I posted this on my WW leader's Facebook group page. She left the post up but turned off commenting.

Bbbearsmom,
Thanks for sharing the video.
I'm debating on what direction I want to go with WW. I've been lifetime since 1964, that's 56 years! I've depended on WW to keep my weight down, always loved the program and meetings. It looks like we won't be getting our studio back here as well as most towns around us and I won't drive out of town for meetings. I have to decide by June 2nd when it's time to renew, decide if I want to pay for digital and on-line or leave WW after 56 years and sign up for the Mayo Clinic Diet at $20 month.
In my book it's not so much the program that I dislike but the way WW does things, like recent happenings that totally turn me off!!!
I really dislike what has been done to WW, changing so many things I loved about the program but then I guess this is one of the many new normals we'll all be dealing with.
Wondered what others are thinking!

judy, thanks for sharing! that was very interesting.
ceos always have a way of spinning things to sound better than they are. it's part of their job. our ceo tried to tell the company in a virtual meeting that all of his direct c-suite level employees were going to take a large paycut due to the financial effects of covid on our company. i oversee the payroll in our company. none of his employees took the hit he said they would.
mindy is making it sound like the recent layoff of field staff was done respectfully, but hundreds of the RIF'd employees in that single 5 minute virtual meeting say otherwise. contrary to her statement that there was opportunity for one on one, that is not what a lot of staff have said on social media.
so i don't know. i do understand that mindy has to do what is best for the shareholders, not owning the real story kind of irks me.

mac, There are apps for your smart phone that imitate WW programs, current ones and old ones too. Some people have gone to them. You have these boards for support.

Thanks for sharing this, Judy. It's a classic example of CEO-speak (and I KNEW that I'd heard rumors about virtual workshops before COVID-19 forced the issue!).
I've decided not to post it on MY WW coach's FB page although the temptation to share with my WW-blue-chair friends is quite strong.
Our coach has not been able to do VW's because she's a nurse and has been "on the front lines" at her hospital for weeks. She mentioned on the page last weekend that she plans to talk to her spvsr about getting into the VW's with us (now that her DayJob schedule has "plateaued".
The spvsr is also a member of the page and I don't want to screw things up for Debbie (I've seen this woman "sitting silently in the back row" at other VW's, including the one last Saturday when I asked outright if Debbie was still on staff [it was in the context of my NSV]).
While I am fortunate in that I have this board for support, there are many in my regular workshop who are treading water until the studios reopen (we are a studio location, not a traveler/stand alone). THOSE are the people who are struggling.

Thanks for the comments above!
So, may I ask, what are the apps. people are using and the cost? 😄

(and I KNEW that I'd heard rumors about virtual workshops before COVID-19 forced the issue!) I think we had a thread here last October/November (?) about virtual meetings. Pretty sure N is for Nurse had mentioned it in one of her videos and we debated from there. I think there was something on the app/website about it too, it was more than just digital but less than digital + meetings (maybe in the mid-thirty range). Pretty sure someone here gave it a try. Thanks for posting this Judy!

My Fitness Pal (MFP) is a good app for counting calories and it includes macros that WW doesn't do (sodium, sugar, fats, carbs, protein, fiber)

DebDoesWW, Thanks for the info. 😁 linda72, Do you use this app to track, if not, how do you track? I like the sodium etc that comes with it. Thanks! 😃

SparkPeople is still around. I do have the app on my phone, but I don’t use it. And there is also LoseIt. The basic app is free, but there is also a premium version.
I’m finally doing well on WW, since they gave us the choice of plan. Regardless what’s going on I plan and sticking with WW at least until the end of the year. Maybe I can get to my goal by then. I can always switch to online only.
Most of the members of my studio workshop were seniors and I wonder if they either don’t know about Zoom, or can’t be bothered using it. My VM started out well, but last week there were only 5 actual members in the meeting. I’ll see what today brings.

not owning the real story kind of irks me. She lied---let's call it what it is. The firings were not done "respectfully" nor were they done in "small groups." They were hit jobs via zoom with no opportunity for interaction with the manager who was delivering the message by reading a script. I would have had more respect for her had she apologized but no, she chose to lie about what happened.

mac, I like to double track sometimes on WW and MFP. I can never tell how many calories I eat with WW and it's sometimes a surprise. 26 SP sometimes = 1400 calories, other times it's 900. MFP allows me to see what my nutrition intake actual is. For instance, I find I don't eat a lot of sugar except for fruit. I know there is sugar in fruit but I don't worry as much since I think it's more natural than say, an Oreo! Still, I try not to go overboard on fruits. Also, after doing MFP for awhile I've seen that sodium isn't an issue for me because my intake is pretty low. But, I've also learned I am often low on protein so I'm trying increase that. Likewise with carbs and fat. WW never has any of that information. I use the free MFP app and I think there may be more benefits for the premium version but this one is fine for me.
