CJ, I thought of you today at the grocery store because I remembered that you like pumpkin spice and I saw pumpkin spice bread. I've seen a lot of things in pumpkin spice before but not bread.

Ginny, I looked to see if you mentioned a pattern for your practice tie point ornament but couldn't find it. Do you have a pattern or is it the one of those on you tube?
I really like the effect and saw some in other colors.
My helper will be returning tomorrow. While I've missed the help, I've enjoyed the privacy!
Yesterday was the doctor appointment. I went with a big attitude adjustment, and that helped. It's not her fault that our PCP took a job with the VA! Because hb's weight has stayed the same for three months, he may not qualify for hospice bard on weight loss, but she was really listening to me and maybe he will on regular criteria. We'll see. He is unable to pick out appropriate clothing for the weather or the occasion, but he can and does put them on by himself (sort of). He wears the same clothing for days (lack of judgement). He can't find food on his own. He can feed himself, but he won't eat or accept something else if he doesn't like it. There are three jackets hanging near the garage door, but he started swearing and yelling that he didn't know which one to wear yesterday. Easy fix, but sometimes it's hard to predict and plan. There's now one jacket handing on the hook which I'll have to vary with the weather.

Sue, my doctor a few years back did the same thing. Closed her private practice and went to the VA. I sure feel for you Sue. YOu have a lot of your hands. It does sound as though your hubby's situation is deteriorating and you'll need a lot of help. I'm sorry that you are faceing all this. Isn't getting older fun!

Hmmmm….the pictures dome through on the IPad and my phone… cannot explain why they did not come through on a laptop; Board and brush is a company (many different locations) where you sign up for a party or a class to make a craft. Normally they are signs or plaques to hang, really pretty stuff….of course not all is to my taste. its items similar to the kind of thing that Hobby Lobby sells….think if you sign up for or attend a party the party all does the same design….as tomorrow is open craft night, you can select what your particular desired craft is. I signed up to make a sign that says Merry Christmas….which will go next to my front door. The staff at B&B assist with the project which is of course a preselected design. Honestly, it could’ be made for $20 or less…. Glad your Joanns package was safe and sound- and so sorry that you saw some poor examples of masks wearing. think we have all become complacent. Well not all of us, but you know what I mean. Sue- I am so sorry that your doctor is moving…..I hope that somehow you can have Dh fit into the criteria needed so you can get the additional help. And I can imagine that the loss of privacy is a frustrating thing for you. the prarie point ornaments are on youtube- I will post the link below. The video is HORRIBLE, she is long winded and takes 10 minutes to say what could be said in 3. But its complete….so glad you could stop in to say hello. Worked this am, but am home for the rest of the day…hoping this headache will go away….. see ya later! Ginny www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlQcpR9ZBZk (Video for prarie point ornaments)

Hello Ginny - Your ornaments are beautiful! I had some relatives go together to one of those craft places and they made some decorative signs for their house, they enjoyed it - hope you do too. I also hope your headache gets better. Ruth - I'm glad you were able to get some shopping done, hope you found most/all of what you were looking for. I haven't seen any pumpkin bread either, but I'm enjoying the pumpkin cereals again this year. Sue - I'm glad you'll get some help back, but sorry about the loss of privacy. I wish you all the best taking care of your DH. Phyl - Hope you are feeling well. We've had 2 nice days here but tomorrow is supposed to be windy and wet. I'm hoping it's not too bad, looks like it'll be worse along the Chesapeake Bay and I'm miles from there. I hurt my finger yesterday so I haven't done any crafting to give it a chance to heal. I'm hoping I won't need to get it x-rayed/checked. It's just a bit stiff but not painful. Take care everyone!

Thanks for the link, Ginny. I agree. Not easy watching!
I thought about going to quilting today but decided not to. Instead I went back to sleep! This would have been a good day, but there will be another. I'm not too keen about sitting that close to other people just yet!
Helper is really not ready to come back. I have things to do where she won't have to bend or lift, but those are the things I can do. What she is going through is far worse than child birth. She may still have to have a D and C. Her husband/boyfriend was let go because he missed a week. He has found another job already starting Monday. He did the heavier inside jobs for me today. Tomorrow I'm going to have him cover up the bulbs I'm planting. He dug the trenches and holes about a month ago. The bulbs arrived earlier this week.

Oh No!!! CJ- I am so very sorry to hear that you injured your finger. Of course, Ruth will be able to provide much better general information than me - but if the finger is just stiff and not painful, this does not sound too serious an injury. Sounds like a good day to check out the blogs and facebook pages… (perhaps splinting or supporting that injured finger to prevent further irritation of the finger. I know you will take care of this if you need medical attention. In my very uneducated non medical opinion, just rest it up and try not to reinjure it. Hey I have an idea…..pick up a new quilting magazine! Maybe that will keep you happy while you wait for the finger to heal. Hope that the windy wet weather is not too bad in your area. Just what we needed - more rain, right? Stay safe, I am sure you are well stocked and have no “need” to go out unless you need a quilting magazine or more fabric. Take care…
Sue, you have to do what is best for you and what you are comfortable with. There will be other quilting days…and I hope that soon you feel comfortable enough to attend. Glad you got extra sleep- that is important also…..Just know that its a time in your life where it would be good for you to take the best care of yourself possible…and if that means going out for an hour or so, or getting some extra rest. Regarding that video- I had to fast forward through it when I needed additional information. But the ornaments come out cute and are pretty easy to make. That is great that your helpers husband was able to get another job quickly- good to hear that your bulbs have been planted and you will be treated to their lovely blooms in the spring.
Got my walk in…..and will check email… and then some housework. .hope everyone has a great day.

CJ,I'm sorry to hear that you injured your finger in some way. If it's still and not painful and there is not a cut involved it should be fine. If there's a cut there could be a tendon cut or partially cut in which case you should have it checked out so they can repair the tendon before it's too late. Otherwise, what Ginny said...splint if you can and rest and after a few days start exercising it gently.
Well it sounds like CJ saw the pictures so it must be just on my end.
Sue I'm glad that your helper's bf stepped up to help out. Yes, again what Ginny said, do what's best for you in regards to going out.
I'm working on a mosaic hat. I probably said that before. There are so many being posted on the crochet group who's leader offered the pattern and it's fun to do if a little slow. I'm not sure I'm going to send the Christmas hats after all. My dh suggested that we get suggestions from DS and DDIL for what the boys would like for their birthday, order online and have shipped to their house so I did that. For DS dh already ordered a gift and had it sent and ds already received it and opened it even though his actual bday is not till the end of Nov. For the dgd I'm sending money because her mother said that dgd would love money to buy makeup and other things teen girls like.So I'll save the hats as I'm doing with the blankets and will take them with us when we visit and give them to them then to use next year.So pressure is off me and I can relax and make what I want to make without time restraints.
Ginny, did anyone mention to the woman that made that video that maybe she should cut the talking some and concentrate on just giving instructions for the ornaments? I've seen videos where people have done that. It probably accomplishes nothing really though.

Ruth, I just emailed the picture of the ornaments to you…..hope they get there. Think Dh had a great idea and its nice that you do not have to come up with what you hope they will like- nice to just send the gifts as you did. I am happy for you that the pressure is off of you and now you can put your talent and effort into other projects. I am sure that they will appreciate the hats too when you get to visit with them. thanks for your professional advice for CJ- who I am hoping is staying dry in this storm.
Not really looking forward to my trip to the craft night this evening….but its not supposed to start raining until Its almost time to come home. Hopefully I can stay awake….andI am sure that I will have a good time with the other women who will be there. I am just such a home body - especially in the evening.
They have upgraded the amount of rain…..just what I did not want to hear.So I figure I will have some water in the house. hoping not much however.
Of course my crafting today will be the workshop I am attending this evening.
Have a good night all G

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well Thanks for the thoughts/suggestions on my finger. I fell the other day and I guess I put out my hand to break the fall and bent one of my fingers. It doesn't hurt and I don't have a cut, it's just a bit stiff. I iced it and splinted it for a day but I'm not doing anything now, just flexing it sometimes. I'm just glad I didn't break anything! I was able to cut some fabric today for the Fall Frolic block and hope to sew them together this weekend. We did have a lot of rain today and some wind. There was a lot of flooding around the Potomac River and around the Chesapeake Bay due to the high tide coming today too. Ginny - I hope you have a good time this evening and don't have any problems from the rain. Ruth - Hope the mosiac hat is coming along and I'm glad you can work on some projects you want now since the pressure is off for the other gifts. Sue - I'm glad your helper's husband is able to help you with some things and hope that she gets better soon. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. Take care everyone and have a good weekend!

CJ, just a thought . . . You mentioned the Chesapeake Bay. I remember from a time long ago that the Bay was frozen, and we were able to walk out on the ice! It was really cold that winter!
I lived in Baltimore 1960-1964.
I also have very clear memories of some of the children in my classroom, Kennedy's assassination, the beginning of Beatle songs (I used to drive to school singing I Wanna Hold You Hand), the space program, working as a tech for a biochemist, a wasp flying into my classroom (I had an epi pen in my desk for a highly allergic student) driving across the country.
As I am reorganizing the house, I have moved my sewing machine into the sunroom on the west side of the house. Some of the shelving and boxes will stay in the sewing room. I took hb into the room to look, and he thought it was fine. There may be some adjustments needed, but this is actually the easiest way to do things. Easy works for me. lol The room is small, but he chose that room.
I still need to call the moving company to move some of the bigger pieces. In the process of doing that I'll be creating more space in passageways. Some pieces near doors have sharp corners. There is a 2.5 ft x 6 ft planter at the top of the stairs with very sharp corners. It's built into the wall, so I can't move it. I want to put something to cushion the corners. After my experience with the kitchen countertop corner?and a MTBI, I am over sensitized to corners!

Happy Saturday all!!
CJ, i am just so glad that the worst impact of your incident is that you have a mildly injured finger. Glad its not seriously injured and Its good to hear that you were able to get some cutting done, so obviously the finger is somewhat usable. Hope you are feeling well enough to work on your fall frolic block, which will be really pretty. Its always nice to see what fabrics you put together and how you use them. From what you have indicated you came through the storm yesterday just fine. So glad to hear that!!!!
Sue, some productive reorganization of your house seems to be a good thing. The idea of your sewing machine being in a sun room is so lovely….yes, easy is a good thing, especially with all that you have going on in your life. Absolutely do what you must do to protect corners and yourself and Dh. I wonder if your caregiver’s husband might have some friends to help move those larger pieces of furniture. I enjoyed hearing about your memories…
Survived my evening at Board and Brush. I will post a picture of what I made last night, which I guess I am overall happy with. They say we got 4 inches of rain the past week, so if that is true I survived ok. Perhaps a tiny bit more of water in the machine room, which I will not clean up (as its in a remote corner) behind the hot water tank. They have pushed off the rain till tomorrow.
Not sure what today will bring….think I am going to see Dd but am unsure if she will come here or I will go visit her.
Heard last night from one of the women that they are seeing shortages in the grocery store….seems insane. Simply amazing what one election has done to our nation.

CJ, I'm so glad that you did not get hurt more when you fell! I try very hard not to fall but it's easier to fall once we get older. I'm glad the finger allowed you to do the cutting. It's frustrating when you can't do what you need and want to do.
Ginny, I'm glad you got just a little bit of water in your house and that it's in a spot where it doesn't cause falls. Also that you enjoyed being with friends last evening and the rain held off so that you didn't have to drive in it. I'd say, though, that you obviously are very experienced in driving in all kinds of weather but what I always told my kids is "watch out for the other guy". Some people just don't know how to drive properly and endanger the lives of the rest of us.
Yes they say hyperinflation is coming and we need to be prepared. It was bad enough in the years that BO was pres and looks like it's going to be even worse with this one or this administration no matter who is the actual president. I haven't seen shortages of any food items here so far but the prices have certainly risen in the stores and online.
Sue, yes the corners are dangerous when you have small children then again when we get older.
