Good to hear that Doris seems to be doing well and came through the procedure well.
Ruth, so you have gone into instant winter!! Wow - indeed a good day to crochet and enjoy some of that homemade chicken soup. Is this supposed to be a long string of cold weather for you ?? Hope you can get your buttons sewn on the cowls and get that box packed and wrapped and ready to go!!! You make me laugh- think you have to stop looking at pocket shawl patterns!!! Do you still have any more to make? But indeed that time of year is almost here in NY- soon colder weather and I can break out scarves to go with my winter coat. Nothing better than a nice shawl or scarf.
Well, I am guilty as charged. I went with Jane to drop off her BOM- and then we went on to the quilt shop. I ended up buying the panel and fabric to make a baby quilt for my great nephew (to be born in March). So now I can stop searching....and get sewing. Think I will crochet this evening. Tomorrow is another day. Doubt I will get to quilting tomorrow, but perhaps some crochet.
Have a good night all G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today It's partly cloudy, with a bit of sun from time to time, here today. We've had such nice weather this fall, it reminds me of how it was when I was a child instead of how the last few years it just seemed to go from hot to cold. I finished the two rows of star blocks on the Autumn Jubilee quilt and was glad to be done with them. As much as I love the look of a star block, I just don't enjoy making them. I should search out easy star block patterns, maybe there is an easier way to make them. The next, and last, row is going to be pumpkins. I have all my fabric ready to cut for them and hope to get that done and get them pieced and together this weekend. I have enjoyed the blocks for this quilt. I'm very happy with the leaves and trees. It's going to be a pretty fall/autumn looking quilt. The finishing information for the FaLaLa quilt and the Autumn Jubilee quilt come out this week so I'd like to get those 3 tops put together. This will just leave the Cozy Things quilt to work on through December. Take care and I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I'm going the snow guy will get here sooner rather than later. It looks like another almost foot of snow has fallen. It's light and fluffy, the kind of snow that's easy to sweep. High today of 17, and the low will be -7. I have four dogs on my lap!
There are several packages outside, so in a while I'll put on boots and a jacket to go get them. Two quilting books! I'll have to sweep a short path, so that will be crafting and exercise! A twofer.
The story with the squatter continues. It will take a minimum of ten business days to get him out. I think I may get an eviction lawyer to handle the case. Or I could be surprised.

CJ, both those quilt tops sound wonderful as usual. I can't wait to see pictures of the pumpkin ones and it will be nice for you to have just that one quilt to work on in Dec. I'm glad you're having and enjoying nice fall weather that is just as it's supposed to be
Sue we got a little snow yesterday and late at night the temp started going Up...yes up...so it all melted. I think it got up to 48 in the middle of the night then started going down again so now it's in the 30's and maybe even lower by now. Starting tonight we'll be getting snow like you have. Be careful out there carrying in those boxes.
Ginny, I hope you're having a good day too and that your cold is gone.
Phyl, your SI joint problem came to me. I must have twisted in my sleep because it's been really hurting all day so far. Guess I need your chiro. I do think it's important to move around so I did my morning chores and will crochet the rest of the day...first exerise then reast. Sorry your geese turned out to be different sizes. I hope you can work it out so that you don't have to do them over.

Ruth- so sorry that your back hurts...and yes if its sciatica its important to try to get some motion in. Hope you did not over do it and will pray that this resolves itself quickly
Sue, perhaps the threat of an eviction lawyer will be all you need....lets hope you do not actually have to hire one.
CJ- like Ruth - juggling various crochet projects, you amaze me juggling various quilts. I am so happy for you that the Autumn Jubilee quilt has been such a happy project for you- fabrics and shapes that you like to work with. I am anxious to see how they will have you make the pumpkin blocks.
Dd came over this am- we went for a nice walk.. Then played at church for a memorial service (the woman died from Covid in April). After that I waited online for almost an hour to vote.....glad that is done.
Off to crochet and watch a movie. G

Good morning!! Quiet here-
I did not get much crocheting in last night- but am hoping today to work on the panel quilt later on, after church. It got colder last night. Think fall is finally here as far as weather goes.

Well it was a cold night and it's a cold day. I don't know what the temp got down to during the night but right now it's 6 degrees and we did get new snow.
Ginny, well the crocheting will be there when you get back to it. Do your kitties ever get to your crafts? A woman on one of the crochet groups said she picked up her crocheting after letting it sit over night and found a big hold her cat had made in the project.
I did work on 15 yr old dgs' blanket last night. Since it starts from the middle and works outward much like a continuous granny square, when you have to rip out a row because of a mistake it's a LOT of ripping and doing over. I've found that I can improvise on some mistakes and it doesn't look any different. It's amazing the mistakes that show up when you think you're doing a good job avoiding them. I still have to sew the buttons on the cowls but I'll do it later in the week when it's a little warmer or maybe bring them all down here along with my button collection and just get it done.Today is hat day though and there are a few I've found lately that I want to make.

Ruth, did you get much snow? 6 degrees is cold - well cold for where I live for late October. I did just check your weather- looks like another day of cold and then it becomes more moderate. Are you and Dh using the house with your “winter quarters” yet? DGS blanket sounds like it would not be a good pattern for me- guess I make too many mistakes. Good for you that you were able to find a way to work around mistakes so that they are much less visible.. I would think that putting buttons on the cowls is not to awful- hope that you are able to find just the right button for each cowl. Glad you found some new hats to try- sometimes finding a new pattern to play with keeps inspiration up.
Sometimes the one cat (the female) will get to my sewing- she likes to sleep on my fabric when I am cutting it. I always figured that was a good luck omen. The other cat likes to sit next to me in the evening when I crochet. But he never makes a mess of anything. We had a really sweet cat that we had to put down 3 years ago. Now she was mischief - and might try to mess up my yarn.
Church was good this am. I raked some leaves later on and had a small fire in the firepit while I raked. Good day for that. Guess I will crochet while watching TV. Looks like we are in for colder weather later on in the week....I hope to start up the wood burner now that it has been repaired.

Hello Crafters Sue - Hope you were able to go out and get your boxes and you're enjoying the quilting book. Ruth - I hope you are staying warm in your house - that is a really low temperature!! Ginny - Hope it was a nice day for the leaf raking. We had rain here all day. I finished a lot of quilting projects last night and today. I finished the pumpkin row for the Autumn Jubilee quilt. If I can figure out a good way to layout the rows and take some pictures I'll try to do that this week. I'm just waiting for the finishing directions on Friday to finish that one. I made Block 2 of the Cozy Things quilt and I'll post a picture of that below. And I finished putting together the fall/autumn blocks I was doing for the FaLaLa Sew Along. I just put the four blocks together with some sashings and borders and it will make a nice wall hanging about 38x38 inches. I'm posting a picture of that too. Now I just have to put together the Christmas FaLaLa blocks and the finishing directions for those come out tomorrow. I'm glad to get these tops put together, I took on too many projects and I wasn't having fun making them, it just felt like work. At least I've been happy with the outcomes Hope everyone is getting some crafting in and doing well. Take care.

CJ I really love the Cosy things quilt blocks. You did a wonderful job picking the fabrics for each one. It will be great to see them all when they are all done.
Ginny, did you burn some of the leaves in the firepit too? I remember back when I was a child and burning leaves was permitted that people burned them in the fall all the time. They smelled so good
That's my problem with the cowls, Ginny, I can't decide which buttons are best for each cowl
