Hi everyone, my name is Angel, I live in Southampton UK - originally from London. I first started my weight watcher journey in September 2018, I lost 2 stone by December, then a further 1 stone (after I plateau'd for a while) by March or April the following year. I then had a depressive episode, and over the next few months I put it all back on plus 2 more - after I got through the depression, I was so angry with myself that all the hard work I put in was wasted, and I couldn't get my head back into the right frame of mind.
At last I'm ready to try again, I've been doing WW again for the past week and a half, and I've lost 13lbs.
I've only just found this forum, and I'm not really sure if I'll post that much, but I'll come and read and try to keep myself motivated. I'm doing the online version, just by myself, so counting points etc. I love the scan feature, and use it often when I'm shopping, though, I have trouble knowing how many grams of food to 1 serving, so if anyone knows how I calculate that, or can direct me to a page with the answers, I'd be very grateful.
Hopefully soon I'll be able to play properly with my Granddaughters in the garden, 7 year old Bella, and 4 year old Elsie. I've taken photos from just before I started, and measured myself so hopefully wont be too long before I can see the differences.
Good luck to all on their own weight loss journeys.

angelj60, Welcome to these boards! I was so angry with myself that all the hard work I put in was wasted, I've been on and off WW since 1971. I lost and regained weight many many times. I got to goal 3 times before this time, and I've finally (mostly) learned to maintain. I know what you mean about being angry, and thinking that the hard work you put in was wasted. Over the years, I've come to understand that all of the prior times that I worked hard and lost weight were learning experiences, though I might not have seen it that way at the time. The hard work wasn't wasted. I now consider my prior attempts at weight loss and maintenance to be practices. I had to practice so many times to finally "get it". But eventually I did. I've also gotten a lot out of reading about what others have done and how they've been successful. This forum is great for that!

Hello, π I am not sure if I am in the right place, I am in the UK and just joined WW, but every time I click on the "connect" tab, I get a 404 result.
Doing a search for WW forums, I find this one, but it seems to be US based. Is that the case? I can't seem to find a UK one. It is very strange.
Anyway, I have a lot of weight to lose (again, sigh) and I like to chat in forums for mutual support.π¬

moongladeowl, Welcome. Yes, we are US based, but you are still welcome to join us. We are not affiliated with WW - this board was created several years ago when WW discontinued their message boards. I don't know if anything similar was started in the UK at that time.

Thanks Itsrad, I would like to stay, it seems like a fun place. There doesn't seem to be anything similar in the UK, which is rather odd. π

moongladeowl, I don't know why, but I thought WW in the UK was called Slimming World - different programs?

No DotRen, Slimming World is a different organisation, we do have Weight Watchers in the UK, it is quite big over here.

Hi Everyone,
I am a returning member. In 2001 I lost 60 lbs on the Winning Points Program. I kept the weight off for 9 years. As we all know.. life happens! I gained the weight back and a few extra pounds. I am back and ready to get healthy, and I am hopeful to find support along my journey.
If it is to be, it is up to me!
