Good morning all!
I slept a full 8 hours and feel refreshed. I will go out shortly for a walk on this beautiful sunny day. DH is in the garden and we have windows open, airing the house. Pest control notified they will come today, but only check the outdoor bait traps. They seem to be working, as I have not seen sign of a mouse in the house since they were put out. The lawn service should also be coming and the lawn really needs it. Clover grows really fast at this time of year.
No new updates on DBIL yet, but we are fairly confident he has crossed the worst of it. His oxygen levels are pretty good. Still trying to get his blood sugar regulated, but I am thinking that won't happen until he is over this. They have not received the test results yet, but the doctor told DSIL it is pretty certain that DBIL has CV and that she will have it, too, so keep the prayers coming, please!
Tonight I will have boiled crawfish (takeout) and DH is still debating what he will have. My lunch will be canned salmon and a salad and fruit. I am trying to remind myself it IS a Friday in Lent, so I should be eating light.
Off for my walk! BBL

Also back from walk #1 It's absolutely beautiful out there today. Plenty of sunshine blue sky and no wind. I loved it Walked 2.5 miles and will go out again later on. Miss LuLa surely does love sniffing around. We still have some left over snow that I'm sure will melt today or tomorrow. One can only hope LOL. Great job on your walks, Sue. Yes we can only do this thing one day atta time. Too overwhelming to think of the entire picture! What came to mind was that old commercial...Us Taryeton Smokers would rather fight than switch LOL...Never smoked those but I do remember it. Will WILL get through this. There is nothing like uplifting music and songs that you hear again to relive the moments....win win in my book. LOL this 'hero' is taking a back seat today. I've stripped the bed and did laundry did the new normal of wiping down everything and after this post I plan on bellying up on the sectional and relaxing. Pam so happy you slept well and woke up refreshed Such a wonderful blessing. Hope you hear good news from pest control. Also glad that your lawn service is still working and coming to take care of what needs to be done. Keeping DBIL in my prayers and thanks for keeping us posted. Tonight we are having tuna sandwiches and air fries. Light and easy peasy and in tune with the Lenten season. Judy hope your trip to the Cape is a good one. Check in when you can.

Good news and bad news:
Good news-DBIL is doing MUCH better and is being discharged.
Bad news-DSIL has it now.
Good news - she seems to have a much milder case, but is feeling well enough to make the 4 hour round trip to pick up DBIL at the hospital.
I walked a little over 2 miles and then had a shower, as I was dripping in sweat. Watching the Governor's live report on tv. We're up to 2,746 cases and 119 deaths. There is still only one case confirmed in our parish.

Pam ~ Good news that your DBIL is recovering and even though DSIL has it, she has a mild case.
The sun finally came out here and DH and I got out for an afternoon walk. My scale continues to downward slide for which I am very grateful. I am finding it easier to govern my eating being at home. Tonight we are having leftover pork loin, couscous with peas & carrots, and cinnamon apple slices. My lunch was a HB egg and a tangerine and a Nature Valley Fruit & Nut bar (Dark Chocolage Cherry). I will end my day with SP leftover as I usually do.
Make a great evening and good night's sleep!

Pam keeping DSIL and DBIL in my prayers. It's good that she has a mild case. Keep us posted. I haven't listened to news today. Just when we take a walk and getting information from those that want to talk. It's frightening to say the least. Sue your supper sounds good. Glad that you and DH got a walk in. It's been sunny all day long. We are about ready to take our last short walk of the day. Nice that your scale is going in the right direction Enjoy your evening all.

Happy Saturday WW friends. Slept well again last night. I'm liking this pattern Today will be more of the same. Plan track move hydrate or as I say PTMH! Going to be another nice day so will get plenty of steps in. I also have a few household chores to do. Supper will be left over beef with veggies that I made in the instant pot. Quick and easy. Waving and wishing all as stress free of a day as possible.

Hi all,
Such a frightening time, Pam, we’ve been seeing on the news how severe the cases in Louisiana are now. I’m glad your DBIL is recovering but sorry about your DSIL and hope her case stays mild. It’s such a sneaky virus. I will send you all the best explanation I’ve seen to date about COVID-19.
We plan to take a trip to the Cape today for an overnight. I’m even nervous about traveling at all and don’t plan to stop for anything. We had a takeout pizza last night from our favorite spot. Hopefully no one is infected at the restaurant but I heated it up over 400 degrees for awhile again. 😄
its a a beautiful day today so I hope to get out for a couple walks. Yesterday I walked the doggies a few times and sat in the deck in the sun to read once my work was done. I had another Zoom call with several coworkers who are friends. We shared laughs and commiserated about confinement. Some have young kids, some teens, some are busy sewing masks, some baking and cooking a lot daily, some not cooking a bit- lol. Everyone is coping in their own ways. I do feel it has to be so hard to homeschool while you are trying to referee sibling rivalry and work full time.
Sue, send me your good “juju “ about keeping eating under control while being home full time. I find it very hard! At work, I just don’t have access and at home, the fridge and cupboards are way too close to where I sit. But, thankfully we don’t have sweets around - only ice cream which isn’t a huge temptation for me.
I’m glad you liked the music. Music works wonders to lift my mood. I’m also going to do another free Silver Sneakers Slow Yoga class.
Ann, yay for you to have walked so much! Our digs are pretty lazy and would balk at having more than a few minute walk. Lol. They get hot and pant at anything over 50! True British dogs!
Ttfn and have a great day!

Good morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! This being confined is starting to wear thin, but we both agree that falling sick is not an option with our health care system so overloaded right now. So we are doing our part by staying in.
I took a double walk yesterday morning, and then DH and I took a hood walk in the afternoon. I don't know about today as we woke to horrific rainstorms this morning (that DH told me had been in the night also). I saw considerable water out my front window this morning. If it stops, I may venture out for a hood walk.
Judy ~ Enjoy your get-away to the Cape. Safe travels!! In Michigan we are prohibited from "nonessential" travel (by order of the Governor) so hopefully people are staying put. Sounds like you are using your time well. I was able to get my mind wrapped around weight loss in the beginning of this. VBF and I had been to WW for WI and each set a goal for the end of May. I am well on my way to meeting that now. It wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit to exceed it.
Ann ~ Enjoy that walk. The roast in the Instant Pot sounded good. I have a package of Eye of Round steaks that I did in the Instant Pot before, so the next one will get out soon.
Pam ~ Hope your DBIL and DSIL are progressing well. They are in my prayers as you are.
I have been cooking up a storm this morning. I made oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast. Then I put together a Breakfast Casserole (that has to sit overnight) which I will bake in the morning. It will also yield 3-4 more breakfasts for us. It freezes well. I will be making a Venison Chili Mac for supper which will yield leftovers for the freezer as well.
I had a new loaf of Dave's Killer Bread (thin) in the freezer but the other day when I went to Meijer I found only 2 loaves on the shelf, so I grabbed one. DH usually eats Whole Foods Seeduction bread but it is a distance from us so don't know if he'll venture that far. I may be glad I have enough Dave's to share.
I think while nothing is falling from the sky I will venture out to stretch my legs.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Happy late morning all. Already been out once today. Not sure how many walks I'll get in today as 'they say' rain! We had a few moments of sunshine but that's all gone now. Oh well. I'll do what I can do to keep my sanity. The walking in the fresh air and the chatting at a safe distance is a blessing. We saw an older couple that we've been quite worried about as they are not in the best of health strolling along. It was nice to see them out and about. We had a few good belly laughs about TP Judy I hear you on the refrigerator and cupboards calling your name. Fortunately for me where I've been retired for a good many years I know to put cotton balls in my ears or as one of my wise leaders (back in the day) used to say...if snacks call out to you...change your name LOL. At times I am tempted which is why I try to stay busy. I know...easier said than done. It's wonderful that you have a handle on the computer apps where you can chat with those that you know. I bet that comes in handy. Re: LuLa...when it's hot and humid she will not walk for long. We also carry ice water for her to drink. It was the same way with Luigi. Boston Terriers are not lovers of the heat. I think I must be part Boston LOL. Thanks for the link. I shall check it out. Sue enjoy those round steaks. I still chuckle when we first got them and cooked them on the grille. YUCK. Shoe leather indeed I'm glad that the cooking bug hit you. I love casseroles. I need to go 'freezer surfing' to see what's in the way back before I add anything to the mix. Pam keeping DBIL and DSIL in my prayers. Take care all and stay safe.

I did get out for a walk after all. When I started getting ready, it was dry. But by the time I dressed and made the bed, etc., it was raining pretty good. I had on a rain coat and grabbed an umbrella hanging in the garage and went anyway. I got one hood walk done and we may try for another one if we get a break in the rain.
DH found plenty of distilled water at Kroger and brought home 3 jugs. I already had 3 in the garage (plus one open one in the house). I can resume using my humidifier at night (which mostly what I buy it for). I also use NeilMed saline sinus rinses every morning but that's only about 8 oz a day so I wouldn't have run out.
We had a fabulous lunch ..... DH offered to make salads and I warmed up a can of Progresso Light Chicken Pot Pie soup. Our tummies are happily full without many calories at all. We found some "new" (to us) channels on our cable system and one of them shows movies. This afternoon we are going to watch "Rebel Without A Cause" .... and this evening "Funny Girl". I have seen it many times but DH has not seen it. It feels good to have a plan. I have the venison chili mac simmering on the stove so when it is supper time we just have to warm it up and eat.
Good afternoon to all ......

Judy ~ Thanks for the link. I just got time to sit and watch it. How very well done!! I loved her presentation and will keep it and probably watch it again. She was spot on and clear & concise.
Well, it has been 2 weeks since I had my nails done. Last night I sat with an emery board while we watched TV and filed them down some. I will wait until they grow out more before removing my polish and replacing it with something very neutral. But meanwhile I didn't want to have them long and tapping on my keyboard. Maybe someday I will be able to get them done again?? <LOL>
We heard from DH's VBF's kids that they are headed Up North with their mom. Our Governor last Monday issued an order for no "non-essential travel" and somehow I don't this this meets that criteria. Oh well, she is the adult in that family and should know better. Two of the kids recently came back from Florida, and the others from North Carolina. Hopefully they are not spreading anything to otherwise unaffected areas??
I really do not mind following the rules and it gives me some measure of comfort to do so.

Judy I also watched and thank you for sharing.
Sue I have no problem following rules. Praying they are safe in their travels.
Just got back from walk #2. Still no rain here and the sun is in and out.
Enjoy your movies. We've seen both. Your lunch and supper both sound tasty to me.
I am going to sit and read. Enjoy your day all.

Hi all,
I haven’t made it out for my walk yet, but I hope to before the rain sets in. I’ve been busy doing this and that and I even got around to baking a batch of vanishing oatmeal cookies which is a recipe I received from my cousin. Unfortunately, they probably will be vanishing around here which may not be a good thing! They have coconut, oatmeal, raisins, chocolate chips, and the other usual ingredients including cinnamon. If I can get some self-discipline, and ration them out, I’ll be OK. But unfortunately I’ve already done a bit of damage with them as soon as they came out of the oven! 🍪 That is when I like the most! I will find them easier to resist now that there safely in the cookie jar.
I’ve done some laundry, DH put new sheets on the bed, and I vacuumed all of our little basement tv area and even took all the cushions off the couch and used the attachment to get the dog hair off. Lol Doug and Daisy like to lie on that sectional sofa in the basement and watch TV sometimes and they leave their furry little evidence when they leave. It’s all nice and clean now.
We nixed the idea idea of going to the Cape. We decided it was not necessary, and we just don’t have the ambition to load everything up to go just to do the same things we are doing here. We can’t really go out there, everything is closed, and I wouldn’t even want to try to negotiate any of the grocery stores there since generally they’re crowded even off-season since there are few of them in our vicinity. So, here we are at home reading, baking, cleaning, and watching different TV shows.
So, I’m sorry about the situation with your friends children and the relationship with their mother as well. She doesn’t seem to have a lot of good direction to give them. I’m sure they were really miss their dad because he sounded like he had such a good sense. I’m glad they have you and your husband in their lives and I’m glad they stay in touch with you on such a regular basis. I guess it is out of your hands, so try not to worry about it. Like your husband said worry doesn’t really get us anywhere. But, we’re all still pretty good at practicing worry! 😫 Oh, my nails are driving me crazy, too. I have the pink sparkle dip powder and I haven’t a clue how to remove that polish. Ann, glad you got out. I’m off to try to burn off my cookies! Good grief! Ttfn

Hello WW friends! I will admit I haven't tracked in more than a week and am up and down with my weight and my eating. I am trying, but not too hard. Even so, I was down .2 at WI this week after 5 weeks of little gains. I took another walk today and finally got my pretty little coleus plants into the front flower bed, so I have at least gotten up and around some. The hostas are finally coming up, too, so my flower bed should be pretty soon. I have two more that need work and flowers. I chatted with my older brother this morning on my walk. He lives just 2 houses down, but we rarely visit back and forth. I don't know why, as we are all on good terms. Just busy with our own lives, I guess, though we sometimes chat after church. His wife is immuno-compromised so they have been staying very close to home. He told me our younger brother had reported that the police had to break up a party in my nephew's neighborhood that had been going on for 2 days. A bunch of young idiots partying, boiling crawfish and thumbing their noses at the governor. Apparently, the neighbors finally had enough and complained to the authorities. I guess it's "natural selection" at work. Unfortunately, these people making unwise choices will take down innocent people who are trying to follow the rules. DBIL & DSIL (in Idaho) are both at home recovering. Except for nasty coughs and DBIL being "weak as a kitten", they are doing okay. Louisiana's CV case count continues to grow by 500 or more cases per day. We have 2 confirmed cases in our parish, with many more suspected. It's taking over a week to get test results in most cases. I enjoyed my boiled crawfish last night and have enough meat left for a salad later. I had a PB2 & all fruit sandwich for lunch with baby carrots and a banana. Tonight, DH will grill us a steak, which we will split, and I will bake potatoes. I saved a few baby beets when I thinned them out in the garden and we will have those, too. DH noted my efforts seem to have worked and the beet crop is growing nicely now. We have watched a couple of episodes of Jack Ryan today. So much violence! I laughingly told DH he was not helping my stress level. Last night I watched an Australian movie on Prime called Unfinished Sky that was pretty good. I had to turn on the subtitles though, to make sense of what was being said, lol. Sue - Funny Girl is one of my all-time favorites. I know the sound track by heart. It came out while I was in college and my friends and I saw it more than once, a big deal, since we didn't have much money. For my 21st birthday, one friend gave me the closest thing he could find to a blue marble egg and it still sits on my dresser. I hope your "kids" arrive safely at their destination. I guess it's natural to want to be with family at such a sad time. Ann - I definitely need to "change my name" when that extra glass of wine calls, lol. You are so faithful in your many walks and I am always amazed at the number of steps you manage to get in each day. Judy - Thanks for the link. There is so much bad information on facebook and people just keep re-posting it over and over. Like you, I am trying to stick with legitimate sites. You and DH probably made a wise choice, though the change in scenery at the Cape might have been nice. I would love to be at the camp right now, but Mississippi officials are making noises about all the NOLA people escaping to the MS Gulf Coast and I can't say I blame them. Besides, I have trouble making the trip without a bathroom stop, which I want to avoid, so home we will sit. Have a great evening all!
