Wow that's alot to pop into the calculator!! We've had to put in,
Kilojoules Protein Total fat Sugar
I think you won't be able to do this new program without being a ww member because there's just too many calculations and variables. So there's not going to supermarket or eating out guide books like the 'old days'!

I think thatās been the intention all along, to keep everyone reliant on an App that isnāt free.

chook I have to agree, we've not had a calculator or food scales for a few years now and there wasn't a points guide available for most of this year.

On our US Connect, I saw someone posting (in the last couple of days) about needing an updated points guide (don't recall whether it was general or restaurant) but the "authorized WW respondent" actually said that there would not be new ones coming out. So yes - it looks like it will really be "app or nothing" when it comes to calculating points.

6 inputs for calculations? I have a Smartpoints calculator at home, and all you enter are four numbers. Agree with Chook. WW will make you use the app, spend money for subscriptions. So grateful I still have Pointsplus and now really understand why calorie counting has made such a huge comeback.

So there's not going to supermarket or eating out guide books like the 'old days'! That's what our actual handheld SmartPoints calculators use too. I think they went to having everything entered to cut down on copycat apps here in the states at least. It also helps with the app not crashing during program changes and people losing all of their recipes and saved foods because everything is there so they can recalculate it easily. I like that Fiber is back in the equation though!! And also that it is just added sugar now, maybe milk won't be as bad on PersonalPoints! š„

I wonder if other countries are being rolled out early too? Anyone from Europe here currently doing WW? reneinitaly or cathygeha when you look at your WW homepage does it say anything about a new plan? There is no program in Lebanon. When at goal weight and I had moved back to Lebanon in 1994 or perhaps it was after getting back to goal in 1999...I contacted Weight Watchers about starting a franchise in Lebanon and they said they would not deal with the country. So, I have been doing my best to find the information, visit WW when in the USA and get the weight off. I don't think they are in any Arab country but they are in Israel, I believe.

Good morning everyone, Iām a long time lurker and have decided to come out of hiding and introduce myself. Iām a long-time WW member, off and on for over 20 years. Iām doing the digital plan right now because of the pandemic (Iām a blood cancer survivor, so being extra careful and not going to meetings). Iāve lost weight with WW but always gained it back - I sort of have a love/hate relationship with them but I always return because I feel like itās the healthiest. Iām watching with interest this new plan, since Iāve struggled with Smart Points. Iām currently doing Purple and like it, but I sometimes wonder if WW has caused me to have some disordered thinking about food, with the good food/bad food emphasis. I guess I need to shift my thinking towards better choices, not necessarily good or bad. Anyway, thanks for the information thatās been provided so far - this board always come through. Hope you all have a great day.

Ok, so Personal Points has arrived in Australia and all the info is on the landing page for My Day on the App.
That being said, I cannot see where to take the assessment and my tracker hasnāt been converted to the new plan yet. It is a little after midnight, so I hope that gets sorted soon. I have no idea if my daily budget has gone up or down or stayed the sameā¦
BUT HERE IS WHAT I DO KNOW:
The points calculation is a new algorithm
It will be based on age, sex, height, activity and metabolism (whatever that means is yet to be seen)
You can grow your points budget by Eating non starchy vegetables (1 extra point per serveā¦there is a reference list)
Drinking more water (1 extra point per 1.75 litresā¦sorry donāt know the US equivalent)
Exercise (pts added to budget dependent on age, sex, weightā¦but amount added to your budget is unlimited/not capped).
Roll overs same as usual
No mention of Blue Dots.
Eggs zero no matter what you choose
Avocado and guacamole (if no added sugar) is zero
Live virtual sessions to learn all the basics, first session is not until tomorrow evening. Mini sessions for those who are more tech savvy beginning 8th Nov
Program booklet available online to look at, and strongly suspect is what will be given out in workshops.
No new food guide in the WW Shop, and donāt think there ever will be for this plan as values may change depending on your zero list/personalised plan.
I might be totally wrong, this looks like all the info but not the actual program. Lots of razzmatazz and resources, but App doesnāt reflect the changesā¦.yet.
Just my 2centsā¦initial impression is that it looks complicated and too much like Freestyle.
update: The personalised assessment appeared and questions asked:
*are you diabetic/pre-diabetic *how often do you eat vegetables *how often do you eat fruit *Do you often eatā¦.. (list consists of sweet snacks, salty snacks, fast food, alcohol, breads and crackers, *what protein sources do you eat *what starchy carbs sources do you eat *activity-do you wish to measure time or steps (I based mine on steps) *how many steps do you average a day during the week how many steps a day on weekends
Based on my answers, my points dropped from 30 SP (green) to 22 free foods are now popcorn/corn, potatoes and sweet potatoes, skinless chicken and turkey, FF yogurt, plus fruits and non starchy veg.
activity goals given at a slightly higher amount than I currently average.
my Weeklies dropped from 35 to 28

DebDoesWW, thank you! I have been double tracking calories lately as well, and seeing the disconnect between calories/points is a real eye opener. Sometimes I think I should just count calories, but Iām always pulled back to WW. Thanks Chook for the information as youāre getting it. Will sit tightā¦ā¦
