I hope everyone is having a good day. Yesterday I found out my neighbor that helps us and a lot of other ppl so much found that he has cancer. His situation doesn't sound good to me because although he doesn't have lung cancer he's finding it hard to breathe and is on oxygen. I'm going to make him a prayer blanket and also help them as soon as I am able to do so. His wife has MS but she is pretty much not affected much by it. They are both 72
I did the wide plain section of the snowy mountain blanket that goes between the mountain sections and now I'm working on the second mountain section. It will make it much easier and faster which will hopefully allow me to get it done soon. I think I'm going to do a little pattern revision but making some stripes of the yarn that is not used much because it's just for the mountains so each of those use very little yarn. So after this section on mts I'm going to do the wide section of the main color then two rows each of the other two colors and then another wide section of main color and then mt section again and go from there. I'll have to do a little math to really get it planned.

Hello Everyone Ginny - I'm glad you enjoyed making that tray Ruth - Sounds like you've made a lot of progress on your snowy mountain blanket. I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor's illness Phyl and Sue - Hope you are well. This morning I was able to get all the pieces cut for the blocks I'm making for this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge (green is the color). It's 9 blocks that I make each month, and the larger strip blocks. As well as getting all those cut, I also cut up the leftover green fabric scraps into 2.5 inch squares or 2.5 inch strips, and some 5 inch squares. I only had a few larger pieces that I folded and put with my fat quarters. I also put all the strips for the strip block into a plastic bag so they are ready to cut. I hope to get the 9 blocks made in the next few days and then work on the strip block. I don't want to be making that strip block on May 31st, like I did with the one on April 30th My group of 2.5 inch squares and 2.5 inch strips is really growing. I'm going to have to find some good patterns for those to use after I finish up going through the rest of the scraps this year. Hope you all get to do some crafting today and have a good day. It's warm here and sunny - the current temperature is showing at 81 degrees. Take care

CJ- I hope that you were able to stay cool and that your nights are comfortable enough so that you can sleep. Its not so bad to have hot days if the evenings are tolerable. Ok, I know you are not a fan of the scrappy look…but what about putting all those 2.5 inch squares in a bag, and just mixing them up and making a quilt simply out of them in whatever order they come out in? (I can see you cringing from here). Its something I hope to do someday, make something that is truly scrappy. Glad you got all the pieces cut for the rainbow scrap challenge. 9 blocks is a lot to make in one month and you make other blocks also. I do admire your ambition.
Ruth - I will pray for your neighbor and hope that he can be stabilized. It is so kind of you to make something for him. When I do that I try to remember to pray for that person as I go… I am sure you have this all figured out for your snowy mountain blanket, which does sound so pretty. Hope that all your plans work out well and your yarn usage is perfect. It sure is good to hear about your crocheting plans now that your internet service is more reliable.
So…..my 13 month old dishwasher is on the fritz. I spent a very good part of this afternoon trying to get through to their repair service ( I have a service contract so its covered for almost another 3 years). After all attempts on the phone, live chat, email etc….I finally reached a customer service assistant who really went above and beyond and will be getting me a service appointment when she gets back to work tomorrow.
The only crafting I did today was to touch up paint the tray I made last night (I decided to change the color of one of the flowers so it would stand out more) and to seal it with spray polyurethane. I am pretty happy with how it looks, its rustic country.
And yes tomorrow is Monday. Got a nice fire going outside and I am going to watch my show out here on the IPAD. Ginny
