Z, I lost track of time on the flooring. Will it all go in tomorrow? In regard to the rewearing--I bought a pair of Levi's and the ad describing them suggested that the jeans be worn ten times between washes. Supposedly to save the environment and probably the dye is not color fast. I could not believe that! Great job getting everything ready for the flooring. You have been working so hard on all of this. The one thing I would dread is having to keep the house "show ready". Actually we would probably have to move the dogs into a rental since I just don't see how I could even deal with 3 big dogs during the process. Just chatting.... I was able to enlarge the picture and it looks wonderful! I spent the day doing test selections for accounts receivable and prepaid assessments. This is so difficult to get accomplished if the association is large with many homeowners. Anyway I got five HOAs done today. I was hoping to get eight done but ran into some really large HOAs. It would be boring if it wasn't so complicated. Tomorrow it will be back to auditing. 14,051 Steps today so I know I was busy dong something along with the test selections.
Hope you are having a relaxing evening!!! Did you watch the Crime Scene Cooking program? I bet you could figure out what those desserts are in a flash.
Onward>>>>

Hello,
What is the crime scene cooking program? I like detective series, more old school type.
Good job getting your steps in and getting through complicated audit work too! I’m averaging 13-16k steps daily. I’m thinking about upgrading my Fitbit. This one is cracked, works but maybe.
I was hoping to update from laptop, our desk/den area is disconnected from the carpeting job. But there’s something wrong with it so am doing from phone.
Carpeting Job: all items were cleared for this except three beds, one cabinet, and two sofas. I thought this would save more money, but only cut furniture moving by half to $300. However I’m guessing this helps work go faster, get completed in one day, when is already done, which is what occurred. The upstairs bathrooms were filled, including bathtubs, to the door ways and the downstairs hallway. The carpeting looks great, it’s not high end, thinner pad, but looks good, fresh, clean...EVERYWHERE! Last night I got DDs bed changed and most items, tables, back in her room and that bathroom cleared of items.
DH took another carload of stuff to new house and dealg with trailer we’d brought previously which couldn’t be unloaded. A garage floor finishing company had come and sanded our garage floor ifor a special flooring finish. Wrong house. So then the concrete needed sealing due to the sanding that was done, which was free bonus to us, and we opted not spend 3K to have the special flooring material applied, which I can’t remember name of.
Got DDs first vaccine take care of two shot process and second appointment set s as bd got DDs dress from cleaners that needed hemmed.
This morning I’ve unloaded DW , reloaded, it is running.
Today I need to put other two beds back together, move nightstands, lamps back. I also have plan to clean, dust and touch up paint all doors, door jams, wainscoting associated with hardwood floor areas in advance of that job which will commence on Monday.
The kitchen, family room downstairs hallway are overflowing with jumbl Ed of displaced stuff this will take time to resolve and Ed can’t be in the house for four days starting Monday.
Hope your day is off to good start.

Z, Things are really starting to come together! What a mix up about the garage floor. Not sure why a brand new concrete floor needed to be sanded but I am guessing it had something to do with the special flooring material. It sounds like making it through the hardwood flooring will be really helpful. I worked on an audit today and also one yesterday. Tomorrow I want to work on another one and have asked DH to buy birdseed tomorrow on his way home from golfing. This is the first time in many years that I have asked him to do something like this. I am not certain about reality sometimes. His response reminded me of why I don't even bother Editing..... Clair wanted me to put on her dog TV channel. She was watching dogs at doggy daycare playing in their specially made wading pool. She just loved this! So she decided she wanted to play also and actually tried to get inside the TV. So cute!!! I did do some homemaking chores today. Got the floors vac'd where needed, dog prints off windows, dusted where it was obviously needed. I had to really force myself to focus but I did manage to keep my stuff picked up and put where it belongs. I try very hard not to leave a trail of "unputaway items" throughout the house. Right now I am going through a phase where I will take a look around the K and every door I opened is still opened etc. This better had pass! Such lovely weather here. I saw a Robin taking items to build a nest into a pine tree outback a couple of weeks ago. I checked it out and there was the Mom Robin sitting on her eggs. I made sure I just glanced since I did not want to scare the family.
The TV show is on Fox on Wednesdays. It's trying to guess from what is laying around in the K what dessert has been made and then replicate it. It just started so who knows if it is any good.
Hope you are having a relaxing evening!!!

Good Morning,
Avatar: This is a picture of our kitchen, so can see flooring, cabinetry, back splash. There is no back splash above the "hutch" type piece to the left toward window, that has a 4" wood back splash and then the wall/paint.
Speaking of cooking, I will have to learn how to cook with gas. We have a slide in Cafe' brand gas range, but has double electric oven, one a little one on top and the bigger one on the bottom. This was my answer for not getting double wall oven. I don't like how low that lower oven is, but I'm sure I'll get desensitized to it, plus maybe I'll use the upper one most of the time anyway? We opted to put a range hood over the oven there instead of the microwave and put microwave on wall on the right hand side.
I'm sorry about the negative response in regard to help with the birdseed errand. Good job on your chores, put away and audit work. My mom has robin that builds a nest at here gate, where you walk in/out her sidewalk, it's not even very high, crazy...but it's built again this year!
Carpeting: There was stressful hiccup for us, minor, but distracting none the less. So, the carpet tacks from the tack strips which they do not replace are sticking up and a bit problematic in some areas, plus there were some very sharp pointed staples sticking up, caught in random spots. So after calling, texting pictures, getting "educated" on carpeting, it turns out as they do not replace those tack strips, the cheaper carpet you buy, the more problem you have with these tacks coming through on stairs and transition points. If this had been explained to us, we would have spent up to a couple thousand more on a thicker/higher quality carpeting, even though we're moving, for this to be a non issue, this is the truth. Dh and DH and I both on the same page about it. There are two schools of thoughts on hammering these down, because this is what the carpet backing latches to. Made research calls to installation company and another company on this. But I can't have people stepping on these when walking through on bare/sock footed feet. So I'm doing to go ahead and hammer down the worst offenders in high traffic spot transition points. DH was able to use pliers to pull out the staples which were just random errors.
TaDas: -guest bathrrom upstairs emptied, items dusted, put back in DD's room. -items brought downstairs from DD's room put back in room, a storage ottoman and leaning bookshelf --washed my new PB sheets, and made the MB bed with them and left the dust ruffle off, looks better, it's a platform bed anyway and now there's nothing uner the bed to hide. -put my dressers back in place on either side of bed and lamps -put Den back together with sleeper chair, desk, one small file cabinet, computer and smaller computer chair. It looks GREAT! DH hooked everything up ( still need him to look at my laptop) -put Formal LR back together for most part, not sure if stager will leave as it is or not, I think she needs to bring another coffee table, not sure or maybe will leave open, no coffee table, we have a big leather ottoman, I think is too heavy looking plus it's in poor condition, leather looks bad on it. -DH moved all boxed items from big craft corner closet and set on out of the way carpeted areas, as this has wood flooring and is in entryway, part of wood flooring refinishing -Den: I dusted the the lower oak wainscotting in den and used "Goof Off" (not sure I should have, but I did, it seems fine) and was able to remove lots of these whitish, paint type scuff markings along the 4" flat baseboard that runs around the room and this made an incredible difference! I don't know what it was but as soon as sprayed it with that "Goof Off" it just dissolved and wiped away. Can't believe I've been looking at that mess for 15 years! Jeez! -vacuumed closet and moved two shoe racks and shelf back into MB closet -DH moved things back into carpeted coat closet entryway -Now...there's some DH stuff that he will not take to new house yet, nor store in garage, it is problematic, it's all firearem related, ammunition, all of it needs to be out of the guestroom closet, period, and it cannot be stacked in visable areas elsewhere in the house. Discussed this at length, again, yesterday, I think we have a plan and it will have to be stored in the craft corner closet after the floors are done. It can be covered with a covering once stacked and can also have a few other boxes placed in front of so you can't see it and I think will not overfill the closet.
Today's focus is packing kitchen, clearing off kitchen table of DS left over "project" remnants left behind, clearing countertops and moving all off the floors. I will also wash the white painted areas of doors and jams and do the touch up paint on these. I need more boxes, not sure if I can get any today, will try,. And I need to put the guestroom bed back together, bring back in night tables and lamps.
22K steps yesterday!
3:00 PM Update:
-did a morning walk while talking to out of town friend on phone this morning -drove to a storage place, different one and got two large boxes and 20 more regular sized. -got home brought in boxes, plus an oversized one that was in the back of my car, assembled the three large ones. -brought down rest of framed pictures and artwork from upstairs hall, guest room. Then I bubble wrapped and began packing these three large boxes, which all got filled, with artwork, framed artwork, of different sizes, probably 25-30 pieces. THis took time. Labeled, taped shut, hauled two to garage and DH helped move the biggest one to garage. -dealing with TT, someone is just not functioning, I'm at my witts end with this situation and quite honestly plan on spending the next 4 nights staying in the bedroom at my girldfriend who offered to house our cat, with the cat, and not at the hotel with DH and DD as the TT and all that is not getting done is about ready to make me lose my mind. -I've picked up sheets, towels, from floor, kitchen, entryway, family room, why so many of these, why everywhere, I don't know and have started a laundry basket with only those types of things. -DH helped me get the bed skirt ruffles on the guestroom bed and that bed is made up now, tables dusted, back in room, lamps dusted back on tables. -put a bit of spackle on a couple gouged spots on closet door in guest room. -I have run at least 5 loads of of DD's laundry
Goal I need to wash these door jambs and frames, and apply spot paint next. Then I'll proceed with boxing kitchen stuff to get off floors there.

Z, That is the most incredible story about the carpeting. I wonder how many sales they would get if they were up front about the carpet tack situation. I sure wouldn't want any baby of mine crawling around on that floor! This is just another example of how bad customer service has gotten in the construction industry. If this was a commonplace problem we would have heard about it. Just more cheap tricks and lies. My negative opinion has come from real life experience with these people.
Great job forging onward with all the projects needed to be completed!!! Congrats on removing the paint stuff. I also have found that those Mr. Clean sheets get rid of the most interesting things. I think you said something about not being able to put anything for several days on the flooring that is going in next week. It does sound like you are headed toward being able to stage the house.
Love!!! the pic of the new K. IMO, in homemaking land there is nothing more wonderful than a new house! Will you decide about landscaping after you move in. Just wondering....
Today I worked on another audit. The more diligent I am the sooner I will no longer have to supervise. This is making me highly motivated to say the least. DH took the shopping list and charged off to the store after his golf game. I really need to stick to my guns and am starting to so Hooray for that.
Hope you had a productive day!!!

Good Morning,
I'm glad DH did the errands. You do stick to your guns in regard to your intentions/goals. This is very good.
Carpeting: In their defense, they thought we wanted whatever was cheapest probably. HOwever, yes, they are missing out on sales of a more quality product by not explaining some of these issues to people. The tacks are not everyhwere, only at transition points and DH spoke to his cousin who is carpet layer, and his advice was to bend them slightly backward, don't hammer, this makes sense, so this is what I'll do with the remaining worst offenders.
This morning I'm consolidating my things and cat things as cat will go stay with my good friend down the street. I will be staying there as well to aid in settling the cat, also I prefer not to be stuck in hotel room with a lot of TT so this is great excuse. Also I have to be near here, as I'm picking stain color today I think I hope this is not stressful
Yesterday I completed running all of DD's laundry but one bag and I washed the door frames and doors for laundry room, 1/2 bath down stairs and the two kitchen doors that go to formal dining room. All of these are white, used the touch up paint, again though doesn't match perfectly, it is huge improvement and these areas/doors look much cleaner and do not have all the dark brown ding spots showing. It is an improvement.
MAJOR Thing! Since we've lived here, there has been this weird smattering of this off white/cream colored stuff in random areas on our oak cabinetry in den, kitchen, up high, down low, on the side of the island. I have tried to clean it off on and on, but it just wouldn't come off and I thought this was a cabinet refinishing type of issue to remove. When the flooring guy came, I showed him 3 steps, near the front door, that were just a disaster and asked if they could do that, by hand, when they do the floors. ANswer no, not without tearing the railing system apart, new railings, blah, blah, so I say no. So I'd bought "Goof Off" at the paint store to remove adhesive from master bath door frame where previous owners had done weird stuff. It worked to clean that. So when I was working in den, I used it to clean up the oak/cabinet stained base boards. Last night when I was in kitchen I was looking at one of those areas and thought, hmmm, that looks the same as what I cleaned off base boards, sprayed it, it came right off! So then I proceeded around spraying, cleaning many other spots, clean! So then I'm thinking....hmmmm....I wonder if this is what is on those stair ends, so vacuumed them off, sprayed and rubbed with cloth, CLEAN!!!!!! These three stairs is an ornate ending to the stair way where meets the floor, is circular. So if they had remained as they were, it was going to be problem/eye sore. I cannot believe it and so happy this morning!
Okay I must shower and start loading the car to exit house, with cat, and then come back and meet flooring people.
