Good afternoon Ladies and if any gentlemen are looking in, good afternoon to you also.
Ginny I'm glad you were able to work with fabric yesterday. There's nothing like working on one of our hobbies to make us happy and relaxed.I imagine today will be another busy one for you though but you will get this quilt completed. And your block a month quilt also.
CJ I imagine you are busy sewing and gathering fabric together for your current quilting projects. Working with all that beautiful quilt fabric would make anyone happy.
I did complete the first section on mountains and I have to admit that they don't look too bad. There's one spot where it looks like a stitch is missing but it's not so I don't know what caused that but I think you would have to look hard to find it especially if you weren't a person that crochets. Today is another hot one which I don't mind so much as my dh does. I'll be crocheting with the two fans going and right now it's pretty comfortable. Most people say they don't crochet much in the summer or do small items but I put my blanket beside me when I crochet so very little of it covers me.
I hope you're all having a good day. I'll be back later

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today Sounds like some of you have some really hot weather. I'm hoping not to get that hot weather for awhile yet, I hate it I finished making all the hourglass blocks and got them all trimmed today. Now I have to remake some of the 9 patch blocks I already did, since I can kind of figure out how these blocks are going to go together - and I'd like mine to match. I hope to get that done by tomorrow and then I can work on the two Moda Blockhead blocks, they are pretty easy this week. I keep telling myself not to start any new projects, since I have enough going on but I keep seeing beautiful quilt patterns every day Take care

CJ- its hard to resist when you are constantly finding pretty patterns to make, and with all the fabric you have on hand, its easy to understand that you want to start a new quilt, or two or three. Good luck remaking the 9 patch blocks. I hope they turn out well and please you .
Phyl- what kind of block is the 10 1/2 inch block you are making? Yikes it is hot by you. Hope your temps cool soon.
Ruth, I tend to go to smaller projects in the summer- just so I am not lugging a large project around. Good to hear that you are pleased with how the mountains afghan is turning out. No one will notice the imperfection only you because you know it is there.
Hoping for an easy day tomorrow. Just too busy today and I did not sleep well. Ginny

Phyl, sorry about the block problem. I'm sure you'll get it next try. I'm glad to hear you're using a/c in the hot weather. Stay hydrated too.
CJ, I know what you mean. I start a project then see so many other really nice ones I want to do. There's not enough hours in the day to do all I want to do. well I could stop wasting time I guess.
Well I started over on the blanket again, not once, but twice. I had ripped out the original one so I left the one where I finished the section of mountains and will try to get this one better then I'll compare and see which one is best.
Ginny, you must be having a busy day
Have a good evening everyone

Oh, Ginny, we must have been typing at the same time. The imperfections are not bad but I do think I can do better.I'm sorry to hear that you didn't sleep well. I didn't either.Hopefully we both get some sleep tonight although in my case there's really not anything I have to do so can sleep in or even take a nap where you are so busy most of the time you get little chance for sleeping in or napping.

Good morning,
Ruth, I hope you can get the mountains completed in a way that pleases your expectations and is not too bulky or difficult to do. Its rough when a pattern just is not providing what you want and you are trying so hard to make it look right. Did you sleep well last night? You have mentioned its hot, are your nights cool enough to make it easier to sleep?
I worked a boatload yesterday…not going to work that much today and am looking forward to being home and getting done what I really want to do.
BBL Ginny

Good morning all. Ginny I do hope you have a more leasurely day today and can get to do the things you prefer to do. I do always have a problem getting to sleep and it's not the heat that keeps me wake. I think it's just old age. You are much younger but still at an age where sleep patterns seem to change. I hope you got some good sleep last night.
It seems like a much cooler day today. I haven't been outside but inside it actually is a little chilly. I need to do some things but would prefer sitting and crocheting.
See you all later.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today and having nice weather. It's in the low 70s here today, but cloudy and a bit humid. We might get some storms later. Ginny - Hope you are having a more restful day. Ruth - Hope you get your things done. Phyl - Hope it's a bit cooler there. Sue - Hope you are well. I finished re-making 16 small (3.5 inches) 9 patch blocks, so now I'm caught up again on the Oh Say Can You Sew quilt along. I hoped to start cutting fabric for the Moda Blockheads but it took me longer to make the 9 patches than I thought it would. I see that there is another bonus block today for the Moda Blockheads and I was hoping I just had two blocks to make, now I have four to make! I hope to get them done this weekend. The hardest part is deciding on the fabrics each week. I gave in and bought some fabrics to do the Laundry Basket Quilts quilt along which is only for 9 weeks in June and July. I might not make the whole quilt, but I'll see how it goes. Here's a link to read about this quilt along: www.laundrybasketquilts.com/post/summer-mystery-quilt-2022I've been wanting to make a quilt with more of a southwestern color theme and I really liked the first group of fabrics they show in the blog so I ordered them. They didn't have the background fabric in stock yet, so I picked another background fabric that is a bit lighter. I really don't care for the "yellowy" tone on the one that they picked and I hope the one I ordered is a bit more beige. Take care everyone and have a good weekend

Hello - Hope you are all doing well today. We had a cloudy/rainy day here, but no storms, so I was glad about that. Ginny and Ruth - You know you need to buy those things and take advantage of the free offers I ordered the first group of fabrics shown on that webpage (#1 Day Trip Linen Texture Bundle), but I didn't order the background fabric shown beside the bundle, I picked a bit lighter background in the same texture fabric. I finished my 4 Moda Blockhead blocks today. I didn't do as well with the small ones this time and even the large ones I had to trim too much. I really need to work on my 1/4 inch seam since that's the main problems I have. These blocks had some really bulky intersections too, so it was hard to sew over them. I wish my camera showed the colors of my blocks better, they really are a bit richer and prettier than in the pictures. I used the bonus half square triangles from the block with the white/red/floral and made the small sawtooth star that is shown in the pictures of the blocks (first picture). Hope you all get to do some crafting today and you're having nice weather. Take care All my small blocks so far. These are the four solid color fabrics I'm using in this quilt and I'm making these small blocks in just a bone background fabric with one color fabric. All my large blocks so far, I've overlapped them to get them in the picture. I'm happy that I have a good mix of light and dark blocks at this point (12 of 36 blocks).

I Love your colors and the blocks look great to me. I have always thought that if I did quilting the quarter inch seam would be a problem for me.
We had a lot of rain earlier, a thunder storm. it got really sunny again and now it's raining again. I'm nearly finished with my first mountain section on the blanket again on this new try and they do look much better

CJ- the blocks are so pretty!it does not appear as though your quarter inch seams need work- th blocks look perfect to me! Do you have a 1/4 inch foot/ that helps me a lot.
Ruth- did you place an order with Mary maxim or Herrschenerrs?Did the rain cool things down?
I did get some batting cut and then went to board and brush with both Dds and made a pretty tray.(It was my Mother’s Day gift. So it was a fun evening and I absolutely did get some crafting in Ginny
