Hi everybody!
Thanks for thinking of me! We're doing fine. Getting through Newark was easy, no health screening just customs. My cousin who lives in NJ told me that Newark has had overhead thermal sensors for many years. I never knew that! My only concern is that the uber guy we had driving us home coughed a few times and seemed to have a runny nose, ugh.
It's been a week of self-quarantine for us. We have not left our condo this entire time. SO has gone to take out recycling and get mail from our lobby during off hours and makes sure he washes his hands before and after.
We've had multiple grocery orders delivered already from different sources. Thank goodness I had all of these places set up for the past few years. Have even managed to buy toilet paper, although we are set with what we had from before our trip for at least a few weeks.
I've been having the news on for hours every day, so frightening. They say the peak in Phila won't be for another 2-3 weeks. SO and I plan on staying in most of the time even after our quarantine is over.
Well I also have gained weight, and have not done any exercise since I left the ship. When I finish the quarantine I'll be able to go outside to do my walk.

Sue- so glad you are safely home- hope the cab driver was having allergies and not Covid 19!!!
Joan - we also are not going out of the house except for walks and gardening. I feel the same about ordering out. I ordered groceries Friday but could not get a pickup day until tomorrow evening. The grocery stores around here will not give you toilet paper unless you go into the stores- crazy! I finally found some on Amazon but it won’t come until May 19!!! I guess if we run out it will be Kleenex and paper napkins!
The Dpring weather has been so absolutely beautiful that you would never know from it that we are in a crisis situation. At least I can enjoy my yard. The pollen is terrible though. I washed off my front porch Sunday so I can enjoy it. I want to do the back deck and patio too- so we can at least cook out on the grill. I am so thankful for my outside areas. I was able to order some annuals to pot to be delivered Wednesday. Besides giving me something to e, it will cheer the place up.
My hair should have been cut a month ago- so guess I”lol just have to deal with it.
My Nursing school class is having our virtual 50th reunion in April and then will join the class after us next year.
Saw an airplane full of healthcare personnel from Emory flying to New York to help. I was surprised because I saw a list that said GA was in the top 10 in number of cases. I would think we need them here. I am wondering if they are medical and nursing students.
Everyone stay healthy! Love you all

Hi all,
Sue, glad you made it home without too much headache.
I’m still going into work. Several people are working from home. There are about 7-8 of us spread out throughout the library. We’re workinv on weeding old materials from the collection. There are a lot of old textbooks from the 60s-80s. We are getting a log done that we don’t normally have time to do.
I am also walking to and from work. It is about a mile each way. It’s good exercise and I hope it will help me shed this weight I’ve gained from meds in the last couple of years. None of my clothes fit, especially summer stuff.
I’m also knitting through my stash by doubling some yarn I have. These will go to the holiday sales that I participate in.

So we are all back home again! I am on day 16 with no contact with outside world other than taking my clay over to friend who is firing it we chatted from a distance and I accessed her yard thru the side gate. Tomorrow will pick up and have lots of glazing to do.
check fever twice a day— it’s alway 98.2.
will be gaining here — I had to have something sweet tonight so got some frozen rhubarb out from a couple years ago and made rhubarb muffins— they are so darn good.
I finally got to a person with British airways and they refunded our 900$ ticket fare for dgd19 to go to Italy
no word from Allianz about our plane and train tickets.
have started watching the doc Pandemic. It’s excellent and very educational— makes you realize how worried about this the scientists have been for years. On Netflix.
ordered groceries on line for pick up here and cannot pick up till Friday. Delivery was impossible. Pick up is free which surprised me. Of course now I realized two thing I should have added. Same here, paper products in person only. We are okay for a couple or three weeks. It’s making me used paper towels way less so that’s good for the environment!
beautiful weather here also but tonight we have a bit of wind— walked early this morning before people were out—avoiding our parks.

Hi all,
The hardest part for me is not knowing when this will end. I look forward to the day when there aren’t constant reminders to stay home.
I walked to/from work everyday this week. It really helps clear my head.

I hit a low point emotionally last night— same thing, Holly! I don’t see this ending for me for months and I really miss my friends so much. Could not sleep most of the night, cried a bunch— picking up and starting over today. Got our 2 1/2 mi walk in. Hopefully sleep tonight!

Hi all,
Weird times for sure. I have been doing a lot of knitting and binge watched Heartland, a “feel good” show on Amazon Prime. Work is busy as ever and grad school stuff has been going on as normal.
We’ll get through this. I think it gives us all a chance to step back and rethink how we do things.

Just lost my whole post
Holly - so sorry I missed your birthday. Happy belated! Hope it was as good as it could be in this time of isolation.
I have been working in the yard cleaning up all the mess from the terrible rain we had during the tornado threat. Thank goodness it missed us. My sister in NC had a huge tree just miss her house. Those poor people in Miss. and Louisiana lost so much!
I have gotten quite good at ordering groceries for pickup or having them delivered. I have gotten drug store items by mail or pickup from Target, Walmart and Kroger. Today got some toilet paper through mail from Amazon/ I would not buy any from China so it took me forever to finally get some made in the USA.
Yard work tomorrow again I guess.
I am going to be so fat ! I have baked cakes, cookies, cobblers and eaten a ton of chocolate. Got to get a grip on this!

Me too, JoAnne—put together some peanut butter batter today—has to chill overnight and then form into balls and freeze—finally bake after that—I made that NYT bread this week and it’s all gone. Yikes.
I sculpted/hand built a little girl this week and two cats to go with her—then today I made two candle holders for Christmas—hoping they survive drying as the tips of the trees are just a bit too thin—I’m not very skilled at handrolling clay. Wish I had a slab roller.. If this goes on much longer I may have to invest!; And feeling hopeless about this virus is really nagging at me- wondering if people my age will ever feel safe until there is a vaccine—and that could be more than a year away!
The tornados were terrible—so many killed—my friend in Charleston spent time in her closet—luckily missed where she lives. Holly, were you in a threatened area?
I am so, so tired—may have to go to bed.
Did you all watch Unorthodox? On Netflix—four episodes—it’s really good.

Hi!
Amazing how quickly time is going by. I've been doing a lot more housework/cleaning and more cooking. Finally getting set with supplies, the last thing that took awhile for me to get was powder dishwasher detergent, took me days! My dishwasher only takes powder. I now have a recurring grocery delivery set up every Monday, but they are out a lot of things and I need to go online many times to check if they restocked. Whole Food and Amazon Fresh will deliver but again, I have to check all throughout the day to reserve a time. I now have a good stock of paper products. Then I also spend a lot of time disinfecting all the grocery items, etc.
Being in the city, I don't feel comfortable going into stores yet. This whole situation is just crazy. Last week my HS friends, (2 Sues) and I had a zoom happy hour. I had never even done skype or facetime before. I'm also keeping in touch with a lot of cruise friends.
Weather is so strange, it is so much cooler now than when we first got back from our trip.
Holly, happy belated birthday! It's great that you are still busy at work and able to walk to work!
Jojo, you are probably getting good exercise with all the yard work and gardening.
Joan, I'm glad you were able to get your money refunded from BA, hope you get the rest of back as well. You sure are keeping busy with your clay work.
Well I've been buying a ton of bread, though I'm not going too overboard with eating it.
Things won't be normal for a long time, until we get a vaccine. One of my best friends from college is an ER doctor and her DH is one too. She said that she fears this virus more than ebola or sars, it's just so unpredictable and spreads so quickly. The economic disaster that we're in is mind boggling so many people will suffer.
Philly is starting to stabilize a bit. I'm checking the data every day, we're finally flattening out but it's still a couple hundred new cases per day.
Right now we're watching Dispatches From Elsewhere. It filmed throughout the city last summer and often right by my house! I saw them a lot. The show is pretty interesting.
