Thanks for the start, Chele. Wonder why vets can open but groomers can't. Definitely not worth the risk to go out if you don't have to. My knees need Osteo, or I would probably stay put as well. Are you caught up on 9-1-1? I didn't realize Ohio had an official state beverage. TN does as well. It's milk. I'm surprised it's not moonshine. Paw paws grow here as well and Dale talked about getting some but we never did. We do have wild persimmons growing down by the lake. They have lots of seeds in them but ripe ones make good jam.
Linda, there is still so much we don't know about this virus, and how long it stays active on fur is one of them. I have heard that dogs can't get the virus but cats can. I heard a doctor yesterday say that they have found the virus stays active in the nasal passages for 21 days. So a 14 day quarantine doesn't sound like enough for someone who is actively infected.
Have you heard if they are behaving on the beaches that are open, Kathy? Killing Eve was entertaining. I was laughing hysterically when Villanelle put the baby in the trash can. I thought her little foray into motherhood wouldn't last long. For a while, I thought the scene with Eve on the bus a dream Eve was having. Jamie certainly recovered quickly from the snakebite. At least Bonnet is dead but it was a difficult episode to watch. He almost seemed sincere when he asked for Bree's help. It felt good for Bree to get the revenge, but I know Roger really wanted to do the deed. I know the answer to Roger's question to Bree at the end of the episode--it wasn't mercy. If I were Roger, I think I would have kicked him a few times while he was laying on the beach after Roger beat him up.
Becky, I think your governor has a better plan than mine. Any idea who is going to enforce the occupancy limits? Definitely keep that face mask handy and keep out of harm's way. I wasn't in the hospital more than just a few hours for each surgery and my bill was only $3K less than yours. Don't worry about your speed. It will return. And you are doing really well. I had a friend who had the same surgery a year ago March and has probably only been recovered for a couple of months. The mask I made is more comfortable than the surgical style mask like Liz has in her avatar. I plan to make another one before Thursday and that will be the last one I can make until I get more hair elastics.
Denise, I live in Tennessee. Your governor seems like she has things in hand. I can't believe AG Barr is making noise about investigating stay at home orders to see if he thinks they went too far. One of the a.m. news commentators this morning said he bets Barr and his family aren't going to restaurants any time soon and he was probably right. But he's pushing this idea that businesses should not have closed.
Thinking about you, Liz, and hope you're staying well. Did they change the mass transit schedule again? I heard about an ER doc who committed suicide. I hope she wasn't from one of your hospitals.
I woke up about 2:30 with a bladder infection, so I've been doing a variety of herb teas and Dale is getting unsweetened cranberry juice when he goes to the store. Right now we are waiting on the water softener guy to come. He was here to do system maintenance a couple of weeks ago but "forgot" to bring a UV bulb that is part of the system. He's about half an hour late right now. I hope he hasn't stood us up. We just need to figure out how to do the annual maintenance on our own.

Karen, I am sure the Osteo place will be mindful of disinfecting, temperature checks of staff, and masks. Knees must be taken care of. I have not caught up on 9-1-1 yet. It is hard to do when I am not watching TV alone. It is not Iggy’s cup of tea. Forgot to answer a question from a few days ago. The Swedish show, Quicksand, is on Netflix with subtitles. I used to hate subtitles but I had to get used to them with Iggy. Sorry to hear about the bladder infection. I hope it is cured quickly. Did the maintenance guy ever show up?
Denise, are you warming up in Michigan? We are warm at 73° today. I hope work goes okay for you today.
Liz, any relief in sight? How are things at Gary’s facility?
Kathy, yikes on the dream and the car going off a bridge. I dreamt of a former colleague keeping me imprisoned. This colleague is a sweet, church going guy. Kooky! Did you get your double order delivered? That's a lot of disinfecting.
Linda, what did you get up to today?
Becky, I think your recovery is going fast compared to what I have heard. Did you get out walking today for your PT?
I got my workout in today. Boy, are my legs sore! I will be doing it again tomorrow. I have to build my lung power back up. I didn’t cook today. We have a bunch of leftovers and so it will be pot luck all day. It has been a mostly sunny day and warm. The tree pollen is at a 10 level. Achoo!
Have a good Tuesday.

Olive pollen and grass kicked in this week with leftover mulberry. Achoo.
Got out and poofed the food grade DM around base of house and block walls and the tree where the hummingbird feeder is..big ants have been going to it. The heat every year brings bug invasions here you want to be ahead of...they like AC.
Went to TJs for their steak to freeze and kefir and produce. Have not been there since beginning if March. People are so freakin stupid and / or uncaring. Woman in her 60s wearing an N95 mask was with her daughter who would not let her touch anything. They stayed forever blocking areas discussing what to buy or the older woman would hover right where you could not get to what you needed. Three separate times I asked her to step away so I could get something...”oh yeah, sorry” and did it again. It is an older small store with narrow aisles and not set up one way. Younger people with no masks , the people getting strokes but no other symptoms, walk right up to you And stand until asked to step back. They look at you like you must be crazy.
If I have to go there again, it will be with an old N95 mask I got for pollen reused.
Came home and cleaned dining room, living room, family room, entry way top to bottom, even baseboards and window sills and shutters. Blessings on the person who invented Swiffer and then put it on adjustable long handles. dH is vacuuming.
I am resting!

Chele, thanks for the start. Too funny, I was thinking we were cool today at only 83. Interesting site! I don't think I've ever seen a pawpaw either. I know our state fruit is orange (surprise!) and the state vegetable is sweet Vidalia onion, but they aren't on there. I guess they covered oranges with the juice and flower. I have had smoked sailfish, but I don't think I've ever had largemouth bass. Official state products of Florida: Saltwater Fish: Sailfish Freshwater Fish: Largemouth bass Flower: Orange blossom Beverage: Orange juice Karen, I'm sure there are some people misbehaving on the beaches, but overall it looked like people were using them for walks. Killing Eve was crazy as usual! The Bonnet story was hard to watch and I'm glad we're done with him. In the books, it wasn't wrapped up for a couple more books, so I'm glad they decided to combine those parts and finish it. Who will the next big bad be? To tell you the truth, I've forgotten! I'm sure there will be a price to pay for Ulysses. Hope the cranberry juice does the trick and you're feeling better by now. Did the maintenance guy show up? I put my mom's grocery order in and it only took about 5 minutes before someone started shopping it! It was all done within an hour and only 2 minor substitutions on a big order. Still no TP of course, but my sister got some delivered from Costco. Denise, we lived in Knoxville when I was young and have vacationed in Gatlinburg and other places around there many times. It is a beautiful area and we were hoping to get up there this spring before everything changed.
Linda, too true on missing the days of romaine scares. That's really annoying on people blocking the aisles in the store.
Liz, I also saw the story on the ER doctor. Hope you are doing okay.
Becky, we're having a nice little cooler spell with highs in the low 80s. I wish it would stay like this, but I know it won't last long. Hope the knee is doing well today.

Hello Chicks and Happy Tuesday.
Things here are starting to change a bit; doing some reversal of the ICUs throughout the whole hospital back to ORs and PACUs. I'm not sure which will be more challenging, trying to find where all the equipment went and get it back or have the staff to work in these areas again.
Chele - it sounds like the back is finally doing better. Are you being extra careful with your bending and reaching? Nice that you cooked gravy and pasta for you and the carnivore (chuckling Iggy). Gary is doing pretty well so far and I am grateful They had a visit today from the Red Cross who brought them goody bags in reusable grocery bags. That was very nice for so many and I'm sure they were appreciative. He's been fortunate that the numbers haven't been too bad so far and I spend each day reminding to be extra careful! I know Cuomo wants to cautiously open upstate starting with construction and manufacturing so we will see how that goes.
Kathy - how are things down there with the crazies on the beaches not following social distancing? How are you doing and how is the family? We're having a lovely day today that I haven't had a moment to enjoy but they did have the Blue Angels do a flight path over our enterprise hospitals today which was very exciting.
Linda - Loved the cartoon but suspect we will be dealing with this nasty virus for quite some time at least here in the heavily populated east. Our numbers tend to move much like a saw tooth, a bit up and a bit down. While we all understand the horrible challenge of the economic shutdown, the alternative isn't exactly something one should want to contemplate either. Hope all is well with you, Micki and Bob.
Becky - how is the knee doing? and how are you feeling overall? Have you been getting around much better now with little to no pain? Forgive me if I'm not up on all the details but please know I have thought of you, Kenneth and the fur babies.
Karen - bladder infections are no joke! Please be careful and take care. I saw the Primary yesterday since I couldn't put off my blood work any longer. We talked about the tests coming out and how so many of the are just not reliable at all. It's also difficult when you have medical issues you want to have taken care of but are leery of going anywhere near an operating room at this time. It's a catch 22 without a doubt. The train schedule has not changed yet so it's still challenging and the subway this morning was more crowded than I would have expected. The days are still long and filled with more than I can usually manage to finish. Undoing the bed changes will take awhile and need a great amount of attention to detail. Love your mask; very chic!! The new fashion rage is masks!! Mine is just a hospital surgical mask, so no fashion but definitely function.
I am off to fight some more forces of evil dear ladies. Please be safe and take good care of yourselves. Ciao for now~

Denise, I live about 20 minutes from Dollywood and have friends who live in Gatlinburg, some who lost everything in the 2016 wildfires and some who were fortunate enough to be unscathed.
Romaine lettuce indeed, Linda! Oh, NO on ants and the hummingbird feeder Do you have problems with ticks? Some people just don't need to be grocery shopping right now. They are in their own little worlds. I think even the newer TJ's I've been in do not have wide aisles. I would wear the N95 if you have it. Did you see Pence toured the Mayo clinic and was the only one not wearing a mask? Guess he thinks he's immune. Definitely not modeling behavior for being in charge of the task force. You were a busy bee today. You deserve to rest.
Chele, I'm a multi-tasker when I am watching TV and Dale is, too. It's impossible for us to pay attention to reading, working on the computer, etc., while trying to read the screen. Somebody needs to develop a universal translator ala Star Trek for TVs. That's funny about the sweet church guy imprisoning you. How did you get free? I had a freaky dream last night that involved all of you. I dreamt that we had two new guys join TLC--Kevyn and John. I think one of them was a nurse. I didn't get too far into the dream before it was potty time again. I was starting to feel better about mid-morning but the pain is back now. I'm mixing organic unsweetened cranberry juice with my herb teas. I need to be rid of this because I am supposed to work Thursday and Saturday at the plant sale. Fortunately, I had lots of volunteers step up to help out, so if I can just drop off my plants, there will be enough people to cover. If it was today, Dale would have to drop off the plants because I can't get more than 20 ft. from the bathroom. Take it a bit easy on the legs and maybe stretch a bit more. Our local news doesn't put numbers on pollen counts but tree pollen is "very high" today. Enjoy your potluck. Sorry but this one will have calories. Enjoy your weather. We had rain again this morning but it has cleared and is mostly sunny right now.
Not surprised about OJ and FL, Kathy. I would have been surprised for anything else to have been the official state beverage. Not sure about who the next Outlander big bad will be, especially since Ulysses finished off Forbes. There was a line from a movie (can't remember which one), "he needed killing". That was true for both Bonnet and Forbes.
Liz, so happy you had a couple of minutes to check in! I hope you are keeping your super hero cape sanitized. Your mask is more authentic than mine and probably more germ repelling. You know me and my accessorizing, so I need to make a few more, especially since we are going to be wearing them for some time to come.
The water treatment guy showed up about half an hour late, so by the time Dale got to Food City and Lowes, both were crazy. He didn't get everything on the lists but did fairly well.

Chele, that's a strange dream on the church guy! I guess I could interpret the bridge one as trying to keep control during all of this. I had another weird one where I was eating dinner and I was pouring tons of salt on everything, like just holding the shaker upside down and letting it pour out! I rarely even put extra salt on food, so I have no idea what that one was about. I'm putting my order in tomorrow. One a day is enough! DM's gets delivered straight to her house, so she's doing the disinfecting today. She said she was worn out. It is a big job.
Liz, that's a good sign that they're turning some beds back, but I can imagine that's quite involved to do. I heard about the Blue Angels fly overs. That is exciting and hope you were able to take a moment to see it. The Florida crazies can't be contained, lol. I'm wondering if our warmer than usual April helped with our numbers since we were in the 90s on most days. Good to hear from you and glad Gary is doing well. Stay safe!
Karen, too funny on the TLC dream. That was a good line for both Bonnet and Forbes. Everything always happens at once. As soon as I got off the phone with DM about her food order, the lawn guy came. It was also trash day. My food order is tomorrow. Hope you recover quickly and can do the plant sale.
