I will walk in the morning if it doesn't rain. We will also buy groceries.
Ann I know your day was special with Benjamin.
It was just another day for me and missing my mom. It doesn't affect me like this every year but this one was one of those years. Our friend came out to vaccinate 4 calves. I met him on the road when walking this morning. We did go to church and it was a nice service then we ate BBQ out afterwards.
Have a good evening and a good Monday.

Becky I was also blue today. My mom passed 35 years ago and it was also my sister Marie's bday. She would have been 75.
Benjamin and Carl helped me through.
Sending warm hugs your way.

June, good goals for the day. Becky, Iโm glad you accomplished your goals, your walk, going to church and enjoying barbecue. How wonderful to have a neighbor who can vaccinate the calves. Ann, Iโm hitting the reset button too. My mom passed away in 1989. At least my children had a brief time with her. Cathy, my scale doesnโt seem to know anything but two numbers and today will probably be the higher one. I have my annual appointment with my PC doctor today. For some reason she has me do blood work after instead of before it. I will help Leo if the appointment doesnโt take too long. Dinner will be turkey meatballs, salad and either tabouleh or Moroccan carrots.

Ann I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter how long our mothers have been gone we will still miss them at the special times in their lives. Mine has been gone 30 years. Hugs to you as well especially on Marie's birthday.

Audrey Our friend isn't a neighbor. He came from farther away to vaccinate the calves. He has a dart gun where he can shoot the vaccine for blackleg into the calves. He and his wife are also the couple who will inherit our place once we are gone. He was kidding me today that he was going to plant some watermelon where we have our tomatoes and cucumbers and I would have to keep it hoed for him. He is quite a character. I'm sure I will wearing the BBQ on the scale as well because of the sodium. It was worth it though even if tomorrow is WI day. My mom passed away in 1995. Kenneth's mother and my dad passed away in 1988 and his dad in 1989. We lost 3 of them within 9 months of each other. Good luck with your appointment. My clinic used to do lab work 2 days before annual appointments and now it's almost a week before since they were bought out by another company. I like having the results when I go for my appointment.

I will KOKO
My husband headed off to the bank, to exchange dollars for lira, to buy produce and also get some items he needs for gardening. I let him go on his own as he is fully vaccinated and I don't get my second jab till June1 and then it will be another couple weeks after that till it has time to do its thing. My son-in-law, a virologist, has told my daughter it is advisable to NOT go to work in coffee shops as the variants are still out there to be caught SO she will continue to work from home, I guess. That means we will need to take precautions awhile longer.
ANN: It will be difficult if/when Benjamin moves on to his forever home. I think it must be hard to foster animals. Glad he is giving you joy now!
MJ: What happens to the trees that are felled? Do they use them for firewood or???
JUNE: It is always interesting to hear about someone (like your husband) who has been involved in major undertakings (like the crane at Chernobyl). I didn't realize that full time professors were the only ones that teach in summer...ah well...how do you spend your summers, usually?
LADONNA: I am sure you celebrated Mother's Day in some small or bigger way!
SUSI: My husband says grass is a waste SO he plows up the wild weeds and grasses and we have...dirt...and the wind blows it in if windows are open...ah well...the pros and cons of grass
BEE: Hope you checked in with family on Mother's Day...or they checked in with you.
BECKY: What kind of barbecue do they have in Texas I know that my daughter says in the south it is not the sweet tomato type but more of a vinegar based clear sauce.
AUDREY: Too funny about your scale having two numbers...mine is up this morning but it does that and is still in the same range of this plateau...even though OP and moving. I am wearing my shorts today and I can slip them off over my hips without undoing t hem SO know that I have lost plenty even if the scale is being slow to drop. Sounds like a busy well-planned Monday for you!

Good morning friends. I slept well just once again woke up earlier than 'normal'. It's okay as I can nap should I feel the need to. Benjamin surely does keep us on our toes Audrey I hope the blood work comes out well. Both our PCP's had our blood work drawn after our wellness physicals. Not sure why that is as to me it appears backward LOL. Your dinner sounds good. (((hugs))) Becky. That's a lot to get through in such a short period of time. I agree..makes no difference how long they have been gone. A loss is a loss and certain times bring up more memories than others. Cathy Benjamin is in his forever home. Stephanie the original owner contacted NEBTR North East Boston Terrier Rescue and asked them if we could adopt Benjamin as she was the original owner and wanted him placed just once! They agreed. Because it was considered a one on one adoption, there was no adoption fee attached. Carl and I made a donation instead. Bee wishing you a pleasant day. Waving and shall CBL

Good morning, June - Ann - Becky - Bee - Audrey - Cathy - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWL!!! Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine... Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and for those who need extra helpings of divine intervention at this time... and a few extra for all students whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid... and for those who mourn... and for peace in our nation. ๐๐ต๐๐ต๐๐ต๐๐ต๐ Yesterday was even crazier-busy than Saturday - but the "two more" cedar trees at The Plantation were on the ground before the next round of rain started. Let's just say if the second tree had been our first, we wouldn't have gotten to #2 (the only thing more stubborn than that tree was the crew taking it down ๐ง). But they're down and stripped and most of the branches have been hauled off to the brush pile, although cutting the logs and stacking them on Son#2's Great Wall of Wood will be his ongoing project. We had a "picnic" lunch in the car on the way to pick up K'ling2 and the Zigster for 3:30 PM and kept them here until Son#1 and the Kressling picked them up at 7:30 PM. So we even got to watch NASCAR Cup series (Darlington). And the evening TV was PBS, including a fascinating documentary called "Orchestrating Change". www.pbs.org/show/orchestrating-change/It was not a "traditional" Mother's Day but it sure was a lot of fun (and included lots and LOTS of grandHugs, too). Let's see what happens on another gray NJ Monday. Coffee... โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ... here's to US... <mug raised high!>... ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐

MJ you surely did have a different Mother's Day. Accomplished a lot as usual. Thanks for the link. Looks like the rain they said we'd get is passing us by. Happy for that. Unless Mother Nature decides at the last minute to 'shower us' with her grace Coffee time!

Did my daily weigh in and although I remained the same my tummy is still 'off' from yesterday. Will watch what I eat today.
Still overcast and at times drizzling. Perfect day to remain inside and take a walk weather permitting. Carl may or may not hit BJ's today. I'm not in the mood, so will stay home with Benjamin.
Waving.........

Morning, All. Yesterday was a quiet contemplative day for a friend.
I am good. We have 3 more days of rain, but again, most of it went above me. LOL Hope some we got in the night watered the flowers.
Going to try my hand at a new spaghetti sauce today.
I am working on hydrating more than I have been.
My kids and I send texts every morning as a group, and probably talk every other day. We are always there for each other.
Have a great day!
