. It helps out DD and DSIL, but truthfully it helps me far more than it helps them.

IMO there needs to be quite a few contempt sentences and fines handed out for the ones that refused to abide by the subponea. Typically, if someone refuses to comply to a subponea, then they're usually held responsible for the opposition attorneys fees. In this case, I'd settle for them having to pay the taxpayers back for all this B.S. lying.

These grandkids that are coming are DGS 12 & DGD is 9......The other 3 grandkids I have are DGD 19, & DGS 17 (live 2 hours away) & DGS 19 (lives in MN w/his Mom & stepdad & goes to college in MN)...
DH helped me get the decorations out this morning, & I already feel better mood wise. Hip isn't happy, but I'm trying to ignore that, LOL....Now I"ll just take my time putting them out. I have simplified it over the last few years, so, it won't be as much work as in years past when my kids were little.
Dot Ren, I totally agree with your statement! We pay for the lying & they take food stamps away from those in need. Makes perfect sense doesn't it...NOT!

I know this is a stupid question but did anyone on here honestly believe the thing sitting in the Oval Office would be a good president? A respected politican? One who cares about the American people as well as how we are seen by other countries?
If you put a bull in a China shop and don't expect the whole shop to be destroyed, it's not the bulls fault, it's yours.
I still do not believe he was legitimately elected. I believe he was selected. If I dare to believe We The People were dumb enough to pick a talk show host to be our president instead of a brilliant, well known politican, I might just believe we'd be dumb enough to do it again.
This guy doesn't belong in the same category as Washington, Lincoln, FDR, Eisenhower, Clinton, Obama, etc.
One of these things is not like the other ones. One of these things does not belong.

birdgal , I know a lot of people, personally, that voted for him because they could not get past Hillary's deceptions. I get that, to a point, but at least she was qualified for the job! Because he's never stupid enough, he has to "Trump" himselfDoes anyone else see this and, after the initial "good grief he's portraying himself as a homicidal villain, what a complete moron" think.. that sure looks like a threat (directed at Pelosi and others)?

Well thank Goodness this guy isn't deceptive.
Democrats BIGGEST problems is we think we have to be perfect.
We aren't choosing a Pope (They are also imperfect humans) we are choosing a politican.
People are deceptive. Politican as well as Popes. We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Deceptions sounds a lot better than, "A woman? I can't vote for a woman president." I'll settle for a spoiled rich man baby who doesn't know a damn thing about politics. Who cheats and lies and is basically a disgusting man. But hey, he's a rich man. Maybe he will make us rich too.
I don't for half a second believe that deception was the reason they didn't like Hillary. If that's the reason they might as well never vote again.
She wanted a mans job. How dare she think she could do that. Perhaps some of those people who claim deception was the only reason just might be deceiving themselves a little bit.

Linda, that's the same age as my DGKs. Enjoy every moment with them! DotRen , how insane that his campaign would put that out. As if he's not already the butt of every joke in the world, and yes, that does look like a threat. Most definitely it looks like a threat, and a very STUPID thing for his campaign to do. Who on earth would think that was funny? Pat, unfortunately I also know people who voted for this aberration because they could not bring themselves to vote for Hillary. I don't believe it was because she was a woman (well, not the ones I know personally). But they genuinely believed all the hate rhetoric that had been heaped on Hillary since Bill first came into office as well as all the conspiracy theories, etc. They swallowed all of Fox "News" negativism, and here we are. They didn't vote for JA in the primaries (the people I personally know), and really shocked me when they voted for him in the general. They said at the time that he was the lesser of two "evils." Now, however, those same people who really surprised me voting for him have somehow become die hard believers and can't get enough of the Kool-Aid. It's like I don't know who they are anymore. So yes, I think he most definitely could get elected again, and I'm very much afraid that he will.

The lesser of two evils? That makes sense. Cast your vote for a egomaniacal rich guy who knows nothing about politics and expect him to do a better job than someone who was a state senator and a First Lady and is a brilliant woman.
I'm not buying it. But that's just me.

Please tell me I haven't finished my coffee yet so my mind is not working clearly enough. Surely I did not just read an article on the CNN website that McConnell may just bring the impeachment charges to a vote in the Senate and dismiss them without having an actual trial. Did I read that wrong? Is that possible? I thought the Senate was required to have a trial.
"It could go down the path of calling witnesses and basically having another trial or it could decide -- and again, 51 members could make that decision -- that they've heard enough and believe they know what would happen and could move to vote on the two articles of impeachment," he said. "Those are the options. No decisions have been made yet." -- McConnell
