but I wondered if that's all I added how would it know how many points/bites to calculate only from calories...weird It's not calculating points. It's just however many points your're telling it to be. I'm not sure why it even needs calories, unless it's for the dual tracking option where you can track calories as well as points. Ah I see, it's like my old defunct app, I would have a 'Misc.' category for 1PP and just add how many points I needed for random things. I also don't know why they insist on calories only, it wont give the correct points that way so whats the point (no pun intended).

DebDoesWW , THANK YOU for bumping up those threads, I'll take a look after I post this! doordie50 , I was trying to use the iTBs last night and realized that all I needed to do was scan everything in my fridge and pantry and that would be a pretty good start to building back my library of foods. It was pretty easy! It's a little confusing how to get foods to your Favorites list, but I think I figured it out, you just find something and hit the little heart and it goes to your favs, yes? Also, the Carb Conscious Plan is the PP plan there, yes? What I'm having trouble with is making short cuts where I put in 'enchiladas' and I just want to put in the final PP # per serving. It seems like I can't do that and I have to put in all the NI info again, which is a huge PITA. Is there another way to do that, do you know? lol Yes and yes. I really liked the quick-add feature WW had in the online tracking. I have the same trouble trying to input a dish I already know the points for. That NI requirement really is a pain. I'll have to give Susan's method a try.

surfgirl , I used itrackbites for a while for points plus. At this time I'm doing just calories on MFP. Here's how I set up a short cut to just add points that I already know. I created a food that I named Quick Add Points. The only nutritional information required to create the food is calories. I put in 0. I assigned it 1 point. Then I saved this as a favorite. When I want to add just points, I search my favorites for Quick Add Points. Then I put in how many servings of this 1 point food to enter the number of points that I want to enter. susan092907, Hi! So I wanted to try your above work around on iT s but I canβt even see where to dictate how many points I want it to be. Help...please...thank you!

Susan - I joined an I Track Bites group on Facebook. There are ambassadors and moderators and others there who have jumped in often to help people out with how to do things on the ITB app that are not easily figured out. I was told how to reset my week, someone else was told how to add in that you have the option of using your exercise points before the weeklies...things like that. If you don't get the answer here you might try there or on the ITB webpage...if there is a place to ask questions. I am still working it out. From what I understand Carb Conscious is like Points Plus and Conquer Cravings is a points program prior to Points Plus.

I have been doing it about six weeks, I think. I like it better than MFP as it does the points/bites for me. I tried Carb Conscious this week and have liked the free fruit but wonder if I eat more this way and should switch back to the earlier WW version...might give it another week.
There is also a Points Plus board in the Healthy Living section that has some resources. We could make it more active over there...if we wanted to

susan092907, Hi! So I wanted to try your above work around on iT s but I canβt even see where to dictate how many points I want it to be. Help...please...thank you! surfgirl - Go into a meal, and next to the search for a food is a plus sign. I'm using an iphone. Click on the plus sign. That opens the "create food" screen. Put in a name. I used "Quick Add Points". Then under description - optional - I left that blank. Then the next line is "Carb Conscious" - Optional. I just typed in the number 1. This assigned 1 bite. It'll show up at the top of the screen "1 Bites". I actually don't remember how I figured this out, maybe just by clicking around. It certainly isn't made easy. Sorry I didn't realize yesterday in my initial post that it's not clear about how to assign points. cathygeha , Thanks for the reference to Facebook. I don't use fb but I'm sure it's a good resource. Yes Carb Conscious is Points Plus and Conquer Cravings is Momentum. doordie50 - yes the WW Quick Add was so much easier.
I also use a Quick Add entry for MFP calories. I actually don't remember if I set it up or if it's an available entry in the app. I use it for estimating calories when I've eaten a restaurant meal and I don't feel like breaking it down, or when I know I've overeaten and just want to track to be accountable. So I put in something like quick add 500 calories.

surfgirl, doordie50, cathygeha, susan092907, Thanks all for the assist! It's maddening to get used to a new tracking app, isn't it? Anyway, Susan, I figured that out finally, THANK YOU. I wish iTB was more intuitive. I did see the 'optional' nex to 'Carb Conscious' but for some reason I couldn't tap on it to do anything. Now I realize I tap it and put in the points there, DUH. Cathy, I'll check out the PP area, thanks. Also ladies, one other query at the moment...I was able to log my WI this morning by touching the green WI button at the bottom right screen on the tracking page. Is there a way to see your weight loss on a graph? I saw that once I logged my weight today, it told me how much I'd lost compared to last week, but once done, if I go back to the WI page I only see 'Change' and 'Total Lost'. Is there no way to see a graph or other stats on weight lost? If there is I cannot seem to find it so if it's there can you please leave me a breadcrumb trail? Many thanks!

Another thing that's not intuitive on the app. Open the Profile button on the bottom right. Under "Progress" there's a line showing your start weight and goal weight. Click on that and it goes to another screen with a line graph for weight loss progress as well as bar graphs showing bites entries and activity entries for selected time periods. Click on the Weight graph on THAT screen and it'll get you to another screen with all weigh-in tracked entries, along with change and total change lists.

Question: Which of the I Track Bites programs do you prefer? Have you tried more than one of them? I did over a month on Conquer Cravings and thought I would try Carb Conscious but...am not sure whether I like the "free" fruit with the increased points for foods I eat often or prefer the Conquer Cravings program I pay points for fruit with but seems to have lower points on foods I eat daily.

I would NEVER have found that if not for your directions susan092907! I sent them my comments, this and the making your own points foods is just not intuitive at all, and I consider myself fairly well-versed in software stuff. Someone like my parents would have given up immediately I think. Thank you so much though! I think I'm going to scan in every food item in the house this weekend to re-build my go to food items. For the quick track items like portion points for my enchiladas or lasagna, etc., I'll just figure that out separately and put them into the Favorites.
cathygeha, I do PP so I'm doing the Carb Conscious because that's equal to PP. I don't bother with any other plans because PP had me losing weight and able to eat fruit without worrying about the points or calories. If you just started a PP plan with the CC plan, I don't think you will know if it works or not if you only try plans for one week then switch. I think you need to give it a month and if it's not working for you then try something else.

surfgirl, I'm really not very good at tech stuff, but I've learned to just click on everything to see if anything happens! cathygeha, I used itbites for only several months, and only for the purpose of doing Points Plus. I lost most of my weight on Momentum but I found that plan a little too restrictive for me, in terms of my daily points allowance and getting in all of my good health guidelines. I stuck with it, but I was very happy when Points Plus came out, and I got to my personal goal weight on that plan. I stopped using itrackbites because I really like being able to track on a website on my computer as well as on an app on my phone. itb has no website, though from time to time I've seen some discussion about that there will be one in the future. MFP has both. I've still got the itb active on my phone, and some time I may go back to tracking there. Also, I'm a WW Lifetime member maintaining below goal, and I've got free etools well into the future because I got etools vouchers every month for several years, and entered them all timely. So if I want to use any of the three WW plans now, I can do that for free on WW. I haven't found WW to be do-able for me after the way points calculations changed with the start of smartpoints.

Susan, so you lost on PP, and are maintaining on MFP with counting calories, is that correct? If so, did you find a huge difference when you switched over to MFP/calories? I double tracked for about two years using my beloved old app and MFP and I liked MFP a lot. I assume counting calories is a lot easier than figuring out points sometimes, but I'm always worried that I wont eat the right balance of foods like I do on PP, and then counting calories wont really work for me.

susan092907, cathygeha, surfgirl, Hi all - just now checking in. susan092907, thanks for the follow-up tips. I couldn't get it to work last night but, I've got it now. Congrats on Lifetime below goal! cathygeha, I also do PP via the Carb Conscious.
