That we start discussing what the new changes will be for WW? I'm predicting an added color plan with a big zero point list - Simply Filling under a color name. I don't know this as fact....just would be my guess.

Hadn't even thought about changes. Maybe with all the COVID-19 stuff going on they'll pass on changes, plus I think people are pretty happy with the three color plans. That said I was thinking the other day I was missing the discussions we have about WW's plans and business. Laura M,

Ohhhhhhhh my favorite threads!! I agree with Judy though, I think they will just put out a few minor "tweaks" and call it a day.
It will probably be at least 3-4 years before they make any BIG changes.

I wonder if they aren't going to be pushing the Zoom meetings more, emphasizing the convenience. The original intent was that they were to be a temporary fix but I can imagine that the thought of letting go of a lot of expensive leases would be very attractive to to WW right now.
One of the things I noticed is how impersonal the Zoom meetings feel---there is none of that before-the-meeting chatting, and it seems like no one really knows anyone else in the meetings anymore. That, to me, is the big loss with going from in-person meetings to the Zoom format. You can send a personal message via the chat feature but that's about it.
Not sure how that can be overcome. With the consolidation of meetings that has taken place with the changeover to Zoom meetings there are now many people lumped into one place who have never met in real life. It seems kinda like a seminar you sign up for and sit through for the allotted time.
I am rambling I guess---the topic was talking about WW changes. All I can think of is a big PR campaign about online meetings, not much else.

fullmahina, I sign on early and chat with people then. Most of the people in our meeting were at the studio too with a few new ones.

Hahahaha oh my gosh. I was just thinking the same thing. 🤣. I had taken a stroll through eBay earlier and was looking at all the old materials from yesteryears. Is that a word? 🤔 anyway, I was getting all nostalgic because the paper materials used to be so awesome and so plentiful. And I really love love loved the 3 month journals.
My 2 cents in the pot - add another color plan and make it points plus. It’s my favorite. I know they won’t - but that would be the one change I’d like to see. Sigh 😔
What do I think they’ll actually do? Not much at all for plan changes. I think the focus will be on pushing the virtual meetings more, maybe focus on expanding their product lines - more foods - new kitchen stuff, and possibly new partnerships with 3rd party apps for health and wellness ( even though they have them now)
Idk. 🤷🏻♀️. Those are my theories.

Definitely agree with you fullmahina. They were starting to test the waters of VW just a few short months before this pandemic happened. The timing of it all is actually unbelievable, it is as if they had a crystal ball. But quite fortunate that they had everything in place to make it happen and to pull it off pretty seamlessly. The fact they had this ready to go is what led to them surviving this when companies are shutting down right and left. Plus the fact of course that everyone is just sitting at home stress-eating helps. jeanie I agree with you about expanding their product line. Haven't actually been in Kohl's but have seen pictures of their displays there and they are nice.

I message WW on FB the other day and asked if there was a discount rate for VW and they said nope. I said $45 a month is a rip off for the app and zoom. I may call the customer support and see what kind of deal they have. As for changes, who knows!

One of the things I noticed is how impersonal the Zoom meetings feel---there is none of that before-the-meeting chatting, and it seems like no one really knows anyone else in the meetings anymore. fullmahina , I agree with Judy ( bbbearsmom ,). My leader/coach says at every single meeting/workshop that she opens the Zoom room 30 minutes before the workshop begins and we can all come to chat. Often I show up within that 30 minute window and it's true, people are chatting about whatever is on anyone's mind, from who has family visiting from out of town (we live in San Diego, a big tourist city) to whose teenagers are driving them the craziest to ... You might ask your coach whether s/he opens the Zoom 30 minutes before the workshop's scheduled start time. Not everyone from my previous in-person meetings comes to the same time and day meeting, and when I recognize someone, I always send a private message to say hi, but the reality is, I'm meeting new people (people tend to keep coming back to the same workshops each week) and getting to know them.

Holly Gail, my coach said at our Monday meeting that WW is now only letting them log in 10 minutes before the meeting start time starting next week. She said they must have gotten tired of paying for the extra time (I believe the first 40 minutes are free).

Isn't this year 1 for MyWW? Don't they usually go at least 2 years?

At one of the Zoom workshops I attended in the past week or so, they announced that they were changing to be available for 15 minutes before, and 15 minutes after the workshops going forward. They also said that as of 7/31/20, you have to go through the WW App or website to attend the meetings. No more saving the meeting ID’s or telephone numbers to your calendar. They said it’s for security purposes, but I think it’s in order to keep the meetings to paying monthly pass/workshop members. I’ve been waiting for them to change that. I am a lifetime member over goal, and I have paid a lot of money to WW over the years, so I haven’t felt bad about attending virtual workshops as an online only member. I will probably switch to workshops once it’s locked down, but continue attending virtual workshops because I am considered high risk due to health issues.

They are closing walk in workshops here left, right and centre, based purely on zoom attendances for the particular coach/location which makes absolutely no sense if ppl are foregoing a virtual meeting because they’re hanging out for their usual face-to-face.
My state is in the midst of a 2nd wave of Covid, we were virtually unscathed just a couple of months ago, now we’re in lockdown again and so workshops in this state are on hold indefinitely while the rest of the country is starting to open up.
In true Australian style, this outbreak was caused by idiots not quarantining themselves after coming in from overseas, so the gov insisted all returned travellers would have to spend two weeks in a hotel (at taxpayers expense) when they arrived back into the country, with hired security to keep watch over them all...which was all well and good until the security guards started having sex with those quarantined, and now we have community spread. If things don’t change in the next few weeks, we will be in some serious trouble.
But anyways, I’m with Deb, I think there will be minor tweaks here and there, but they may push other things on the App??,

They also said that as of 7/31/20, you have to go through the WW App or website to attend the meetings. Sounds like they are going to do the "waiting room" thing or allowing only those who have WW Zoom invitation into a meeting. I suppose that will put an end to people visiting VW's in other areas as I would imagine you would get a "ticket" from your designated meeting place and wouldn't have access to any other.

This was the link our guide gave us about joining the VW www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/how-it-works/virtual-workshops (not sure if you have to be logged in to the WW site to see this) Really it doesn't look any different than what we have to do now. I guess time will tell (or next week when I try to go to my Monday VW).
