Hello
Ruth - Hope you are doing well today and that you get to do some crocheting.
Ginny - Hope you were able to get out and enjoy a walk, sounds like a beautiful area to walk in.
I can't take any credit for changing up Pat Sloan's pattern on the Sweet Dreams quilts so far, since that inner border with the triangles, and the 9 patch blocks, are part of her quilt pattern What's left to do is the 14 quilt blocks around the outer edge, with the sashing strips, and the 4 large half square triangles in the corners. She had said that she is only going to give out 7 more block patterns and we would make each block twice (to get the 14 blocks for the outer border).
This is where I'm going to change mine up since I want to use the lighthouse panel pieces in 8 blocks, and I'll have to see what I can do on the floral side. Instead of just a full floral fabric block, maybe I'll make a star block, or something else - my goal will be to show more of the floral fabric so I can hopefully tie this quilt together.
I was able to finish piecing my yellow/gold strip blocks for the monthly Rainbow Scrap Challenge, so I'm all caught up with my yellow/gold scraps for the month. I saw where a quilter had made a blocks like these and then sewed strips of sashing/borders around the block. I don't know why I didn't think about that, but I'm doing to do that with all these blocks when I'm done this year and that will make them easier to make a quilt top. Since they are different shapes, I can cut the sashing/border strips for the blocks to make them end up the same size. It does feel good to know that by later this year I will have used up the majority of my scraps.
It's cooler here today, in the 50s and a bit cloudy and windy - a more typical March day. Hope your weather is nice. Take care
