This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone sunrose - Thanks for starting our August thread. I'm hoping this is a great month for all of us. Sometimes I set monthly goals and sometimes I don't. I think I really need to set a goal this month to be more active and do more walking - that seems to be the thing I most need to do to feel better. So I'll give it a try. Take care everyone and enjoy your weekend

Good morning
cj, setting a monthly goal is a good idea. I think I will join you and make my goal get to in more v/f.
I hope August will be a good month for us all too ;-)
I have jazzercise at 9:30 this morning. I stopped at the local veggie stand yesterday and got some tomatoes, sweet corn and peaches. So different now with Covid. Had to wear a mask and not touch the veggies/fruit. Just point to what you wanted. I love to pick up and touch some things I buy.

I think our mosquitoes are getting some sort of power boost. For the last few years, every time I get a mosquito bite, it gets huge and itches like crazy. Not the typical bump, but like a bee sting size (maybe as big as a 50cent piece). Ron thought it was just me, maybe developing an allergy, but he got a couple of bites this weekend and the same thing happened. I have Ivarest Poison Ivy Itch Spray and the same in lotion on hand, and it helps a lot, but it's just weird how suddenly he's got the same reaction going on.
Anyway, August!
Hope everyone is well. Still chugging along here. I need to get my snacking under control. It's mainly from boredom and anxiety, things I can have some control over, so I need to start taking my SAMe again and less coffee lol.

Hello Everyone amyrs - Good for you on the exercise, sounds like you are really working hard. sunrose - I hope you enjoyed your jazzercise. It is strange shopping now, isn't it. I feel bad every time I pick up something in the store and then put it back, but sometimes you just have to check before you buy. DotRen - Those sounds like some super mosquitoes to cause such a bump from a bite. Hope the spray helps. I haven't been too successful with the exercise so far. Did alright on Saturday, but I didn't feel well yesterday, and today I'm busy doing things around the house - excuses, excuses Take care everyone!

I'm wondering if they're enhanced mosquitoes since we live near so many chemical plants lol.

We took a drive down the coast this morning just to get out. Murray and JD both went with us lol. When we got down the road, we opened the windows and let Murray have all the new smells. He was in dog-heaven and it was funny. He never "dogs", but he was even sticking his head out the window for a few seconds at a time lol. Loved it.
