I won't watch Trump. He is such a liar and is so perfect he thinks now son in law is coming on telling state pot on stuff s not for states. who is it for then. but there will be a fourth disaster bill. Mitch said there will be. I saw that in a rerun. For 2 hours I don't watch news except for local. A judge ordered absent ballots can be returned by the 13th and the election can not be called until the 13th. The governor wants a special session to mail everyone ballots to return who did not ask for one. But the republicans in the legislature wont extend the primary. The mayor wants ballots mail to May 19th and to beer returned the 28th. But the legislature both houses is republican and they are appealing the federal judges opinion that ballots can be sent by the 13th not the 7th.

Our city mayor and also the county mayor have just jointly issued new directives, again considerably stronger than the Governor's. You are not allowed to be out for anything that is not essential. If you need groceries or to pick up food or medicine only one family member can go. Stores that are allowed to be open must have one entrance and one exit and limit the number of people allowed inside at one time, then must keep customers 6 feet apart in addition to rigorous sanitation rules. You are to stay at home or in your yard. The police have been empowered to enforce. If you are stopped and found not to be in compliance, it is a misdemeanor with a fine of $2,500 and can include jail time of 11 months and 29 days. I guess both mayors have just given up on the Governor, and they're preparing for the worst. My city is the hub for all of West TN outside of Memphis. People from the entire western portion of the state depend on the healthcare facilities here, as hospitals in the small towns are just that -- small, and a number have even closed down. The ones there often primarily operate as ERs and stabilize anything serious before transporting here. The hospitals here stopped allowing any visitors long ago, and won't allow anyone in the ER other than the patient unless it's someone that requires an adult with them. Then it's only one adult, and it's been that way now for weeks. It sounds like they're expecting things to get very rough. I hope people will cooperate and follow the rules. There are a LOT of Trump supporters in my area, and several of them still think it's all a hoax and being blown out of proportion to defeat Trump -- in my dreams!

HA...LOL Who knew that JA=jackass was the right nickname for the thing in the White House. So, he's back firing people for revenge in the middle of the night again! What's that old proverb about the scorpion stinging the frog halfway across the river -- it's his nature. Yep! This is certainly this JA's nature. He just can't help himself, and wouldn't even if he could. Dare to stand up, and sooner or later you'll be gone. I think the only reason he hasn't already tossed Dr Fauci is that he thinks it would be bad for him politically, but as soon as he can Dr Fauci will pay the price of not having robotically agreed with him.

I listened to some of the WH presser yesterday (as I was doing a puzzle!) and was disgusted by Trump's treatment of some of the reporters, especially one female who never did get her question answered. Also why did he make such a big deal about his choice to not wear a mask? It sure is all about him.
I'm not sewing any masks as we have a few I bought years ago after some scare - maybe the end of the world (2000?). The military has put up a temporary hospital next to our local one this week.

Well, he has been tested twice and come up negative both times, so as the idea of mass mask-wearing is to prevent the wearer from spreading the virus, it actually makes sense for him not to wear one. However, I don't think his tiny mind went that far; he just doesn't want to cover up his mug.

I saw some TV pundit, can't recall which one, who said he ran as a chaos candidate and we got a chaos presidency. That about says it all. Now everyone with a brain is desperately trying to bring a semblance of order out of chaos. So we can, like, survive. Not that good folks weren't trying before, but the stakes have gone way, way up.
The WSJ is still printing editorials complaining about the economic consequences of shutting down the country. They don't come right out and say how many deaths they think would be acceptable.

Waving HI....Its a bright sunny day, so, I going to make sure my mood stays bright & sunny as well. I'm going to make buns & cookies. I'm sure they are both calorie free recipes...;-) On days like today, I want to go out & play in the dirt so bad, but, still too soon in ND. I did order my geraniums & flower pillow packs ( a variety of preplanted & growing flowers) & they will be shipped May 18th. So, by Memorial Day, I hope to still be healthy & outside planting flowers in my pots & deck planters. Thats the only place I'm putting flowers this year. Nothing out in the yard except my perennials, of which I have enough to provide some color thru the summer. We have a Sunsetter on our deck, so we can sit out there just about any time of the day without the sun making it too hot to sit outside. The deck will have to be our "getaway" place...LOL We don't do a veggie garden. Thinking I could maybe throw some lettuce seed out in the perennial beds, so we could have lettuce at least. Maybe a cherry tomato plant on the deck. DH isn't crazy about lettuce or tomatoes so not sure if I will or not. Anyway, its hard not to think about gardening on a sunny day like today.
Enjoy your Sunday. Anybody binge watching a series? I've been doing more reading that binge watching lately.

Like all of you our life is pretty humdrum right now. Not that we did that much that was "exciting" before, but knowing that each day is going to be a repeat of the day before does get a little old. Still I remind myself how fortunate we really are in that we are safe, comfortable, and lack for nothing. I'm trying to focus on the positive just as I am sure you are too. It's a gorgeous sunny day here. Like Linda I'm doing a lot of reading. Hope you each find a way to enjoy your day!

I can't remember if I already posted this here. It's like when you are having multiple telephone conversations with different folks and you can't remember who you told the story to. But, anyway, Mr. Lani has to work from home starting next week. So that will be a change. I have been bingeing (binging?) a lot of old Warriors basketball games. I was a johnny come lately to Dub Nation so I missed everything prior to 2017, I think? We saw the Tom Hanks/Mr. Rogers movie yesterday. It was nice and quiet and slow, emotions were on display more so than action. After watching 1917 you almost needed a Valium, it was so intense. I'm always reading. I re-read all of Tana French except her most recent, which I recall too well to read again this soon. Now I'm reading King's The Institute. I'm pretty sure I know where it's going, but I'm still on pins and needles rooting for the good guys. And waiting for vengance on the baddies.

I started baking a couple of days ago. I never bake any more. But we'd gotten a glass jar with flour, oats, sugar and choc chips as a gift. It's been sitting on the kitchen counter for a couple of months. I finally decided to make the darn cookies. I had to add peanut butter, butter, an egg and vanilla. They turned out great. Yesterday dh said "we have bananas that are going to go bad". Oh no! Can't let that happen. I wanted to make banana muffins, but can't find the muffin tin. So I made banana, oatmeal cookies. They also turned out well. Got on the scale this morning. This has got to stop!
I'll be looking for more books to read after I finish the 8th book of the Outlander series. This is my second, or third, read of this series.
