Just a quick hello as I get my day started.
I am hoping to hear from Lowes with a date to have my dishwasher repaired. And this am as I was going through some paperwork, I found the latest edition of my favorite magazine, which always has an adorable craft. I hope to check that out shortly.
See ya later!! And have a great day.

That just shows how poorly appliances are made nowdays. I had that fridge that last 16 months. I nver had it repaired after I read all the reviews that included ones in which the owners had their fridges catch fire. Mine I noticed got red hot in the back of the freezer compartment when it cycled. MY old fridge had last close to 30 years and my old freezer last almost 40 years and only guit working after I dropped something behind it which broke the little wires from the body of the freezer to the door.
After a LOT of rain yesterday it's bright and sunny today and a lot cooler. My dh is happy. He's like you two in disliking heat and esp heat and high humidity.
Have a good day and see you all later

Just checked my weather for this evening, and it is supposed to be a delightful low 50’s. Unfortunately Friday and Saturday are very hot- 80-90.
The sweet person from Lowes got back to me today and I have a service appointment for Friday. Hopefully they bring the right part with them and can make the repair that day.
Ruth, glad your temps have dropped some and Dh is happy.
See ya later. G

Hello Ginny - I'm glad you already have an appointment for your dishwasher repair and I hope they can fix it when they are there. I felt my eye twitch when you mentioned me using my squares for a scrappy quilt Ruth - I hope you are enjoying the nice weather day. Phyl - Hope you are doing well. Sue - Hope you are doing well. I went out this morning to do a bit of shopping. I stopped in JoAnns so I could get some more background fabric that I'm using in the Oh Say Can You Sew quilt along. I was afraid I'd run out, and I was lucky to find it. The fabric in that store is mixed up sometimes. I also bought a storage box to put my 2.5 inch squares in. I want to organize them by color. Later in the day I was able to get all the green quilt blocks made, so I just have the strip blocks to make. We had a storm come through this afternoon and I had some water coming through the ceiling in the same place/room where it did 4 years ago when I had that problem before my roof was replaced. I can tell the area where the water is getting in and it must go under the new roof and then it comes then comes through the ceiling. I was so upset since I just had this roof replaced in 2018 and I thought I would have more years to not worry about it. I've put protective covering on the floor and some containers under where the water might come in, but I don't think we're supposed to get any more rain for a few days. I'll call the roofing company in the morning and see when they can come by to check this out. From looking at my paperwork, I should still be under warranty but I really don't care if I have to pay as long as they fix the problem. I'm just kind of numb now because I have so many issues with things in this house that don't work well and I really just don't feel like I can deal with more. Take care

Oh CJ, I am so very sorry that your roof has leaked again. Almost every time it rains I think of you and your new roof. I hope they can solve the problem so that you don't have to worry about it again. In the meantime hugs. It sounds like you've done a great job already on getting your quilting materials organize. I really admire that.
Ginny, I'm glad you found someone that was willing to do their job and even go the extra mile and do hope that when they come for the appointment that they have everything they need with them to fix whatever is broken.
I did a lot of household things earlier in the day and then crocheted for awhile. I had to take a break though but am about to go back to it. I have the second section of mountains done and need to decide on whether I'm going to continue with mountains or make those plain sections I mentioned.
I was wondering if either of you have seen the kittens in a row crochet. The cats look like they're hanging on a fence looking at you. I was wondering what your thoughts are on making one of these for a man who is a serious cat lover. I'm thinking my neighbor could possibly really like it. If you think it's too feminine or more for a child I'll make a different one and put a cat applique in a corner. There is a great pattern for a c2c with cat silhouettes that would be great but I've never done a c2c graphgan and I think it would take too long since I'd have to do it with trial and error...probably mostly error .

Ruth, I did just check out the kittens in a row crochet pattern and I think it’s adorable! As you know I have cats. I don’t think it’s inappropriate for men but I would make it a more masculine colors or if you know he’s got an orange tabby and a black cat use those colors and then maybe the rest of the Afghan and brown or something that’s more of a masculine color I think it would be a lovely gift, and I hope it’s not too difficult to make. Glad you were able to get some housework done some household things and you Sorryalso found some time to crochet.
I have not seen the afghan you are making, but I think a plain section actually helps to show off the mountain section. That is my opinion for what it is worth.
CJ- that is heart breaking that you have experienced a leak. (Believe me I understand!!!) absolutely work with and put presssure on the company who did the work several years ago. I hope that whatever the solution is it can be done in a timely manner and you can relax a bit about it. I do understand, houses are a burden and a blessing. I know you are trying to resolve several issues in your home and you were not really expecting this roof to be a problem. I pray that the company responds quickly and stands by their work.
Glad you were able to get to Joanns - getting the fabric you needed and that box to organize your squares. Sorry to make your eye twitch! ha ha ha……what I do know is that I never thought I would like a scrappy quilt until I saw that really pretty one in a quilt show several years ago.
I had the same storm system come through here a few hours later- thankfully it was not too bad and other than some flowers getting knocked over everything seems to be ok out there.

Ginny, yes I would definitely make it in more masculine colors. He's had all colors of cats. I don't know what he has now. I know he had a white cat at one time. I'm thinking a brownish color and maybe gold would be a good color for at least some of the cats. I have to look at my yarn stash.Only prroblem with the pattern is there are so many ends to weave in but I probably could just carry them up the side and cover with my border. If I just make the main part one color and the cats all the same color that shouldn't be a problem. And the cats, themselves, are easy to make as they are all clusters. Thank you for your opinion.I appreciate you going to look at it and letting me know what you think. I know that when I point out the cats to him he will be really happy with it and also know that I made it esp with him in mind and in prayer because of the cats. I just hope I can get it done fairly fast as they are thinking of moving because a lower altitude might help his breathing.
I'm glad that storm didn't do any damage to you and that you didn't find any leaks in what you had repaired too.

Hello Ruth - That pattern is so cute! When I googled it and looked at the images, there were many of them done in masculine colors. I think it would be a nice gift for a cat lover Ginny - I'm glad you didn't have any damage from the storm. It's a sunny day here and I think tomorrow is supposed to be too. Hopefully any rain I get is a light rain, which might not cause a problem. But I think some flashing or something had to come loose yesterday for the water to come in. I've had stronger storms over the last few years and no problems with leaking. I'm waiting to hear back from the roofers to get an appointment with someone to look at it. Thanks for your concern and support. I cut up all my green scraps for the strip blocks and had enough for 7 blocks. I've also arranged them in the order I want to sew the rows, so I just need to sit and do some sewing. I hope to get them done soon. Hope you are all doing well, having nice weather, and getting to do some crafting

thank you CJ, I also saw some made with masculine colors. They were great. And with this blanket it will show him that we thought of him personally while choosing what blanket to make. I should make something for his wife too as I'm sure she's as devastated by this as he is.
It sounds like you had a perfect amount of green scraps. Nine blocks sounds like a lot of 2 1/2 inch squares and strips. I hope you hear from the roofing company soon and they get there in a timely manner and get things fixed. It sounds to me also that it much be flashing problem.
I've crocheted most of the day today trying to get this done within my time frame.
