I think each stall should have sanitary wipes (something with bleach or other strong cleaning product on it) and a sign for people (men or women) to use it if they make a mess on the seat. Of course not everyone would (c'est la vie), but some would. Anyway, I'll confess that I avoid sitting directly on public toilet seats (I do not want to sit on some stranger's pee), but I DO clean up if ever I make a mess. Cleaning up your own "mess" is far less disgusting than cleaning up some stranger's.

I clean up my mess, but I hate the idea of someone else's pee getting on my clothes and legs from a nasty seat and bowl. Then you have those who miss the toilet entirely and spray the floor. Nasty.

If you're ever traveling in Texas, stop at a Bucee's! They have the cleanest bathrooms ever. Each Bucees has at least 30 individual bathroom stalls, each with doors, handi wipes, 4 rolls of toilet paper, and hand sanitizer. They are the best! Help me out here, Texans with any other information for these people. They have great food to go and the cheapest gas around. Oh, and they sell pretty neat gifts too. They are building a Bucee's 3 miles from my house and it will have 120 gas pumps. You read that right....120!! Bucee's locations

If you're going to squat, lift the seat. Problem solved. But no one does it. I have a friend who does this!

squatters that pee on the seat should be doomed to sitting on other squatters' leftover pee in their afterlife. for eternity.

i read that if one has no open wounds or cuts on their bum and they sit on a dry toilet seat, one will not get the cooties. skin is our protector for a reason.

Gross. Now I'm thinking about all the dirty shoes standing on the toilet seat and what they've walked in in order to stand on the toilet seat. In CA they always have seat covers. Not so much in CO. I'll be making my own toilet paper seat covers from now on.
"squatters that pee on the seat should be doomed to sitting on other squatters' leftover pee in their afterlife. for eternity." <-- And I hope those squatters slip on the toilet seats and fall into their own tinkle.

Yeah, I try to make extra noise when someone's talking on the phone! And I hate when people leave their carefully placed paper all over the seat. And why do some people not flush??? We have inclusive restrooms and gender-specific restrooms at work and they all get pretty gross. The not flushing I simple do not get. Gross !

I've read that you can tell how clean a restaurant's kitchen is by the care they take with their public bathrooms. It's always something I take notice of.

I travel a lot on long haul flights, like 9-16 hour flights...you can imagine what the toilets look like after a few hours, right? I have mastered the airplane toilet squat, the smaller the toilet, the easier it is to brace yourself against the wall with one hand. but that's not what I wanted to tell you about. I wanted to say that I have seen, on more than one occasion, people walk into an airplane toilet, after many hours in flight, bare foot.

ugh any kind of barefoot in a public restroom is disgusting! a plane bathroom is akin to a public bathroom at a gas station! doubtful the crew sanitizes the floors and rest of the bathroom in between flights!

One time I entered a stall and encountered poop smeared on the back of the toilet seat. Because there was a line of women waiting to go, I told them not to use that stall and why. I informed the movie theater manager who got an employee to clean it. This movie theater is in Millburn, a very affluent community with a top rated school system. Yikes!
