This is a beautiful sunny morning, and we're out of the sub zero weather after 5-6 miserable days. The woofers iwere very unhappy! Now that temperature is better, the snow on the back deck is diminishing. I'm now sire how much there was last Sunday, but it was about 12" more or less.
Things are about the same here. No success in finding help. hb continues a very slow decline. I can handle almost all the caregiving part, but that means putting off household tasks that I would ordinarily be doing. That's okay for a while.
Just for fun I created a ball from a skein of yarn and have just barely started yet another colorful scarf. The yarn is a red but varies from solid to tweed. The red has some pink in it.
For extra fun I bought a car, mostly over the phone and online! I picked it up on Thursday. Honda Passport. It's seven inches shorter than a Pilot and doesn't have the third tow of seats. Otherwise, it's not really a change from what I had. The steering wheel is heated which is a true perk in this northern clime with six months of winter! I've had heated seats for most of my years here, so that's now new.
I'm working on taxes, other paperwork, and more paperwork. Not my favorite thing to do.

Sue, it's good to see you. We didn't get much snow but had those bitter cold days. Now that it's a little warmer we're having the blasting winds that make it feel colder. I'm sorry to hear you aren't able to find a helper. As for paperwork, yes that's what I'm doing right now too. I hate having to do it. Congrats on the new car. I've never had heated seats or heated sterring wheel but it sure would be a nice feature especiallly for my hands.

Hello Sue - Congratulations on the new car purchase. I hope everything goes well with the pickup and that you enjoy it. I also hope you can find some help with your DH soon. Ruth - Hope you found the paperwork you were looking for. It seems like dealing with paperwork is never ending sometimes. Ginny - I hope all your snow finally melts with the milder temperatures. I'm glad you were able to fix the block. It's in the low 50s here today and sunny, so it's nice to get some milder weather. I finally felt like working on some quilting this morning after several days of not wanting to, so I took advantage of that and finished the top for the FlapJack quilt along that Pat Sloan is doing. I just made the smaller size and added a few borders. I used the fabric from the Moonstone collection that I'd bought to do the Sweet Dreams quilt along and then changed my mind. I do like the border fabric and a few other fabrics in this line, but several of them I don't care for, so that's why it hasn't been fun for me making these last few quilt tops. I'm done with that fabric for now. I've used up all the fat quarters and just have some yardage that I'll put away. I'm hoping to get to the machine applique shamrocks next. Take care everyone

CJ- well I think the quilt top is very pretty, even if you are not totally fond of all the fabrics. You did a stunning job putting it together, and I bet you are very glad that the moonstone fabrics are all used up and frees you up to work with fabrics that you like better.. Congrats on a pretty quilt, even if you are not overly fond of the fabrics.
Ruth, paperwork is such a pain in the neck! Hope it goes quickly and easily for you….and that you can get to more pleasurable pursuits. Like playing with yarn.
Sue, congrats on the new car!!! Hope you enjoy the heated steering wheel and seats and that the car serves you well. I am sorry that you have not been able to find a suitable helper for around the house for Dh. Keep searching…perhaps someone will want the job and be suitable. It must be so frustrating for you.Are you able to find help with your household chores ( leaving you to take care of Dh?). I know that is not what you want, but help is help. Hope you have fun making that bright scarf.
Busy day….I had a lunch to attend for a woman at my church (to celebrate her 75th birthday ) and between that and church most of my day was taken up. I did get to start putting that block back together, which should take very little time now that I figured out what I did wrong. I just had to flip a center section and then reattach the sides and top. Easy stuff!!!
See you tomorrow Ginny
Cannot believe that tomorrow is Monday. Ugh….. see y

CJ, the quilt top is very pretty. The colors may not be bright ones but they are pretty and go together well. I'm glad that you have finished it and accomplished your goal of using up at least most of that fabric and will be able to move on now to using some you like better.
Ginny. I've always enjoyed luncheons and dinners at church. Most of the ones I've been to have been pot lucks and it's interesting to see the variety and most of all to eat them. Then there's the enjoyment of being with the people there.
