Bloomberg was heard talking in a private talk to banks that he's protecting them all. It was Goldman Sachs talk. Remember Hilary did that. It doesn't look good. Bloomberg would need win Wisconsin. Bernie is ahead.

Too little too late....JA is having a news conference on the Corona Virus. I suppose his stocks are taking a hit or something...
So, what if anything are you doing or planning to do to prepare for a pandemic. ?
DH & I were just discussing this this morning.

Well we may not have seen any blood on the stage last night, but it sounded like the backseat of the car when siblings are tired of the trip and striking out at each other about any and everything. I expected to hear, "but he touched my arm," or "she looked at me" at any moment. Really they all just needed to chill out and take a breath. For me, the most reasonable voices on the stage still came from Amy and Pete. Biden had his best debate performance. He was passionate, but debate is not his best medium. Still he made some good points. Bloomberg did much better than he did in Nevada, but certainly he couldn't have possibly done any worse. As it was he was still just mediocre at best, and to be honest when I heard that he backed Lindsey Graham's last campaign nothing he could have said after that would have resonated with me. Bernie was just Bernie but clearly he was not expecting boos from the crowd. He gets on my nerves punctuating each word he says with a wave of that right hand. I want to just get a sash and tie his hand down. Also his "Let us be clear . . ." has worn thin with me. LOL! Let's face it, Bernie just kind of gets on my nerves but I don't have anything really negative to say about him policy wise other than I don't think he can win, and if he does win I don't think he can implement his policies so it worries me that he might not be able to compromise and bring about consensus on anything. Elizabeth made a few good points, but I her attacks on Bloomberg are getting a little old. I want to hear something new about how she's going to get things done, not just "I have a plan for that." She would be better than Bernie IMO, but I don't see this going anywhere for Elizabeth. Steyer had a few good points, but I don't see him suddenly jumping to the forefront. It's time some of them drop out. These shouting matches are helping no one unless they might help the JA. lani, there you go with the highlights in a nutshell.

Joyce, LOL, no what I meant was what are YOU doing to plan ahead should Corona Virus become widespread here in US. I told DH we just need to make sure we have extra bottled water ,electrolyte drinks, basic cold supplies, etc, and chicken soup, on hand before it becomes a problem....Gosh, it really is something to think about tho, after Dr. Gupta said the virus stays on surfaces for days. That means everything you touch at a grocery store could be infected, etc. Living in a rural area I can only imagine how overwhelmed the clinics & hospitals will be. But, I told DH I'm not going to worry myself to death about it, but be aware & be prepared on a basic level anyway. I doubt there really is a whole lot to be done except be smart & stay home if one feels ill. I'm waiting for JA to blame Obama for all this. He is already saying its not his fault we are not prepared as we should be. Lordy, Lordy!

Linda, your plan sounds pretty much like the only defense that can be implemented on the individual level. It is scary. We're supposed to go on that Alaskan cruise the first week in June, and DH is already muttering that maybe that's not a good idea. I just keep saying wait and see, and if it looks bad we did buy the travel insurance in case something happened that we couldn't go. Keeping my fingers crossed, but that never helped anything. One of my friends is always very prepared for things. She keeps stocked in her attic water, the masks, the protective clothing, etc. I've always thought she was a bit overboard with all her precautions, but she may turn out to be much smarter than I had originally given her credit. I just saw where the masks are all sold out, and no one knows when they will be available because guess what, they're made in China. If it comes to our area, the only thing I know to do is follow your plan of staying home, keeping plenty of food, etc on hand so there won't be a necessity for going out. We do have telemed in our area so that would be useful to avoid the doctor's office. I've never used it, but I can see where it might get a lot of use if this really becomes the situation that we're being warned about. I've never used online grocery shopping either, but that might be useful. Do you have that in your area? Of course the virus is not the JA's fault, but I would feel much more secure if we had someone with any sense as a leader. Someone who could inspire us with confidence if nothing else. As it is, as long as he doesn't get sick he really doesn't care what happens to the rest of us. It always seems like he tries to cut the programs that are truly most necessary for safety. Instead we're going to get a wall that falls over and space cowboys.

You know JA didn't want infected Americans brought back here. Now Universities are urging or requiring their overseas students to come home. Italy is especially hard hit & many students there are from US. I wonder if they have to go into quarantine or will JA restrict them from even coming back home now. I see they are thinking of restricting air travel here in US.
I sincerely hope this scare makes it possible that from now on & whoever is President, there is a Virus/Bacterial Czar permanently & money readily available at all time for the CDC & other labs to keep ahead of pandemics if possible & not wait. JA says a vaccine soon...well, ya soon means probably a month or two to him & many Americans, but the head of some agency just said this morning, its going to take months or longer to come up with a vaccine since they don't even know what they are dealing with in this virus.
Do you remember what virus it was, that duct tape was suggested to keep us safe?...LOL...I remember at the time, I thought do I go out & buy duct tape to cover the whole house...LOL Now it wouldn't be a problem, since I make duct tape book marks I have enough duct tape to probably do that...;-) Boy would it be one colorful house all duct taped up...LOL
This is the chickens coming home to roost with all of JA cuts in funding, staff & agencies...Funny, that its the GOP who are yelling the loudest now about WH not being ready. Wake up peeps, he hasn't been ready on many things, but as long as it didn't hit home for them, it was ok.
Boy, wouldn't it be something, if this hits hard next Fall about Election time. I can see JA declaring himself President by cancelling the election. SCARY!!!

LOL! Linda, I'm picturing your house covered in duct tape. I don't remember what virus that was, but now that you mention it I do remember duct tape being cited as a response for some such situation. As for the vaccine, I heard either yesterday or maybe today some talking head saying that a vaccine at best was at least a year away. Of course, JA would probably tell us not to take it. After all, he did come down as saying that childhood vaccinations for measles, mumps, etc. were bad despite all the science telling him otherwise. He's a total idiot.

All the wars we had and continue to have. All countries killing people of other countries. Killing people because they don't believe in the same God/Goddess. Because they have different political views, the color of their skin, who they love or hate.
Ironic. Along comes a deadly virus (which I believe was created in a lab as a weapon) that can kill all of us along with innocent animals.
A very troubling time and the USA has an idiotic talk show host at the helm of our sinking ship.
He does now, and always will, care only about his own disgusting life. He's a babbling jerk.
A virus. A tiny little deadly virus more deadly than all our trillion dollar weapons. A virus. The ultimate weapon of mass destruction.
Germ warfare. From Science Fiction to reality.
Ironic and pathetic.

We still have the CDC and a pandemic response team? I thought the madman in the WH got rid of those meaningless agencies. I'd rather get rid of him.
