In any actual court, do you think they coordinate with the defendant about how the defendant wants the trial conducted? If someone connected directly with the trial and in a position to influence the trial's outcome wife was working and reporting directly to the defendant do you think that person would be allowed to remain a part of the trial? But that's just par for the course around here. McConnell is as crooked as they come and is not one bit better than the JA other than that prior to the JA he tried to hide it a little bit better. Kentucky, how can you tolerate this man? He just makes my skin crawl.

The Republicans abandoned any pretense of caring about or following the Constitution a long time ago. Their sole focus is to remain in power. Pompeo and Barr both have an evangelical bent, I think, and for them like the rest of them, the end justifies the means. Their most important goal is to take over the courts IMO. They have pretty much achieved that one already. RBG, hang in there, please!

The regular Evangelicals, the voters, are putty in the hands of liars and thieves. Why? Because they're brainwashed to trust and obey. No matter what. They don't need to Think or Reason. All they have to do is believe. Believe their God is in control, He works in mysterious ways. Keep on trusting and obeying. Never question or doubt. Never.
I think this is the sin of taking the Lord's name in vain. Sticking Gods name on a twisted and evil plan to take over a country, divide a nation, and destroy democracy. It's sinful and disgraceful. A lot more evil than shouting out Gods name because you slammed your hand in a car door.

I don't know about all of you, but I'm looking forward to a good day despite the political situation and despite our wet, gloomy weather. DD is hosting an extended family on my dad's side Christmas gathering/dinner/just a lot of fun party, and I'm really looking forward to that. So JA you are completely out of my thoughts today. Judge orders 234,000 voters removed from the voting rolls in Wisconsin. Instituted, of course, by a "conservative" group. If Republicans think the JA can win the election fairly, why do they always work so hard to keep people from being able to vote? Said with the utmost sarcasm.

Fair is not a word in the republicans vocabulary. Their game plan and favorite word is deceit.
Many of their supporters are fine and dandy with it. Or, too stupid to see it.
None are as blind as those who will not see.

Pat, I don't think JA supporters care one way or the other about fairness. For them its all about "those damn Liberals" taking over the country & what they perceive as" their "rights. They believe every conspiracy theory out there because it fits their agenda that "they" aren't being treated fair by anyone, & it feeds into their paranoia about this, that & everything. As long as the unfairness is happening to all those they hate because of skin color, sexual orientation, religion, etc they could care less about laws & morality. Wait until the tables are turned because of what JA is doing to this country & they finally get slapped with reality, they will whine & cry & perceive themselves to be martyrs ....oh, that's right, they already do. Not sure that makes sense. I know what I want to say, just get the right words out to make sense of it all....LOL

I feel like we are heading into a Theocracy enabled by an amoral asshole. You can't make this stuff up. If it wasn't happening I would never think it possible.

Our Founding Fathers did everything they could to keep belief systems out of government. Wise men who knew the horrors of mixing the two. They knew belief systems or superstitions were deadly and dangerous to a democracy. For the experiment to work they had to be kept separate. Democracy would crash and burn if religion had a say in it.
Wise men aren't the only people who know this. Evil people know it too!
While our Founders insisted on the separation of state and church for democracy to grow and flourish, evil men who long for a king and the end of democracy, insist on uniting the two.
You can call me paranoid. Lol. Just remember even if you aren't paranoid they are still watching you. Lol.
Linda, what you wrote was crystal clear and made perfect sense. Every word was the truth! Scary but true.
How can reasonable people hear or see anything else?

I heard a commentator this morning say that as many as 17 Democrats may vote against impeachment! I wonder if that is true. I don't want them to simply vote along party lines (as the Republicans are going to do), because this is far too important for that. But how is it possible that many could truly think he has not committed these offenses or that they are not worthy of impeachment? I don't believe it is possible, which means that they would have to be voting simply to keep their jobs because they're afraid of being voted out of office by JA supporters. If that's the case, then they surely deserve to be voted out of office. We've already seen that the oath of office means nothing to the JA or to Republicans. While I am expecting there will be some Democrats who join in that cowardly bunch, I truly hope it will not be that many because if so that is worse than just a travesty. Not just that they vote against impeachment, but because it is a blatant sign that they are there for a paycheck and the perks of office and absolutely nothing else.

The Dems voting against impeachment could argue they are reflecting the wishes of the folks they represent.

They are covering their own behinds. They are afraid of the mad king.
While it's comforting and patriotic to still believe we are a democracy, a free society, and all our elected officials, including the president, are there to do what's best for We The People, the writing is on the wall in BIG BOLD letters, that is not necessarily true anymore.
Resistance is futile. IMHO, of course.

The Dems voting against impeachment could argue they are reflecting the wishes of the folks they represent. They could, but I don't believe it is true. I think it's just a handy argument used for convenience. Whenever they vote against something their constituents want they tell us that they are voting their conscience. At least that's what mine say. If I believed for even a moment that they truly believe this JA has not committed these acts and earned impeachment, I would be disappointed they don't agree with me but I would accept it. But I don't believe that. I think they're all afraid of angry tweets. I think they're afraid that those who voted for them and wanted what they were supposed to represent as a Democrat will not be strong enough to stand up to the JA's base the next time they're up for re-election, and that cushy seat is just too important to them. I'm beginning to believe that we should just stop administering an oath of office, because I don't think they even listen to what it says much less try to practice it. They live in fear of a bully. I live in fear of that same bully, but the difference is I refuse to let him bully me without fighting back the only way I can. So I continue to write my Congressman and my Senators who all three sold out long ago.

I agree with you, Joyce. Oaths are a joke. So is putting your hand on a bible and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
I won't do it. If I had to place my hand on a bible or take an oath to tell the truth, I'd refuse. I will tell the truth without my hand on a book of letters, or crossing my heart and hoping to die, or making a pinky swear. Lol.
If you don't believe I'm going to be truthful without these silly rituals then I'm going home and you will have to pick somebody else.
So there. Take that. Lol.

It's just all broke. The whole system seems to have fallen apart. You have Barr in the Justice Dept making sure things work the way JA wants them, you have Pompeo in the State Department doing the same, you have McConnell & Graham making sure the Senate & Judiciary Committee are fixed, you have JA in the WH getting paid off by the Russians to make sure the next election & others will probably never be fair again & you have all the JA supporters turning into people who I don't even want to associate with anymore. Watching a clip of the Army/Navy game where cadets are opening displaying the "white nationalist" sign behind the backs of black cadets & out in the open for any video camera to capture, tells me, these supporters are growing in strength & number & aren't afraid of displaying their racism out in full public view. No one will do anything about it anyway, so they become braver & braver. It just blows me away the brashness & the pure conviction that these JA supporters believe every conspiracy theory out there & that JA is making America Great Again. Must be some powerful koolaid, is all I can say.
Listening to Linsey Graham this morning make my stomach turn. What a hateful idiot he has become. I keep wondering who is holding what over his head. He is hiding something. He has to be, IMHO!
UGH! Just sad at the thought of it all.
