I am sure you are all tucked into bed so I hope you sleep well. I was up early this morning as I had an appt. with the Dr. who will remove my cataract. She told me there are 2 types of cataracts one is the old lady cataract and the other is the young lady cataract. I have the young lady cataract. It will probably be August before I have it removed.
I did some crocheting this afternoon as I listened to my audio book. I was sleepy and almost took a nap while crocheting and listening to my book. My b/blanket is slowly getting bigger. I like the colors which makes it fun to work at. I may do a little more before I go to bed.
I have been having trouble with my back and it really hurts when I am in bed which makes it difficult to sleep.. Last night I slept fairly well as I used my heating pad. I just don't look forward to going to bed.
I used to love to work in the garden but I can't do that any more. Buyt I do enjoy this time of year.
Ginny, will you be off during the school vacation?
Ruth, I am sure the bracelets are lovely but I don't know what I would do with them. I am sure my DGDs would have loved them when they were younger.
Phyl. did you mention that you were going on a trip, where are you going to?
cj, I know you are keeping busy quilting. I hope all is well.

Just a short hello from me. I have to go back to work early today. I'm evaluating a driver before I do my afternoon route. Make I'm so sorry to hear that your back is bothering you. I'll pray for you that the pain goes away and that you find some easy healthy way to keep it less painful. Perhaps some physical therapy or chiropractor might help?
Yes I'm not working for summer vacation. And I'm looking forward to starting summer break in 27 workdays. Catch up with everyone later. Ginny

Ginny, at least it's Friday but it does sound like yet another busy day for you. Meg,these particular bracelets are really nice and could be worn by an adult easily. I'm sorry to hear that your back hurts so much. Are you still going to PT? Tonight is dd's college graduation. It's taken her a long time and while going she raised 6 kids but she made it. She never gave up. My dgd and her little family are coming from out of town for the weekend too and of course there's Mother's day on Sunday. So it will be a busy weekend. I don't know why the college has their graduation on Mother's Day weekend. I imagine a lot of people may have plans to go out of town to visit their mothers. I would have them come over here but then I'd have to clean the house so I'll just go over there a couple times instead. Today I'm going to do a few other things and then just rest

Meg, I wasn't tucked into bed but I guess I didn't come back here last night
Well I got several things done. I cleaned out two refrigerators, washed a window, cleaned the large bathroom mirror while I had the windex in my hand and washed the kitchen floor and have filled the dishpan to soak the dishes for a minute while the floor dries. we also tested our solar garden pump and it does work and is cute but it sure pumps out a lot of water fast. We just had it in a maybe 8qt bowl to test and in no time all that water was gone so we'll have to find a large container to put it in in the yard. And also we have to find a way to keep it in the middle of said container so that the water it pumps will go back into the container and not on the ground.Water evaporates here fast enough without the little fountain thingy pumping it out onto the ground too.
Now I'm going to finish the dishes and then it will be crocheting and resting for awhile
Ginny, that is one bad thing about your state is that school lasts too long each year altho here school does usually start before Labor Day and it never did back there.Actually I jusst looked up our school calendar and in the fall school will start the day after Labor day this year and school ends this year on June 6th. When my kids went, school always ended here in May and not till the end of June back in your neck of the woods. This past year school started on the thurs before LD then, of course they had a day off for LD

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - I'm wishing you and Sadie good luck with the drawing, I hope one of you wins! Ginny - I'm sure the kids get a little crazy this time of year! I'm glad you were able to get some embroidery done. Bet you can't wait for the summer break. Meg - I'm sorry to hear your back is hurting, I hope it's better soon. Sounds like your afghan is coming along. Ruth - Congratulations to your DD for getting her degree, that had to take a lot of work while raising children. That is strange to have the graduation on Mother's Day. I hope you enjoy visiting with family. I didn't do any crafting today, might do some hand quilting tonight. I went to the Dentist today for a cleaning and they replaced the crown that fell out last week. I'm hoping it stays in this time. After that I got my groceries and came home. We had rain all day yesterday and it was cloudy this morning and now the rain has started again. Supposed to rain tomorrow too. I made some Beef Barley Vegetable soup today and I'll eat that over the next two days. It's been cool here, so it sounded good to have the soup. Take care everyone!

Good evening! Ruth, congrats to your DD on her college Graduation! What a great accomplishment and a good example for her children. What is her degree in? Glad you will be able to see your family during this happy time.
CJ, the soup sounds good, especially during this cooler weather! Did you complete the big stitch piece you were working on?

Hello Ginny, Ruth cj & Phyl.
It has been a busy day. I phoned my Dr. first thing this morning and got an appt. for 10 30 a.m. I know the bones in my lower back are not good and I also have arthritis there which doesn't help. She gave me a good check up and sent a note to my PT for some more exercises. I have an appt. next week. I also went to X ray and the pharmacy. It is possible that because of the arthritis my bones have moved and are probably pinching a nerve.
I went to my Knit Wits Gp In the afternoon which was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. Now I am home for the rest of the night. I don't have any plans for tomorrow so I will wait and see how the day goes.
Ginny, thank you for your prayers. I am so glad you are getting a summer break hopefully the next 27 days pass quickly. I am not sure when Devin will get out of school but it will be soon. Then I will have to think of ways to keep him busy all summer.
Ruts. I am sure you and your DH are very proud of you DD for working so hard to reach her goal and raise children at the same time. I hope you have a great celebration. Good for you getting all that cleaning done. I wish I had that sort of energy. My house could do with a good cleaning. I've been thinking that I might pay someone to come and help me.
cj, Sorry it has been raining in your area. The beef barley soup sounds good. I love soup any time of the year.
Hi Phyl, I'm missing you again. Hope you are off having fun.

Hello all, Thank you. I conveyed all the congrats from you wonderful ladies to my dd and she was so pleased. Her degree is in Social Work. I don't know what she plans to do with it but we'll see
Meg, I had one cataract done and it was a breeze. I was amazed at how good I could see after I had it done. I'm glad to hear your doctor has sent a note to PT for back issue too and I added my prayers to Ginny's. Hiring someone to help with the housework sounds like a great idea to me.
CJ, I hope you were able to do your planned crafting this evening.
CJ, I put veggies in my barley soup also...carrots, celery, onions. peppers and some spinach flakes...the spinach sounds strange I know but it does give it a good flavor...so says my dh.
Tomorrow unless the kids and grands have plans that include us I'm going to defrost the mini fridge. It builds up a lot of ice. Maybe I'll clean my oven too.

Good morning fellow crafters and wonderful friends. I hope everyone is enjoying the day. It's nice here but the wind is blowing a little too hard. And later it will be too warm but it is nice.
I've only been knitting on dh's scarf. Haven't done anything else so far today. I think I have only about 20 more rows to go on this scarf because dh wants a very short one. He wants it just long enough to fit around his neck just to keep his neck warm..nothing hanging down. And the rows are short so it won't take long to finish. If course then, since it's knitting, there's the binding off that I'm not real great at but I might be surprised.
Since I'm making a bunch of bracelets for the grandgirls I want to make something for the boys. I don't really know what yet. I still haven't done the afgan for the oldest one but that's a big thing and I'm looking for something small. I think maybe bookmarks for the oldest who is 17. He reads a lot and key fobs maybe...but a three year old boy I'm not sure.I'll have to look online and see if I can find suggestions.

happy saturday,
Ruth, thanks for posting the picture of that adorable hat. From a quick glance I do think I can handle making it. With or without the embroidery it's adorable, was it a fairly easy project to make? Social work is one of those high burnout fields, over worked and under paid. I pray that DD finds a good position if that is what she is looking for. I am sure the Lord has a perfect job for her, let's pray that she finds that job quickly!
Meg, my mom had cataracts in both eyes, had them done 3 months apart. She was shocked at how well she could see after the Surgeries! Good thing you are getting your back checked out. Will pray that PT helps a lot and that you are able to rest in bed.
Will bbl to post about my day. Ginny

Ginny, it was a VERY easy hat to make. And you wouldn't necessarily have to follow that particular hat pattern if you think starting at the bottom of the hat is not as easy as the "normal" way of making hats. The helicopter would work on any hat. She was right in that, if you use the so called "wrong" side as the outside and do the embroidery on it that way it is easier because you have the squares to follow but I'm sure with your embroidery skills you could make it work on anything.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Glad to hear you got some more embroidery done and some gardening too. Ruth - That hat is cute, I'm sure you'll figure out something to make for you DGS. Hope it didn't get too warm today. I hope your DD will find something to use her degree for. I'm sure there is a need for Social Workers everywhere. Meg - I hope the PT will help with your back. I'm glad you had a good time at your KnitWits group. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. I haven't been able to get back to my Big Stitch quilting again, maybe this weekend. I need to get in my Sewing Room and do a little organizing, there are things piling up on my table. I also need to get the fabric and batting ready to take my class this Tuesday on using the Long Arm Machine. We're supposed to bring 2 yards of front fabic, backing fabric and batting. I spent time today going through the clothes in my closet and some I had stored away. I got several bags of clothes out to give away. It was fun to try on clothes from last year and now they are too big. That's definitely one of the satisfying things about losing weight. Take care everyone!

Today has go9ne by fast. Last evening I workrd at weaving in ends on my V stitch afghan. Now I am going to try and finish the border. DS and I went to Kohl's and Home Depot and then home. This evening I will listen to an audio book and crochet probably the b/blanket. Devin and his mom have gone off for the weekend so it is quiet here.
cj, good for you clearing out your closet that's what I need to do. My church will probably have a rummage sale in June so I could send most of the clothes there.
Ruth, I checked out the helicopter hat and it is very nice and the little boy is so very cute. I have never crocheted a cap but I have knit dozens of them. Is the little boy one of your grandchildren?
Ginny. I will be so happy to see better when I have the cataract removed. I do not see well with my left eye. I am glad it helped your mother. Ruth also mentioned having a cataract removed and had good results. So thank you both for the positive information. Thank you both for your prayers.
I wish you all a good evening.
