((((Pam)))) praying for the best possible outcome for DD. Please keep us posted. We care!
That is a wise decision to take a run to the camp this weekend and empty it out. Enjoy your meditation time at church.
Woke up to overcast and fog. Supposed to rain but so far nothing. We do need to make a trip to pick up some supplies. We may do it today just to get it over and done with. Never thought shopping would become such a chore and life threatening event!!!!
Take care, all and I shall CBL.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! We woke to temps in the 60's, then the pouring rain started, and now it is windy and a cold front is rapidly approaching our area.
Yesterday I got in two walks - DH accompanied on the second one which was fun. I have done some stretching this morning. I got out my Instant Pot and made some hard-boiled eggs. I was down to one and they are a handy staple for us. Oddly enough, last time I shopped I picked up a dozen eggs only to get home and discover I already had a dozen - now I'm glad I did. I finished off one carton today and still have one (and four fresh HB eggs in the fridge).
Our Meijer store (which is usually open 24 hours) has reduced their hours to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. to allow time for stocking and cleaning; AND added special shopping hours for seniors on Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8 a.m. I don't need anything urgently, so I may very well wait until then to fulfill the list that is growing in my phone.
Last night we had the second half of the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. It was delicious! We still have a couple of meals at the ready in the fridge, but I am thinking it is time for a fish meal since we haven't had one all week. We can use up our salad makings while they're still fresh.
Pam ~ I think you are very wise to go to the camp and bring home your "valuables". That takes good planning. IF they do restrict our movements you would not be able to go. Hope things work out for your DD. I know we are all worried about our families at this stressful time.
I had received a reimbursement check in the mail and asked DH to drop it off at our Credit Union this morning as he had an errand to run anyway. I don't want to be hanging onto it if they close the CU. Isn't it a terrible thing to have to worry about that??
I plan to try to get out for a couple of hood walks today (in between raindrops) even though it is going to cool down dramatically. I may take my first one soon now.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue stay warm and dry on your walk. Hopefully you'll be lucky and it will wait until you get home before it starts up again. Here it's not raining...yet...looks like it's getting brighter out there. Just finished breakfast. We both had oatmeal with strawberries and split an English muffin. Not sure what's on the menu for supper tonight. It will have to be meatless. Perhaps tuna sandwiches with air fries. That sounds quick, good and easy Will be laving shortly to pick up the mail and take a hood walk. When we get home, we'll head on out and pick up what we need. ' Just found out that starting the 24th our Hannaford's supermarket will be open one hour early for seniors. Never thought I'd be happy to be 'of age' as my gramma used to say LOL. Stay safe all!

Hello all!
It is another warm, partly sunny day today. I took advantage and did my morning prayers and meditation in the great outdoors, as opposed to going to church. When I thought about having to wear gloves that might be needed worse later on, I changed my mind, even though I am craving the peace that being in my home church gives me.
I got up this morning and dressed and did my hair, but not much else has been accomplished. I did make us some tuna salad for lunch. DH's smoked ribs last night turned out great and we have enough left for dinner tomorrow night, so we won't have to cook after our long day. We plan to leave very early to go to the camp, pack up and head back home by early afternoon. All told, it will be a 5-6 drive, plus however long it takes us to pack up and haul stuff down 30 steps or the lift, which moves slowly.
I will do a little gardening this afternoon and perhaps take a walk. I have been fighting anxiety and depression and exercise always boosts my mood.
Sue - Thus far, banks and credit unions are considered essential services. Our credit union is encouraging mobile banking and has closed all lobbies, leaving drive-thru open. Stores here are also shortening their service hours. We have an online order scheduled for pick up at 7:00 pm. We will see how that goes and utilize it in the future so as not to go inside stores.
Ann - Your breakfast sounded so good I decided to put that on our menu for Sunday. We have oatmeal, strawberries and English muffins on hand. I'm glad your back is feeling somewhat better. Thanks for the prayers for DD!
Judy - So sorry about your glasses! Hopefully you get them back soon. DD1 made a picture schedule for Abby to follow, since DD is at work all day. It includes pictures for breakfast, getting dressed, hair-brushing, tooth-brushing, reading, online math skills, lunch, rest time, bathtime, etc. Yesterday, Abby face-timed her mom who was outraged that she was still in her jammies and her hair had obviously not been brushed. Abby said, "Mom! It said bath time." DD then realized it was 5:30 pm and Abby had bathed, washed her own hair and put on jammies. She apologized when she got home and Abby said, "It's okay, Mom. Just a small misunderstanding." Crazy times!

Pam crazy times indeed! Happy that you were able to sit outdoors and do your meditation and morning prayers. I do that every morning before Carl is up with a candle lit. It brings me peace and helps me to get centered for the day. Especially now! We went to Hannaford's and Walmart and both were a ZOO. Reminded me of when I was young and would venture out on Black Friday! Luckily we were able to get all but Clorox wipes that were on our lists. No biggie, as I do have some. I just figured while I was there I'd restock. Lunch is done.....Carl had pbj sandwich and I had a cup of veggie bean soup pita bread petite baby carrots and hummus. Now it's time to relax. I'll start by trying to either read or play a game and I know I'll end up napping Be safe!

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
My day has gone well. I took a walk this morning and ended up going out on the main street and down to the church nearby. Our school district is serving breakfast/lunch from there but I was in between the two times, so didn't see anyone I knew. It was a good longer walk though. DH and I took a mid-afternoon walk around the complex and picked up the mail, so I've had ample exercise today, as well as fresh air.
Pam ~ When DH came home and gave me the receipt for our deposit he told me only the drive-thru was open. He keeps disinfecting wipes in his truck, so when he took out his driver's license to put it in the tub, he wiped it down and the gal saw him and thanked him. Before she sent the tube back, so wiped everything down and they shared a sweet smile.
Judy ~ So sorry to hear about your glasses, but glad you can get them replaced. Hope your working from home is going well. Back in the years that I did medical transcription, I worked at home and LOVED it!! I got to make my own hours which gave me lots of freedom.
Ann ~ Your lunch sounded delicious! Glad you got your shopping done. I was going to go, but I don't want to fight the crowds (that I know will be there) so will wait until Tuesday morning. I'm not especially delighted about the 7 a.m. hour, but I may go at 7:30. It only takes me a few minutes to get the things I need.
DH and I have been watching the daily briefings with the President et al and picking up lots of good news. No, not necessarily "good" but we know it's factual. There are so many fabrications circulating. Two very good friends (on different days) told me with surety about a pending lock-down. Of course, none has happened nor have we heard anything from a reliable source about one. So I try to stay very far away from rumors and those who circulate them. One thing I have learned is that people mean well.
Since I'm pretty much self-isolated, I feel like I'm doing my part.
BBL. Make a great day!

Sue so happy that you got to take a nice hood walk. It finally got nice later in the afternoon. I saddled up Carl and LuLa and we took off. It was nice and sunny and warm What a treat to get out there and really stretch the ol' legs LOL. We only saw two other people walking which was good. We chatted (at a safe distance) and then went our separate ways. Sue I so agree about the 'flying gossip'....I take it with a grain of salt just like the 'flying monkeys' Time to sit and read a bit now. We just completed our census online. It wasn't bad at all. Wishing all a good sleeping night......

Hi friends,
I was glad to read that all of you are doing okay in this scary and wild new reality. I’m dealing with lots of stress and anxiety as I know you all are as well. Working from home keeps me busy-I think even busier than usual with so many things changing so fast. My friend who had her baby on Saturday in an area hospital called me last night in a panic as the evening news brought word that the same hospital now has 110 staff members and 100 patients under quarantine. She’s a basket case thinking she has been exposed. I tried to calm her fears. So much uncertainty.
Our stores all have senior shopping hours from 6-730 but the irony is that the seniors mobbed the different stores and there were long lines! I shopped at about 2 today and couldn’t wait to get out of Stop n Shop. I bought a lot but no eggs - luckily I have a dozen. We are stocked now. DH picked up lots of items at BJs, too. Premiere shakes, more cases of water, etc. I remember my parents talking about rationing during the war but at least they did not fear for their lives when they left the house and they had fun socializing with friends and having them over for dinner. Pam, I really feel for your DD1. What a jerk of a boss to rusk your DD’s health. She can’t fire her over this!!!! I hope she stays home. Glad you are headed to your camp for valuables. Smart since things will be getting more desperate for folks and vandalism could be on the rise.
Ann your good walks are great. I went for a nice stroll with the doggies. Getting outside helps a lot. Reading, doing puzzles, taking walks, watching movies and trying not to overeat!
Sue, glad you and your DH are taking strolls and making good meals. I like your neighborly ways , too! We all need to look out for each other . I do believe we’ll get through this and things will get better in the not too distant future.
The national guard arrived here today in large numbers so we all think we’ll be sheltered in place soon. Our DD is a wreck but applying for benefits.
Prayers and peace and blessings to you three! Judy

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We woke to temps in the low 20's and wind chill of 12. I may postpone my morning walk, but we'll see. DH did note yesterday that since we've been walking, his hips don't hurt, so that's good. I also slept well last nght except for the hour that DH got up and watched TV. I suspect his naps during the day took away his ability to sleep last night. He came back to bed and told me about Jimmy Kimmel broadcasting from a tent in his back yard with his two young daughters.
Ann ~ Glad you are sleeping well. I am still amazed at how healing a walk can be. That is odd because I've been a walker for years! But I had gotten away from it and am so glad now that I have that option. On my morning walk yesterday I got out my iPod and listened to some of my old favorite songs which was a real treat! I keep looking for things that cheer me, rather than vice versa. We just received our Census form and I plan to do it online today as well.
Judy ~ So sorry your friend has the added stress of being in a hospital where there is quarantine. You are so kind to reassure her. In regards the National Guard, there were several different rumors circulating here about a lock-down but yesterday our Governor went on TV and said she only activated the NG to help with distribution of food and medical supplies - that there was no imminent threat of a lock-down. She also admonished us NOT to believe everything being posted on social media (which is always a good idea LOL).
Pam ~ DH's VBF has had to completely close his restaurant which has contributed much to his stress level. Add to that he is sick (which is rare) and we don't dare come in close contact with him (which is sad) and his kids are away at school and not reaching out to him. One of them just came back from Florida (duh!).
We did hear that in the event of "shelter in place" we would still be allowed to grocery shop and walk outdoors, and that is all I'm doing right now anyway, so no difference here. I have been wishing I could go to the Red Cross and donate blood (of which there is a drastic shortage) as well as volunteer to help with distributing school lunches but I fear my age puts me in a "high risk" category? Very frustrating....
BBL. Make a great day!

Good morning! Im recommitting to my self improvement goals today and eating healthily and going for a walk, writing a few lines in the good old gratitude journal and a little organizing here. We toyed with the idea of driving to the Cape but decided we’d just as soon stay home since we will have to lug every single thing with us for food. Everything here is closed as I’m sure it is in your area except for takeout and I would just as soon cook at home for the most part. We did order a delivered pizza from a nice local small business owned place last night along with a great Greek salad to go with it. But I have a turkey breast to cook in the crockpot or Insta pot not sure which yet. I also have potatoes to mash, fresh asparagus or broccoli, and will enjoy the turkey later on. We have plenty of that great chili left as well for lunch. So it looks like nobody will nobody will be starving in this place today. Ha ha. Sue,you are right that we have to be careful not to believe everything we read as mass hysteria and panic surrounds us. I do believe that many of us will be sheltering in place before long to get this thing under a tighter control. And I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all. As you say, we are already doing that for the most part. It would be good to encourage some of the millennials and younger generation who are not taking it as seriously to hunker down and think about all the rest of the population. I am sorry about your restaurant owner friend and this has to be a hard hit for him. Is he able to stay open for takeout at all? For some people this is not even economically feasible, but for some of the larger places they seem to be managing OK for now. We watched a really good movie last night if you’re looking for a recommendation – it was called Motherless Brooklyn and it’s starred Ed Norton who directed and wrote it. It’s sort of reminded me of the old Chinatown movie with Jack Nicholson but in a different vein. Go to scape activity and it had something for all of us – a little love story for me, and a lot of action and suspense for both of us. I tried to send the three of you a very funny photo related to food struggles during this lockdown. I will try to send it again because I think it didn’t go through for some reason. Sometimes forwarding things is hard.
Pam, I hope your trip to the camp went well and that you’re not too tired lugging back all those larger type electronics and appliances, but I still think you’re very smart to do so especially if you’re worried about vandalism right now. Better safe than sorry - boy, that term applies to just about everything these days. This time is really one for the record books and I don’t think even our parents lived through this kind of stuff. Maybe our grandparents during the Spanish flu, but they didn’t have all these precautions in place and they lost so so many people. I know wars have been hard and rationing and so forth but this is just so strange and eerie to have the world at a standstill.
I am having some very weird dreams at night and I remember part of them and they seem to be about being lost or missing trains or losing my way so I guess that’s my anxiety showing up. I do like escaping into my books and reading and thinking about some positive things like all of you do. And I hold tight to the belief that this will be over and we will go on and things will get better, and the stock market will rebound and people will be happily working again! Positivity!
That’s about it for now, friends. I will be back! We each had an egg for breakfast, two slices of bacon and two slices of Dave’s killer 60 cal bread so we are set for a while and fortified!

Back again. Just having a very laid back morning. Completed all my desktop computer duties washed down both bathrooms and kitchen countertops did a load of laundry and swept the floor. My household chores (outside of the wiping down) are one and done for today! It's beautiful out there and when the mood hits, I shall take a nice long hood walk. Once I'm out there I'm good...it's the GETTING THERE that gets in my way LOL. Sometimes I can be my own worse enemy......... Judy I had to LOL on nobody starving at your house. We happily and gratefully fall into that category. We have leftover chicken which I shall turn into chicken broccoli Alfredo with garlic sticks and a salad for supper. Nothing like good ol' comfort food to put a smile on my face. It doesn't take much at all. I hear you on not wanting to travel to the cape. Here the only places opened are pharmacies and supermarkets. I am so happy that Hannaford's is going with the senior hours starting on the 24th. Luckily for us our pharmacy is right next door. I heard that a lot of the restaurants in town are only open for take out but that doesn't interest me at all. I'll cook at home.

I am showered and dressed, and took my first hood walk for the day. At least the sun is shining and that horrific wind has decreased!
Judy ~ You are right about the panic and mass hysteria that surrounds us. While we do follow the news, I try to mix it up with reading some and playing my iPod when I walk. Today I spent some time with Johnny Mathis and Jane Oliver and it made me smile all the way around. I take this situation very seriously, but also know I need to protect my mental and emotional health. I have a history of being a worrier and cannot let myself go back there. My DH says worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere. It is very true!!
Ann ~ I also struggle with GETTING OUT THERE. Once there, I'm happy as a clam! Today I had my mind made up that I would shower and dress then GO! So I did!! DH and I have been seeing commercials for Checkers spicy chicken sandwiches on TV. We have never been to or eaten Checkers - but today while he was out he picked up two for our lunch. No idea how many SP that is, but it sounds like fun! We are also eating very well over here.
DH also brought home the new Kit Kat Mint Candy Bar, so we will be treated very well today. We keep seeing that on TV as well, and now it will be off our minds. DH and I will be taking a hood walk this afternoon.

Sorry to have cut my last post short. I got a call from our neighbor and she told me the sad news that her DH has cancer. My heart goes out to both of them. Please keep Steve in your prayers. They just moved here last year. Both originally from New England and moved to Florida. They buried their son last year due to cancer and moved back here. I am heart sick over this news. They are the couple that we spent Thanksgiving with. That seems like YEARS ago.......
Sue sometimes my naps also make me sleep poorly. It's hard to balance that out. I get tired during the day...don't mean to nap, but all of a sudden I find myself AWAKE and my kindle is sleeping LOL. Hope the census goes well for you. So sorry to hear that your friend had to close his restaurant. Such a sorry state of affairs we are dealing with. DH and I used to always give blood. We were notified awhile back that due to cut backs the closest places for us to donate would be in Worcester or Springfield which are both too great a distance away. I hated to give that up as we enjoyed helping others.
Love DH's rocking chair analogy. So true. Thanks for sharing. I'll think of that whenever my mind goes 'dark'. It will put a smile on my face.
When I walked solo I used to use my mp3 player. I had a lot of upbeat songs to walk to. Now I just wave at people and do my thing with Carl and LuLa.
I finally DID get out of my own way and we went for a walk. It does feel good. I shall go again later on in the day.
Time to think of lunch. I'm leaning toward the rest of the tuna salad from last night and some cut up cukes and carrot sticks on the side.
Waving and will CBL
