Hello Everyone Ruth - I'm glad you and your DH were able to get the sink fixed. I'm glad you are having some nice weather. Sue - Hope your errands went well and you start to have some nice Spring weather soon. Ginny - I'm glad the grandkids enjoyed the food "craft", I'm sure it was fun doing it with them. Hope the free motion quilting on the Falling Charms quilt is coming along. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. We've had some pretty weather here - sunny and in the 70s. I worked on my Walkabout quilt the last few days. I ended up having to change some of the fabrics. I liked the 2 fabric I used for the triangle blocks, but even though I thought they would go with the floral I picked for the pick square but it just didn't blend well. So I pulled the floral fabric and replaced it with a pretty fall theme fabric. Kind of strange to make a fall quilt in April , but the fabrics go together much better now. I may make a second Walkabout quilt with the original floral fabric but I need to find 2 other fabrics that go well with it and I don't have exactly what I'd like in my stash. Otherwise I'll find something else to use the floral fabric in. I already cut the pieces into 10.5 inch squares, so I'd have to find a pattern that used that size or smaller. Take care everyone!

Ruth, hope that you were able to everything done today that you had to accomplish. Being busy is not a bad thing- its just helpful and encouraging when the time spent is productive. Hope that tomorrow you are able to get back to your crocheting. Your weather from today sounded pleasant and thankfully not snowing....
CJ- you are amazingly prolific with your quilting!! I had no idea that you planned on starting that walkabout quilt so soon, but am glad that you did. Now no one here would ever judge about making a fall themed quilt in April- you are just practicing some early fall decorating, right?? Almost sounds like another trip to Joanns might be needed, if you are not able to find fabrics in your stash. Perhaps one of the 3 yard quilt patterns would work for you with the 10.5 inch squares
Busy day today, running errands and taking care of some household repair issues. Two more days of babysitting ahead. Tomorrow I will be making the little Easter chick project with DGD#1 and DGS#1 and I figure DGD#2 will want to make another one, and of course eat it.I did get into HL today, and also checked out the craft aisle of Walmart....guess that is as close to crafting as I will get today. Have a good night all Ginny

Yes it was a busy and somewhat frustrating day. I did do the taxes and at first they told me I owed over $6000. I knew htat was a mistake. I thought it would be easy to do online...I've done it online myself for the last 3 or 4 years but the site was just...well frustrating. I may have to find a new site next year. The thing I like was that I was able to download a pdf of my return. Some other aggravating things also came up but that's just part of life and we have to remember what's important and not let these frustrations sidetrack us.
CJ I know that your walkabout quilt is beautiful just as your other ones are. And using fall fabric is a great idea because now you'll be ready for fall. I hope you'll be able to find the fabric you need for the floral that you decided was not the best choice for your current walkabout.
Ginny, yes it sounds like there will be a lot of eating of Easter items tomorrow. The children will love it.
Just was on facebook checking the crochet groups and my Taiwanese grandaughter in law popped up and started a chat so we chatted awhile. Then they were going to go out and get some red bean and Boba. Have any of you heard of Boba? I heard there are Boba shops in the US which originally started in Taiwanese neighborhoods. They sound pretty good and I'd love to try one but there sure are no Boba shops in Wyoming

Good morning all Ruth, I kind of figured that perhaps you got caught up getting your taxes done. I tried doing them myself once using computer software and found it a very frustrating process. ( I used to do the taxes myself manually ) Anyway its not supposed to be a fun project but should now cause additional difficulty for you. Good to hear that you are done- and that gives you time to find another software program. How nice that you heard from your granddaughter!!! I figure you miss your grandson, so it was probably wonderful to have some contact with her. And I have never heard of Boba shops or Boba.....i learn something here everyday.
See ya later Ginny

There are two restaurants in Bozeman that serve boba. Probably has something to do with being a university town as well as a stopping place for international and more sophisticated domestic travelers, skiing and Yellowstone. I had to look it up, so I’ve already learned at least one new thing today!
It’s been snowing this afternoon. Big fluffy water saturated snowflakes. So far 3”. It will be gone within 24 hours.

Sue,even though it's 64 today it's supposed to start snowing this evening and we may get 3-5 inches.Yes Boba does sound good.I see they have a few tea shops in northern CO that sell it so if I ever get there again I might have to stop and get some. My grandson and his wife live in Taiwan so there is a lot of Boba there.Boba is also called Bubble Tea
Well I was going to defrost the large upright freezer today but decided to take a day off. So after checking my email and putting a pot of soup on the stove and then chatting with dh and doing some organizing and cleaning of my hidden craft corner in the living room I am now sitting and will work on Yoda.Next will be the blue alien and then the shark for new dggs then more Yodas and some other stuffed toys. And mixed in there will be little things that I will have in various places in the house that I can pick up and work on while chatting.I'll also fit in hats and working on blankets.
Ginny,I hope you and the children had a good time making and eating the Easter houses.
CJ, hope you're having a good day also and finding some great fabrics in your stash that are calling you to make something with them
Phyl, how is your day going?

Good evening,
Phyl is your medical team making any change to your treatment plan because of your platelet count? Hope that you find some great inspiration from behind latest issue of Block magazine. I have never seen a copy of it myself- other than on MSQ’s web site. Great that CJ’s inspired you to check out the walk about quilt. It reminds me of some of the 3 yard quilt patterns...I am so curious to see what you and CJ do with that pattern.
Ruth, what kind of soup did you make today? Sounds like you have lots of projects lined up to keep yourself busy and making great gifts for your loved ones.It sounds like you have projects all throughout the house ready for you to sit down and do it make a few rows if the inspiration find you. Guess you’ll defrost that freezer tomorrow or another day I’m sure it’s bothering you that you have to do it but another day or two won’t matter.
Well Sue does Boba sound like something you’d be interested in trying?
CJ how’s your day been going? I’m sure you are enjoying the warmer weather and the lack of rain.
Well I made the Easter craft with the other two little ones and we had a lot of fun. It was a long day for me I did not get home until late so I’ve had no time to take on any crafting myself. I’m looking forward to the weekend when I can relax.
I can get Boba, but have to drive a half hour to do so. Honestly, I am not interested in it and would not go out of my way to purchase it. Have a good night all Ginny

Phyl, Well, good that they are keeping an eye on your platelet count. Do you have blood work done often? Hoping that your back problems are under control soon and that you can get back to quilting. Did you get a chance to look at the new issue of Block?

good morning I can now go for blood work every -8-10 weeks. all depends on what he platelet numbers are ,at first I felt like I was Almost living at The lab. his nurse will call and let me know when I need to do the next lab report and if I need to take less pills a week. for now it is 3 pills m-w-f, 2 pills the other days.
yes I read some of the stories in the block this am. phyl

Good afternoon everyone. We did get the predicted snow but because it's been warm none stayed on the streets. There was a lot of our car and truck and on the grass but it's melting fast.
Phyl,I'm glad that your medical caregivers are so vigilant about your treatment. I hope your back is better soon.
I did get almost all the pieces of yoda done. They have directions for fingers and toes and you have to make six of each. The fingers are almost impossible to make,at least for me so I'm not going to do those.I will do the toes I guess because they make him cuter. Today so far, work around the house so maybe in an hour or so I can finish Yoda. I put safety eyes on him so will tell dd not to let her youngest dgd play with him. Dh says he thinks he has a way to make them more secure.I'll try that on my next one.

Phyl - indeed that is good news that they are carefully monitoring your medication and blood levels.
Ruth, Yoda sounds like a complicated fellow to make!!! Will you make mitten like hands for him?? I agree that toes would make him more realistic. I give you a ton of credit for taking on something so intricate. Wonder what Dh has come up with to make the eyes more secure??
Sort of a rocky babysitting day. Both DGD and DGS had their moments....not horrible but they were a bit less cooperative than normally. Glad its Friday. Glad I have a weekend ahead Ginny

Hello Everyone Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well and that you've been busy, hope that you can relax this weekend. I went out yesterday and bought a few groceries and also some Round-Up to spray on some of the weeds I have around the yard and driveway. I had thought about going in JoAnn's but I really didn't have to buy anything there so I'll wait and go another time when I'm not also getting groceries. I finished piecing the 5 rows together on the Walkabout quilt and I'm happy with the fabrics I picked. I'm going to add 3 borders to it and I think I'll have enough of one of the fabrics for binding. This was a pretty easy quilt pattern and it gives a nice result. I also cut some backing fabric and batting for a hand quilting piece I want to work on. It's like the one I did that was in blue (fabric and thread). The pattern is pre-stamped on the fabric so you just have to quilt the lines. This time the piece is white fabric and I'm going to use purple thread to stitch it. It's a nice small size too (about 17x17), so it's easy to handle. And I pulled out my pattern books (I store patterns I like from magazines and the internet in plastic page envelopes and put them in a 3 ring binder). There is one pattern I've been wanting to make for several years - it has dishes set on shelves. The fabric for the dishes was all orientals. So I want to find that pattern and also just look at the others while I have the books out. Take care
