Does the pp engine question about sweet treats, salty, fast food, (don't remember the rest) change our points? No. The more things you say you eat decreases the number of proteins you can select.

THAT is really interesting, here I've been scratching my head wondering why they'd ask if it doesn't change your points. Thank you 🙂

Why do some people claim some foods are higher for some people based on how they answer the assessment? They are not talking about zero point foods. They claim if someone says they eat sweets regularly a Snickers for example would be more points for that person than someone who said they did not eats sweets regularly. They claim this is to penalize the sweet tooth person to discourage them from eating so many sweets.
The way I’ve always understood it is the only thing that would different for people would be something in a zero point group. Any food that is not zero point should be the same for everyone.

The only way something would be different points for someone is if a zero food is involved. A snickers bar is the same amount of points for everyone. I've used dozens of different combinations and have answered questions differently and never once has a non-zero list food been a different point. They ask that question to leave you points to enjoy those things but it will mean less zero point foods.

Some people are wrong. I went through that assessment several times to see what difference the various answers made (I was just curious). But, you know, sometimes people just assume stuff and don't really look for the evidence.

Kitty I could swear when the plan changed the ww breakfast cookies went from 3p to 4p for me but for others they stayed 3, I stopped buying them then.
Also remember them making a pretty big deal about using our own app to scan because the pointed foods could be different for each of us.
Has that gone by the wayside ?

Jennifer, One reason to use your own app for scanning is that everyone's zero-point food list is unique to them.

Jennifer, One reason to use your own app for scanning is that everyone's zero-point food list is unique to them. I remember specifically though, this was about pointed foods. We were told that there would be a point range on WW product boxes. The products that were the same points on all plans would have 1 number. Did this quietly go away?

I think when they say to use your scanner to scan pointed foods..... They aren't talking Snickers bars, which are the same for everyone. However, a Smart Ones meal with chicken may not be...because if I have chicken as a zero food and someone else doesn't, that Smart Ones is less points for me because my chicken is zero; but will be higher for someone that doesn't have chicken as zero. So in that type of situation there could be different points for each individual. And since the point calculation has changed some "snacky" things *did* go up in points, but that was because the calculation changed, not because of zero foods. I do think they are still working on that database!! This is why this program fails miserably......there's two many "what ifs" and it's too confusing!!!

I'm sorry the plan does not work for you, I love it and really see a lot of success at the meetings I go to. The leaders always take time to celebrate the charms and total weight loss. This morning's meeting we had someone reach lifetime. I hope you find what works well for you :-)

I actually am one that enjoys this plan too and has success when I actually stick to it (pretty much same as every other weight loss program I may be on at the time).
I like to keep things simple since so much of my life has complexity between work and kids and family etc. So for me, just going with the plan as written, taking the assessment honestly the first time, is fortunately not causing me any headache or heartburn. Seems pretty simple when I just approach it from that standpoint.
I understand it's not for everyone though.

I wish I could afford more fruits that's all. I likee it too. I can eat healthy on this plan. But inflation is affecting my ability. I can't gt off diet soda which would save me a lot.

You can always stop buying it, its much easier to break a habit if the culprit is not in your house. I have a list of things I can't have near me sigh For fruit, have you checked out the frozen fruit at Costco? Blueberries, Cherries? They are reasonable. I got bananas at Aldi for 35 cents a lb Also if you like canned fruit, stores like Gorden's have the #10 cans of peaches, pineapple, applesauce for very reasonable.

I filled empty pitcher I had with water. I put them in refrigerator. I will drink 1 or 2 sodas in morning. And try to drink water. I know my boyfriend wants toil it with crystal light which gives me guru whereas diet soda doesn't. I can afford more food this way.
