Ginny, I forgot to say that it must have been a great night for sleeping as I slept very well too. I didn't wake in the night which I usually do several times. Also that I'll be praying for God to direct you to the best contractor for your needs.
CJ, I really, really like those blocks. I especially like the one on the botton that looks a little orangey...I love how the leaves show up.

CJ- love the blocks….what about making a center star with the dark brown fabric and the leafy orange fabric? Using both fabrics? That would brighten it up a bit…and you could still use the dark brown fabric. Yeah, think some warmer and more humid air is here for a few days. Smart move to close up the house and keep the humidity out. Think its a few days before we see more fall like weather. I do like that leaf pattern!!!
Ruth, I also saw the WW special, and congrats on being at and staying so far below your goal weight. That is quite something especially because you cook so much wonderful food for your Dh. Its hard not to eat all the yummy foods you make for others. I am sure you will be able to come up with a really nice pattern to make Dh’s wrap. So sweet that he has asked you to make this for him, as I know you love to crochet.
Glad I brought everything in yesterday as we have had some light drizzle this am. Think this afternoon I will focus on putting the family room back together as much as I can. That should keep me pretty busy and give me a little activity too.
Got my blood work back….all seems ok but I do have to work on my cholesterol. (And I have not been that careful!!!). Think if I just focus and lose the 20-25 pounds I should that might take care of a lot of issues.

Hello :0 Ruth - Hope you are getting to do some crocheting today. Ginny - I'm glad to hear your bloodwork was alright, good luck with working on lowering your cholesterol. Have you been watching Chesapeake Shores? I've lost interest in it with the way they are taking the storyline. It's probably better when you haven't read the books because then you don't expect things to go a certain way. I may try to watch it tonight. Thanks for the thoughts on the leaf quilt. I think I might have figured out a way forward, but I still want to test out one of those center blocks from the pattern. If it's not too difficult sewing on those triangle pieces I'll do that. Otherwise I might just make large half square triangles to make the center star. It's a cloudy day here today, but no rain although it's in the area. I finished up quilting the 4th block of 6 blocks on my hand pieced sampler a few days ago and I'm hoping to get the last 2 blocks hand quilted this week. Then I have sashings and a border to do. There are days I don't want to pick it up and then other days where I do so I take advantage of those. I've been checking out the blogs for Slow Sunday Stitching today and I saw another quilt along that I might think about doing - I know I just need to quit looking for them This is the quilt, but I wouldn't do it in red, white and blue. I also thought about just making a smaller version. katyquilts.net/2021/08/24/two-and-four-qal/Take care everyone!

That quilt is nice but it sure looks like a lot of work!! I guess now that we're older we have time for more complicated things. It's a blessing to have time for doing the things we love to do
Ginny, I forgot that I wanted to ask you about spinach balls. You said you were making them for your Bible study group and they sound interesting.
I haven't got to crochet yet as I was searching for my stash of greeting cards. I wanted to send a thank you card and letter to my neighbors in Indiana. My son got there one weekend with his push mower and thought he'd be spending the weekend mowing but when he got there the grass was all mowed. Two of the neighbors did it. I have the one neighbor's name and address but not the other. Anyway I couldn't find my cards. I can't imagine where they would be because they aren't anywhere I've looked. Maybe they somehow got into one of the bags I was packing up to donate. I haven't seen them in a couple years and searched for them back then too.

Yes I made garlic spinach balls- Dd#2 really likes them, think Ds eats them also.. I will post a link for the recipe, its from Taste of Home. Unfortunately, its made with stuffing mix which is not gluten free. Ruth you sound like me, I cannot always find the cards I buy or have kept so I always have a card available to send. Hope you find yours. I used to buy mine from Current catalog, they have great prices and sell nice assortments of cards if you want to stock up.
CJ- about a week ago they showed a bunch of Chesapeake shores from other seasons….I have been working my way through that. I did watch the first episode of the new season. I read somewhere that Jesse Metcalfe (the actor who played Trace) wanted to leave the series….so that explains that plot change. I was upset with Hallmark channel for who they ended the season with Elizabeth choosing in When Calls the Heart….but I will continue to watch that. With the lack of decent television shows, I will most likely watch Chesapeake Shores, but I am not happy with that plot change (and I did not read the books). I love that quilt you picked out…it reminds me of the antique quilt I saw at a quilt show several years ago….similar design and it was completely scrappy. Quite a masterpiece. Good to hear that you resumed work on the quilt and you finished the 4th block. Yes sometimes we need to take a break from projects.
After church Dd #2 and DSIL and the baby came over for a few hours. It was nice to see them, as always.
Got most of the family room put back together from the water problem. A little more work on it tomorrow and I should be done.
Hope to sit and crochet awhile Ginny
