Good morning all. Hope everyone's Christmas was as joyful as anticipated.
i am sugared out. I actually tossed & turned all night & im blaming too many cookies and a heaping pile of fudge. And I'm starving! I am going to be so ready to get back on the good.
havent even seen a dog walker yet. Looks like the neighborhood is sleeping in.

Good Monday! Sulli I was awake quite a bit last night and attributed food and lack of walking much for two days.
Have to work today so I was up and ready to go. It was quiet on the streets with schools out and federal employees off. That is a large part of our workforce here.
Feels good to be back in a routine and all leftovers are in freezer containers or just gone. I am betting on at least a week and a half to drop the holiday bloat.
Saw the first WW commercial this morning...the one with Oprah that was talked about on another thread here. Let the weight loss in America begin! Actually seeing those does push me into the good mindset again.
Good Monday to all....Turns on the large coffee urn....Large Mugs piled nearby....

Good morning, Friends. Glad I could check in before I head to Salem for the (hopefully) last load and a Goodwill drop off. J worked like a trojan last Monday and Tuesday, so I think one trip this week will do it for him, too. I'm so glad he has the week off, although he doesn't have hobbies and is always at loose ends; I need to volunteer for more movies, etc. We had a lovely day yesterday, SO glad we made the move before Xmas. I decorated the mantle while I was waiting for J Saturday so there was a tiny bit of the apt that is not chaos. You see, now that I can ad photos, I will be ridiculous! Our lunch was fantastic yesterday, but I think one of the gifts of these past years is learning to eat small meals. The restaurant is *farm to table* and I didn't realize it was going to be a buffet. I'll give myself props for not *needing to eat what I have paid for* but it was still a lot more food than I eat any more and I hate feeling that full. The good news was that I only dabbed at dessert. Brady and I face-timed from Paris; it was all good. I think I am most grateful that I wasn't the nervous wreck I sometimes am at the holidays. I'm rarely really satisfied with my daily food reality, still isn't what I wish it was, but today I'll take it, LOL! Everyone have a good one!

Good Morning!
Back on track for me and it feels so right! Actually I was back yesterday after falling off the wagon on Saturday:)
Going to relax around the homestead today, get a few chores done, take a walk and look for a good book to read on my kindle.
Kathy, the mantle is beautiful!
Have a great day, all!

Good morning, all!
I'm IN.
Kathy, the mantel is beautiful - and those MOLDINGS - <OMG>.
Today always used to be the Boxing Day celebration for Toots & me, after the Seven Services of Christmas were over and I finally got some sleep. Now we're STILL going to celebrate it, as a peaceful and relaxing day with just-enough stuff on the "maybe if we FEEL like it" list - and as part of our Twelve Days of Christmas.
We had a wonderful time at Longwood Gardens yesterday. It was a sunny and pleasant drive down and we went directly to the cafe when we arrived shortly after noon. Good thinking on our part - the cafe was nicely busy when we got there and by the time we were ready to leave, the line was "out the door"! The indoor and outdoor displays are, of course, spectacular (it's Longwood, after all!) and we spent hours walking around there. We left just as the afternoon overflow crowds were gathering, and arrived home around 6 PM. I was really glad that dinner was a planned feast of repurposed KressMess Eve food mixed with lots of fresh and quickly prepared vegetables. The rest of our evening was dedicated to relaxation and football (did'ja see the Steelers pull off that victory!?!?).
I'm watching the sky lighten - clouds are gathering - and I "slept in" to all of 6:19 PM. Toots is stuffy from his cold and is still abed.
Have a peaceful, joyful, healthy-eating day, all!

ksbruns, how do you load a personal photo? It always asks for a link or web site...jealous Sulli and Beth, I'm taking lots of stuff to the office to get it out of my house! Going to get some house organizing dinner before i take the kids to see Sing!

lmenglish There is a thread below on embedding photos and I used those directions. The trick for me has been getting them to a home....I exported the photo to PhotoBucket and there you copy the *direct* link. I also had to learn to export the photo in the Medium size, originally they were so huge you had to scroll to look at one photo. diva49 What fun! And your new photo is great. We never made it to Longwood when we lived in Pittsburgh, but I have heard of them. What a lovely holiday tradition.

Good morning all! ksbruns Your mantle is so pretty and I'm glad I'm actually seeing this picture! LOL! I still feel full from the eating done yesterday. I tracked as well as I could and I'm off the sugar wagon for sure. Lots of water and on track today. Treating yesterday as a Holi-DAY and not a holi-WEEK or holi-MONTH helps me stay focused! No more sugar for sure. I'm off this morning with DD and DGS to see "Rogue One" at the movie. We're all Star Wars fans so this will be fun!

Morning everyone! Thanks for kicking us off sullicat1! So nice to hear about everyone's wonderful holiday. ksbruns your mantle is beautiful! And yes to answer a few questions at once for both you and lmenglish. When you insert photos here, that link has to go someplace to get it, each time the page is opened here since nothing is actually store here. For personal photos that means they have to be kept stored somewhere where a link is available, photobucket etc.. If you delete the image from there (photobucket) there is nothing to "grab" when this page is opened and it goes to get the link. Thus you get the message "photo not found". Have fun at the movies Linda it looks so cute!

Kathy, your mantle is beautiful. With all, you, had to do with the move, etc you were able to do that & my mantle still isn't done! I've yet to be able to get a photo or a pic from the web imbedded here.
Going out soon to get something to irrigate my ears. This clogginess is driving me crazy.
I definitely did not overeat this holiday but I ate way too many sweets which has left me feeling a little more sluggish than usual. And I have a lot of sweet stuff people gave me that I need to get out of this house. Now I just want meat & potatoes, lol.

Good morning. I am definitely in Christmas goody overload. There's going to be a bunch that will go in the freezer. I didn't bake much, a pan of bars and a batch of fudge, but my son brought a whole bunch that he received from his parishioners. Not that I'm not going to eat any more while he is here, but I'm going to be very limited and picky about what I choose.
Our storm came as predicted but the blizzard part was a little late. It snowed most of yesterday, but the wind didn't pick up until evening and lasted through the night. It is still blowing, but not snowing much so visibility is about a mile or so. The snow is still drifting. My yard has drifts from about 1 1/2 ft to anywhere up to 2 1/2 or 3 ft. The largest is what filled in around my lilac bushes, almost 4 ft. The 2 rabbits that have been hanging around the yard are happy. They have lots of new branches to chew on. We're still under a blizzard warning until about noon today.
