Having a wonderful time with my cousins. June made us a delicious dinner after we sat outside all day and talked and talked. Today we will be off early to visit the area where our parents grew up and where we spent all of our summers. Plus we will go to our parents' and grandparents' graves. Oh joyous days!
QOTD: Two random ones 1. Have you ever won a contest? Tell us about it. 2. Who was your strangest or most annoying neighbor?
I'll check in tonight

QOTD: Two random ones 1. Have you ever won a contest? Tell us about it. I canāt remember winning but Fred did. It was a call in where you had to be the certain number caller and he was it and won our first flat screen TV that lasted for a very long time.
2. Who was your strangest or most annoying neighbor? Weāve always been lucky in our neighbors but we did have one who didnāt drive so whenever he had a fight with his wife he would come knocking asking Fred to take him to his favorite bar and Fred being who he is always accommodated him. We never knew how he got back but you also never knew at what time of the day or night he would come knocking!
Yesterday I spent a lot of time working on the puzzle. It was a rainy cool day so thought I would at least get the border done. I went through the box five times making sure I had gotten all the pieces I needed but find Iām short five so decided Iāll go ahead and start working on filling it in and hope I just missed those pieces and theyāll show up. It did turn out that the border is not gray like I thought that was just the way it was pictured on the box. One thing though was it did keep me from thinking about food and even didnāt realize it was time to feed the dogs until Bailey started barking at me and Bridgette joined in!

Good morning all. I am happy to have a bit of internet this morning. The chirping birds woke me at 4:58 am and I couldnāt get back to sleep. Itās supposed to be 74 today. Yay! But possible rain.
Yesterday morning we went to Mattress Firm and bought two beds. They will be delivered the Wednesday after we move in. They were having a Memorial Day sale.
Answer from yesterday is nothing much will change for us. We rarely mask outside but wear masks when entering businesses. As for the campground we donāt socialize much and enjoy our own patio. Lots of people here this weekend.
AOTD: I have never won a contest. I did win $75 in the lottery several years ago but havenāt played since. We had a rude neighbor at the last home we lived in Illinois. He ran out as soon as he saw Don and talked. Don tried to mow one day and he talked to Roy for a while but said I need to mow now. Roy kept talking and walked along with him shouting. Don also got stuck on the garage roof with Roy setting beside him. The ladder had fallen. I did finally hear him and went out. As a result Don felt like a prisoner in his own home. His wife was like Mrs Cravets (Bewitched) and watched all the coming and going at our house. We laugh about it now.
This campground is rather large with about 400 camping spots. Each have a patio. Our friends moved to the west side now and we are on the east side. There are two lakes between them. Thereās lots of kids here this weekend and we are near the playground. I hear them having fun. They even play in the light rain.
Speaking of patios I think ours at the house is beige or brown. It is on the east side of the house so we should have evening shade.

AOTD: I don't recall winning a contest but I did win $2700+ on a $.25 progressive on a slot machine in Atlantic City about 20 years ago. I accidentally pressed the bet maximum $4.50 and I hit the big one. We were on our way to Florida so see Bill's parents so ended up carrying all that cash buried in the bottom of my purse. DMIL gave me a check for the cash when we got there so I didn't have to continue carrying it on our trip. The funny thing is before I walked away after collecting my cash, I hit the max bet button one more time and added $500 to my winnings when I then cashed out. Never happened to me again!

Today we are going to grandson, Nateās high school graduation party at Tiki Cove. The last time I saw Nate and the boys was at Jaimieās graduation party. Nate plans to go to UNF, the same college Brenna graduated from in Jacksonville. From what I understand Nate recently broke up with his longtime high school sweetheart, Abby.
It is a beautiful day in Florida. A repeat of yesterdayās gorgeous weather.
Tomorrow I am getting a massage and then meeting Jaimie to celebrate my birthday. My birthday is Tuesday. Mike is taking the day off to spend with me. We will go out to breakfast and dinner. Not sure just what else.

Good morning. I have been to Costco for gas and watched church on line. I want to start going back but will have to be up earlier to make the 8:15:service. I donāt function well early
AOTD. Our big win was done unknowingly. We had purchased plane tickets for an Alaskan cruise. That entered us in a contest which we won. A trip to Vegas flying from ft Myers to N Y boarding a private plane with celebrities and spending several days with the models Lots of pictures and all were very sweet to us So round trip to and from Vegas. 5 days at the casino. Special attention from the sponsor including private parties and gifts. Models treated us like their grandparents
Neighbor. My current one.
Sharon. Glad you are finding furniture you like. View of lake is lovely.
Finished the four winds. Just a great book but such a sad time.
Current easy reading. Reunited in walnut river. By Rae Anne thayne

Good morning all!
I just finished watching church online. We only had one service this morning because of the ground breaking ceremony directly after it was over. We're getting ready to add a new expansion onto the existing building. It will be completed in about a year and will consist of an indoor soccer field, indoor walking track, indoor playground, coffee shop, new kitchen, and several new meeting rooms. It is a gift to our community and the hope is that the building will be used 7 days a week not only for those who are members of our church but also members of our community.
No plans for today except doing a few things around the house that I'm able do and taking it easy and resting my back.
QOTD: 1. Have you ever won a contest? Tell us about it. 2. Who was your strangest or most annoying neighbor?
1. Several years ago, I won first prize in a contest at a local grocery store.....a 3 day/3 night stay on Jekyll Island, Georgia. We drove down and spent a very relaxing time staying in a lovely hotel right on the beach. We added 2 days to the getaway spending the additional time in Savannah. Loved both places! Denise was a Sr in High School and she went with us along with one of her friends. We had a wonderful time.
2. I have to say that we've been very lucky with neighbors although in the house we lived in before we moved down here, we had a family across the street who kept a very messy back yard. I don't think they were hoarders but they had lots of junk in their back yard and it was pretty unsightly. Thankfully we faced their front yard and they kept that looking nice so we didn't have to see the mess unless we drove past their house on the side street.

Good morning. I am listening to another John Grisham book. Athough he has mystery and intrigue in his books, I find them light enough for me. I can't handle deep or sad, too much of that in reality.
I have won several things, but nothing large enough to remember details.
We once moved because of a neighbor who was unbearable. She once called authorities on me when I was a licensed day care operator. She accused me of leaving the kids home alone. It was not true, but I was subjected to routine unannounced visits for a year. She could not have children and I think was jealous that I had three and cared for three more. After we moved away she adopted a little girl and then got pregnant the next year. I hope she was finally happy.
The garage sale yesterday was the best one I have ever had, by far. After closing I took pictures and put several things on Varage Sale. Sold three more by evening. I'll post the rest of the pictures today.
I have been thinking of getting a gas grill, as all I have is a very small charcoal one. Saw one yesterday, used, for $20. I bought it with the thought that if I use it this summer I will get a new one next year. I hate to spend a couple hundred dollars to find out that it was only a whim and not something I really wanted. I like the idea of doing a roast in the summer without heating the oven.
Mass last night and then out to dinner with friends. Hope to hoe my tomatoes today before the rain sets in. Like Karen, I think that will make me sore tonight or tomorrow - we'll see. I plan on signing up for yoga tomorrow as that always helps.
Sharon love the view. I have always wanted to camp - in a camper, not on the ground. Just never had the opportunity. Enjoy...

Everyone is so busy. Thatās good.
Wonderful news, our Iowa son is coming to help move along with 2 or 3 of his grown boys. I was sad he hadnāt offered and my DSIL said well did you ask him? So I did. They will stay at DDs and she will feed everyone. We will reimburse her the expense.
We played bocce ball with others at the campground this morning. Now Don is cleaning out the camper storage places.
Ruth enjoy your birthday and happy birthday from me if I donāt make it on Tuesday.
Geri wonderful you had a good garage sale. Itās a good time of the year for those.

Gail, so nice to go back to your old neighborhood. I have plans to do that with a childhood friend soon since itās only 40 minutes away!
Karen E, Iām sure everyone enjoyed those yummy cupcakes. Congrats to Leland.
Sharon, how nice to have so much help moving. Iāve got a set of Bocce Balls, I must remember to get them out when DS visits next month.
Iām picking up my BF from childhood tomorrow morning and driving to NH to meet others for lunch. She called today to firm up plans and we chatted on the phone for two hours! Just wish we lived closer but when itās safe Iāll be spending time in CA. Problem is she has this Bengal cat that Iām afraid of and her dog is out of control, too. I love dogs but this one barks at you like he will lunge. Ughh!
Iāve won slots for $1500 or so a few times and trips to Hawaii and Puerto Rico, for sales, etc. The most memorable was when my DSs were 1 & 2, DH won an all expense paid trip to Miami for a full week over New Yearās 1978. One couple from each state attended the festivities at the Orange Bowl Parade, Football Game, Hydroplane Boat Ride. Rita Moreno, Gilda Radner, Joe Garagiolo (sp) were honorary guests. We had a fabulous time!

Iāve had a few quirky neighbors but this memory popped up for a chuckle. My roommate and I were probably about 19-20 when we lived across the hall from 2 guys about 24-25, out of college and working. We didnāt have two nickels to rub together and we became good friends with them. We had an iron, they had a vacuum so we shared a few items. However, whenever we had dates they would find an excuse to come knocking to borrow something just being nosy. We would laugh about it but they really did act like they were our Dads. Funny!
Today I decided that it would be worth the $ to have my car detailed. I remember when it cost $100 now I see some places get $350. At that pint I go back to vacuuming and applying Armorall on my own. Around here all of the interior car washes closed when minimum wage became mandatory, I believe.
Vicki, you seem to be doing so well. That determination will pay off, as long as youāre careful.
DGD thoroughly enjoyed the Bah Mitzvah. Eliās sister Sara mothered DGD the whole afternoon so it was great fun. Due to COVID it was at a JCC with only 30 close friends and relatives. I remember when I hostesses at an upscale restaurant, some of these celebrations were more elaborate than weddings!
Happy Monday tomorrow, all!
Marlo
