Most likely the only way to lose them is if you weigh in over goal, that is how it has always been. Last January I went to a studio for my monthly weigh-in and meeting to keep up my Lifetime membership. I have a free etools account until July 2027. I knew I was going to weigh-in at more than 2 lbs above goal weight. I asked before I got on the scale if I'd lose my free etools account if I had to pay. The receptionist assured me that I would not. That if I had to pay I would just pay for that weigh-in and nothing would change about my future free account. With that assurance, I weighed in over the 2 lbs limit as I had expected and paid. The receptionist was correct. Nothing changed. I still had my free account until 2027. But now that seems to have changed without warning. On Saturday, vicki posted about someone she knows who had to pay for a weigh-in because of being above goal, and then her free etools account was removed. That's a change. I do remember that zazzles said he lost his free account by buying a monthly pass. But paying on a weigh-in basis only wasn't going to change anything.

susan092907 , was your account linked to your online account? You are the first person I have heard that happen to and the only thing I can think of was that they weren't linked. We have been warning people for years here not to weigh in if you are over goal and your accounts are linked because it will wipe out your accrued eTools. I know there are a few people here it has happened to.

DebDoesWW , That's a good point. It could be that I wasn't linked then. I do remember asking them to link me - I'm not sure why I thought that was important - sometime after that weigh-in, either the same day just after doing the payment transaction, or the next meeting that I went to and then I was free. I'm still not sure if I'm actually linked. I know the receptionist was having trouble doing it, and said that rather than holding up the line, she took my email information and said she'd do it later. When you're linked, weigh-ins at studios show up on the tracker, right? Mine still didn't for the next studio weigh-ins that I did until early March. I haven't been to a studio since then. If I'm not linked, I'll try to remember not to weigh-in above goal, though I intend to not be in that situation again. Thanks so much for the reminder. And why would I have thought that it was important to be linked anyway, after not doing it for years? I really can't remember. Maybe because I thought I'd get emails about important things from WW? I still don't get many of the emails, so maybe that's proof that I'm still not linked?
ETA: And why would the receptionist have given me assurances that my free account wouldn't be at risk. Was she just uninformed?
So many questions...

I've been reading through some of these posts and the most consistent thought that comes to mind is that this whole WW thing is so unnecessarily cumbersome and complicated. How the heck can a business be run like this and hope to survive? My center is open, reservations-only, very limited meeting times, and there is no way I would go to in-person meetings now anyway. Simply cannot risk non-essential activities at this time. The Zoom meetings were not doing a thing for me and I definitely am not willing to pay an increased membership fee to attend any national online WW class or mega-meeting. The local Zoom meetings were cut down to two per week with a leader I can't stand. Since I got my two free months when I went to cancel my membership last month I will still be a member (digital only) until February when I will cancel. I fully admit WW is not working for me in any way, shape, or form. I tried yet again to give it a chance and double-tracking with MFP yet again revealed the frustrating disconnect between points and calories and the even more disturbing lack of nutritional tracking with WW. WW does not provide any tracking of nutrients but MFP provides it at no cost. Everyone needs to find a program that works for them and, for many, WW is the answer. The success stories here prove that over and over again but I am not one of those success stories. Never made goal with WW, and never will. It's time for me to let Weight Watchers (and the awful mess it has sadly morphed into) go and move on. I am actually having success right now with a combination of Nutrisystem, my own healthy meals, and MFP. Down 9.3 pounds in the last four weeks, the most consistent weekly losses I've seen in years. I figure if we are going to be stuck inside over a long COVID-filled winter I might as well make the best of it and emerge next Spring/Summer like a butterfly from a cocoon, lol. A girl can dream...

It's as though WW is flailing, throwing spaghetti at the wall, and hoping something sticks.

I don't follow the program either, and meetings - both onsite and zoom - don't do much for me either. I've kept up my Lifetime membership because the challenge of weighing in for free each month has been helpful. And I still hope that someday there will again be a program that works for me. But I won't pay now.
ETA sorry I didn't do the quick quote right.

You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. I’ve lost some of my weight through calorie counting on MFP, and some of it through WW. They are both tools that we can use in our journey. There is no shame in choosing the tools that are working best for you in the present. Something is definitely better than nothing! ☺️ 9.3 pounds in four weeks is a great loss! I like your idea of emerging like a butterfly from a cocoon after this is all over! 😁 The pandemic has given us some unique opportunities along with all of the difficulties.

susan092907 yes not being linked would explain it and if your weigh ins weren't showing up, you still are not linked yet. (Which happens to be a good thing if you are LT over goal 🤣) and yes she was uninformed, and sorry to say but if she couldn't get the accounts linked she was in need of more training. fullmahina WOOT WOOT! That's fantastic! Sometimes just switching things up is what it takes to get the scale back in motion, great job ☺️ I am going to do a plug here for iTrackBites for anyone looking to jump back on one of the older programs (Points & PointsPlus) if they had better success with them. I am just now checking out the app and I have been really impressed! Love the dashboard layout, love the GHG checks ❤️, and the coolest thing I just noticed was that on my devices' home screen the app shows how many dailies I have left without even having to open the app!! Check it out if you need an extra push or to switch things up while getting through the holidays. 😉

DebDoesWW, Thanks for answering my questions! I guess I'm glad that I'm not linked now. And thanks for continuing to share important emails from WW - I'll continue to check here for what I need to know!

Had my virtual meeting tonight and the district manager was there. She said that since I tracked my food and weight on the app I should be fine being able to go to meetings. I didn't ask her about the March 1st deadline to start weighing in at in-person meetings.

Reposting here in case anyone misses the other post - Dec 6, 2020 10:34:49 GMT -6 debinprogress said: One of the guides at Tony W's workshop this morning posted this info in the chat: (I took a screenshot, but didn't want to break any WW rules by posting the screenshot here) ***You can still attend your Workshop from home at the time and with the Coach that works for you! www.weightwatchers.com/us/find-a-workshop/On December 9th, you will select "Virtual Workshop". There you can enter a coach's name, the workshop day/time, then click to join. ***One thing to note, going forward you'll need to be logged in as a member on the app or WW.com to be admitted into the Virtual Workshop Zoom Right now, that link will still show you the local Studio info, but Wednesday it will have the virtual workshop information. ---- This has gone live now. Thanks debinprogress . I tried it and it is super simple now to do. Just head to the "profile head" (top right), click there, click on Virtual Meetings, then click on the meeting you want to attend. (If you aren't eligible to attend it will flash you a message about not being the right type of membership.)

I asked Coach Rene F. If the 14.95 per month cost for Lifetimers over goal included workshops and she said yes, LT includes the Studio and Virtual Workshops.
Thought that was good to know! 👍🏻

borntexan , when you stopped going to meetings it should have kicked you over to the LT eTools option though, where you should only be paying $14.95 a month. (I'm pretty sure you said your account was linked.) Please tell me that is what you are doing after me shouting it off rooftops for years now 🤣

No I stopped going to meetings before my surgery and before they shut down meetings so I didn’t think I was eligible for LT etools DebDoesWW.
