Good morning,
Sandy, I am so ready for a restart. Was just thinking that last night. I'm not going to wait another week though, need to watch what I'm eating this week.
Mary, it's nice when you get a gift you like & can keep.
Celeste & Suze, y'all enjoy your time today. Suze, hope you're feeling better.
Becky, I seem to be very sensitive to cedar. Mold gives me headaches, so I've not been too happy with our allergies lately. Enjoy your workout at Curves. And, yeah, I'm not going near a store today.
Waves to Louise, Angie, Connie, Terry.
Watching the Ms State & Miami OH game. Then tonight will be the Cowboys. DH is playing in a fantasy league under my name. I'll either win $90 for 2nd or $120 if I come in 1st. It's going to be close between me (DH) & an ex-coworker (he moved to another district & is in charge of setting up the league). We were texting last night talking smack to each other. It's all in fun, but DH really wants to win. The other guy is also a hard player.
Today's list: laundry, finish the front room, start looking at textbooks/websites for shc**l. DH will make dinner & I'll get the kitchen cleaned up after. Enjoy the day!

CONNIE and SUZE (and everyone) I think that the holidays CAN be a season of great joy, fun and giving. I also think sometimes the older we get and the more baggage and responsibilities etc that it's often tooooo stressful. I'm glad to get back to my routine. LOUISE I'm w/ you. I've done SOME tidying up (not that you can tell) but NO WAY NO HOW am I going shopping. BECKY the self watering tomato planter came from Plow and Hearth online. Or just google Self Watering Tomato planter. I think Amazon may have them too. It's big enough for 2 plants. If it works out well, I may ask for another one next year so I can have other vegetables like peppers and eggplant. I'm HOPING it will help w/ the heat thing b/c if it's self watering, it won't get as dried out w/ the heat. All you have to do is check the water tank and fill as needed but not daily. Also since the plants will sit up off the ground, bugs SHOULD be less of a problem. And yes this is definitely the GOOD SON. SANDY amen on holidays being up and down. I'm just glad they're over and will be MORE glad when Bob goes back to work tomorrow. For another short week....grrrrrrrr ANGIE it sounds like, at least for you and your family, the holidays were unadulterated joy! YAY.... finally. LOL STEPH Good luck on your Fantasy League. Bob came in 2nd but his league is winner take all. Last night, Bob was doing shots of Knob Creek w/ the our neighbor (the husband), which is 120 proof. It didn't hit him until we came home and then he all of a sudden knew EVERYTHING. His poor son.... AJ's been dating this girl for all of 6 weeks. He doesn't have a good track record w/ girls. Either he tires of them or vice versa. Well Bob was CONSTANTLY... "so when are you getting married?" "Are you two going to have kids?" " When do I get to meet her?" CONSTANT. I felt so sorry for AJ and tried to "deflect". Bob's not normally like that. And I'm all "For Pete's sake... they just MET 6 weeks ago... lighten up." And then Bob was an expert on EVERYTHING. "You should take your G/F on a cruise. They're cheap!" WTH? He's been on 10 cruises w/ me and he's paid for a whopping ZERO of them. He's like "you and she can cruise for $500 TOTAL" REALLLLY? WHERE? Somalia? And "You need a passport. It takes at least 8 weeks for a passport." NOPE guess again. 4-6 MAX . Usually 3-4. And you don't need one if you're going to Mexico. And... "You need to plan WAY ahead. You need to make arrangements for what you want to do even if it's the beach". NOPE... you grab a taxi and GO, and they're free unless you hang out at a private beach. I sat there listening to him and shaking my head. B/c beside not paying for anything EVER on a cruise, he's NEVER EVER planned one single moment. Never made a single reservation for ANYTHING ... from the hotel before to the airfare to get home, to the shuttle to get us to our car when we get home. He's still asleep but I bet he wakes up w/ a BIG HEAD. LOL And deservedly so.

Sandy,Another cute picture of Katy.I agree.Holidays can be so up and down even if you don't overeat.I think we are all ready for a new year and routine.
Angie,Glad you are enjoying yourself with the kids and grands.
Steph,I think we all have our different allergies.Mine seems to be mold and it makes my head feel funny(odd)and a headache.I hope you get relief from your cedear allergies.I have only had cedar fever once in my life and I was miserable. The only store I went to was HEB and I guess most people still have an abundance of food left b/c it wasn't near as busy but I needed produce and yogurt.I didn't realize the Cowboys were playing tonight.Maybe I can watch a little in between DH's shows.Go MS state.
Celeste, lmao on definitely the good son.I will google and look on Amazon for the self watering tomato planter.Bob thinks cruises are cheap b/c he hasn't paid for any plus he was drunk.More like he'll wake up with a big headache. At least you know when to stop.Poor AJ.
I woke up with my back hurting this morning and I hoped going to Curves would stretch out the kinks.Evidently it wasn't that kind of backache.Something I did at Curves aggravated it and there's no way I'm going to walk this afternoon. It hurts to walk from the LR to the kitchen or the bathroom.Anyone who has back problems do you normally put heat or ice on it.It's not my normal curved spine aches. It's the whole back but mostly in the middle of my back.I have heat but no ice pack.

I am with Steph on being on plan this week even though I didn't go far off plan the sodium retention(since I'm no longer on BP meds)and the IBS has made for a small gain.Hoping it goes away with staying more on track this week.Maybe our January challenge could be something like restarting or something to do with resetting in Jan.

Becky, when I hurt my back, the chiro said ice every 20 min. Get a ziplock bag & wrap it with a towel. I put a towel on my chair & then ice. That way it shouldn't leak right on your furniture.
I like the restarting/resetting...will start thinking of something as well.
Ended up taking a nap through lunch this morning. That means laundry has not gotten done yet & DH unloaded/loaded dishwasher while I was asleep. I've been in my pjs all day & have no plans to change (well, I will take a bath & put on new..but not going out). Front room is straightened up & things just need to go back to school (although, I'm not sure where I'm going to put it there either). Storage boxes for home will go upstairs by my office space...guess what gets to be cleaned up next? Laundry time or I won't have anything to wear tomorrow.

Didn't sleep long enough today. Really needed another hour. Had trouble going to sleep, but once asleep I stayed that way. Got up and on the treadmill. Then a healthy supper of grilled chicken with roasted veggies and a salad. Unfortunately, I had a cookie for dessert. Then I cleaned the kitchen and we walked Shasta. It was 76 degrees today. Had only cooled to 65 by the time I left for work at 7:30. We set a new record high temp for Dec. 26. Should be getting rain over night.
CELESTE- I seem to remember you having a hangover not too long ago. Glad to see you learned your lesson, even if Bob didn't.
BECKY- I use a pkg of frozen peas or corn wrapped in a dish towel as an ice pack. Of course, you have to throw them out once they thaw....or you can just write on them with a marker that they are your ice pack so you have them for the next time.
