Bee Thanks. My leg hurts of course but it is just soon for me to say I'm recovered naturally. They are having me do more exercises each time they come which is good for me because I can also practice them when they aren't here. They came 3 days straight now I have a day in between which I think I need.Praying for you as well.
Cathy Taking it one day at a time is the only way to go.I'm glad you can stay in contact with your friends via app even if y'all don't get to meet every week.I hope they don't close your banks and I don't blame you for not going in if the lines are long.I mentioned that to my PT about days 3-5 being the worst and she said the 3rd day is definitely the worst and my legs are so tired tonight I can believe that.
Susi Just like Cathy said I'm taking it one day at a time.If it wasn't for the swelling and the support stockings I have to wear I doubt it would hurt as much as it does.I took out the pain catheter they had put in my thigh pre-op.It wasn't relieving pain like it should and bleeding more. The PT put another bandage over it to keep the blood from seeping any more and she liked that it was only dried blood this morning. This afternoon I took the bandage off to see what it looked like and it had stopped bleeding so I just took it off for good.I hope you were able to deliver things to Cheryl today even though you couldn't visit.

Ann Glad you had another good night's sleep.I don't normally sleep that well I'm used to it by now.One reason I can feel good about not tracking points and watch what I eat so closely is I'm a good bit under goal and wouldn't mind if I weighed a bit more than I do now.I don't plan on gaining all of it back of course and I'm not really going that far off.Just enjoying some of the good food church members brought to us.Thanks for continued prayers.
(((June)))Hopefully you can talk to your DM soon.
Ann I hope Lula feels better soon.I hope you enjoyed your hood walks.I know you are missing all the things you used to do.So far I haven't gotten cabin fever which surprises me since we would go somewhere just about every day.K got so frustrated in HEB today because he said it was like a zoo in there with way too many empty shelves so if it's not hurting I will try to get up in the PU and go to WM to see if I can find a few of the things HEB was out of.
(((MJ)))I read your comments about your life. You are doing the right thing even if it doesn't feel like it.I know the inactivity after all the things you have been busy with has to be unsettling.Prayers for you and Toots.

Mj What am I missing? Sending you lots of hugs. Will look to see what you posted in GD??? π Ladies, I am selfishly telling you all to please take care of yourselves in all ways.
Becky You are doing remarkably well if the PT can add new exercises with each visit. Yayyyyy! Sounds like your catherter is better out than in. Another important step forward in your recovery. You are NOT missing anything by staying out of the stores. Bigger crowds, more tension, more distracted shoppers with careless buggy wheels and antsy lil ones

Audrey Glad you enjoyed the evening with Rob's family.I find myself doing the exercises on my own if I happen to be up even though it's already been a 1 hr session.I know it will make me stronger.I will do the same tomorrow even though it's a rest day.The person who came the 1st day was impressed I was even dressed because she said most patients don't even get out of their PJ's the 1st day after surgery.I am as dedicated to my healing as I was losing weight and walking so I have that in my favor.I am also glad I had the surgery before they cancelled elective surgeries especially since the surgeon told me before I went home that was one bad knee.
June I hope the online teaching will go as smoothly as it can in a bad situation.
Susi I'm sorry for the work situation.I am sure it's necessary but doesn't make for a friendly work experience.
LaDonna I'm glad you enjoyed time with your friends even though festivities were cancelled.Your dinner sounds great.I'm sure work will seem strange. Thanks for the good wishes. After I'm up for awhile it does seem like it's more than soreness but God has this and he will get me through it so I always have that to hang on to.
Audrey Austin's mayor said the same thing at a press conference today. It's just hard to do that sometimes. That's nice for Laura to insist on doing all your errands. She just wants to make sure y'all are taken care of.
Thanks June.

Mj Found your post. Can completely relate. A wintry blast is a temporary shut down with a end in sight, and we know what to do, how to act.
You and Toots are pretty healthy despite everything. You eat well, move, and are engaged. Thaose are a lot of pluses. So there are elderly at risk, and then there are those who have stronger constitutions. Understand the concerns about your family and how close coronavirus has nipped around the physical and emotional edges of your lives. May angels watch over you and yours.

I am going to NOT diet and eat healthy food...yep...that is what I decided. Within reason...hopefully I wonder who will watch the children that are home from school if the parents are still required to go to work? Hm...
ANN: Hooray for a good night of sleep! I hope Lula gets better soon! My sister said that her veterinarian made a house call to give their dog vaccinations that were due but stayed distant from them as his wife is in self-quarantine after being exposed to the wife of someone who died of covid-19. Does your vet make house calls? I am skipping a haircut or two, too.
BECKY: So glad that you are on the mend, tube is out, no bleeding. It will start to improve soon pain-wise but it will take time to get back to "normal". I remember after the hysterectomy I would fall asleep in cars waiting with family outside stores. They said that surgery would take 6 months before "normal" was mine again. So...one day at a time and it sounds like you are a GOOD patient doing your exercises! Also...I had little appetite due to the pain pills...it definitely returned when pain pills were stopped. Do any of your stores have pre-order or delivery? Perhaps to avoid frustration you could call ahead and have the items you need/want ready to pick up rather than go into stores, be exposed to covid-19 and just go home with what you need?
JUNE: I agree with your comment on taking care of self! My niece posted that her son had a horrible reaction and nearly died from a common cold virus and that if she had not gotten him to the ER and into an ICU bed could have lost him (he is 17) and that people who go out and are careless with this epidemic will swamp the hospitals to the point that there won't be room to treat everyone so her comment was on line with yours...be responsible and stay home sort of thing. Glad you enjoyed your drive in the country. Hope you are able to talk to your mother and take her a care package. The blackboard software used to have a LOT of glitches...hope they have been ironed out. Good luck with using it for instruction!
AUDREY: You are wise to stay in touch via phone. I had a friend call yesterday and it was so nice to hear her voice! I am glad your son is home. Mine should be soon and since he has been abroad may also do the 14 day self-quarantine. I am sure his being home will be a good thing as his daughters school will close on Wednesday and my DIL is a nurse on call 24/7 "in case" even though she works in radiology. What a nice breather to be with family and laugh AND to know your children are there for you. My children have said if we need money or something they can send to let them know. How nice to have Laura say she will run all of your errands.
SUSI: It must be nice to be able to stick to your routine of exercise, ferals and work. How fun to be contemplating the pool/deck again. I am glad to hear where you work has implemented strategies that will help customers and employees safe.
MJ: Great post on the general discussion board! I can imagine how un-busy you must feel. Do you have projects to tackle?
PAM: I will have a healthy day and so will you!
LADONNA: It sounds like you had a fun weekend at the beach and a nice break from the craziness happening. I hope that everything will get sorted at work and with food prep. How is your daughter doing with the new job? Will they be closing or??? And your husband??? Stay safe!

Good morning all. Slept okay. Kept waking up and having strange dreams. This too shall pass.
Audrey I shall join you in staying put. KOKO is all I can muster at this point. I too reach out to those either via text or phone call. Whatever works.
Cathy great goal to focus on healthy eating. I was doing okay in that area, but went way off yesterday. Today will be different. This is a new Vet that we are going to, so not sure whether or not they make house calls. LuLa is up to date on her shots, so no problem there. If need be I shall call and inquire. Great suggestion and thank you.
Know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers as we tackle this together.
(((hugs)))

Ann - Hope the music soothes your soul. Becky - You are doing so well. So happy your PT staff is keeping you on track and you are willing and able to do the work. Glad you don't have to worry about your weight through this and that friends are helping. Glad the bleeding has stopped. June - Hope you are figuring things out during this stressful time. Hope the remote teaching goes well. I'm sure there will be glitches in the beginning Cathy - I hope that works for you. Hope you stay safe. I'm cancelling my wellness appointment tonight and will talk to the dermatologist about my body scan on Thursday. I have a hair appointment Saturday. I'm the first appointment of the day and it is a spacious, clean place so we will see. I hate living in fear but I don't want to be careless either.

Our governor wants folks over 60 to self-quarantine. Ms. Hermit here is sure a head of that game.
We now have over 100 cases of presumptive corona virus in our state. Mostly around New Orleans. I'm thinking Mardi Gras played a big part in this total.
Gonna take care of me.
Play in the dirt.
Watch what I eat, move and hydrate.
Praying for ALL.

Susi I know what you mean by not wanting to live in fear yet wanting to be safe. At times it feels like walking a tight rope. The soft music was very soothing. I've tried meditation but the accents and voices distract me.
Bee I am also ahead of the game in staying put. Very grateful for my hood walks that keep me centered.
I did a LOT of mindless snacking last night...didn't change a thing...but tasted good at the time. Today shall be different!
