Hello Everyone Phyl - I checked out those quilt blocks, that is an interesting quilt when it's all put together. I'm glad you've been able to get your blocks done. Ruth - Hope you enjoy making that blanket for your friend, let us know what color yarn you choose. Ginny - I hope you enjoyed the time with the grandkids and I'm glad you've had a few good nights sleep. Sue - Hope you are well. I haven't heard from the roofers yet, this is the same way it was 4 years ago. I'll give them until Friday morning and then I'll call them back and see what's going on. We're supposed to get some rain this evening, so hopefully I don't get any (or too much) water in the house. I have protective coverings on the floor and buckets under the places where the rain came in the last time. I was able to get my green strip blocks done, so I'm all caught up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge for this month. I also made the two Moda Blockheads block this morning, it was an easy one. And even though I said I wasn't going to start another project, I wanted to try out a pattern before I made it larger or smaller. It's the Moda Love pattern and it comes in 3 sizes, I made the medium size which measures at 32x32. I just used two fabrics - purple and a white/purple polka dot. It's a quick pattern to put together and probably even quicker using a charm pack or a layer cake - I cut my yardage. Hope you all get to do some crafting today. Take care

I love all those blocks but the purple is my favorite. We had LOTS of rain today so I hope this doesn't go to your area.

Ruth- go to PBS kids.org for the slime recipe. I found colored Elmer’s glue at dollar tree - so that eliminated the need for food coloring. Then all you need is powdered borax and water. SO easy and the kids do love it.
I am heading to a friends house to help her take the cover off the pool. (Its really a 3 person job). But first let me see if Ican find that web site Phyl mentioned.

thank you, Phyl. I should have known to leaver the .com off. That block 22 is an amazing block. I like the other also but 22 is my favorite of the two
CJ, I think we must have been typing at the same time. Thank you for the links. Yes I remember the flip flop table runner. It is another of your winners

IndeedCJ-thanks or providing the links for the quilting blog Phyl is quilting from. I really like the colorful fabrics she used and the almost random look of the quilt.
Honestly,I have no preference for either block but think the quilt is interesting

Just curious, and am unsure why my keyboard seems fine now, but earlier was giving me a headache.
CJ- so glad you got the binding on the flip flop table runner. Are you keeping that pretty project for your own personal use?
Phyl hope you were able to accomplish something today and break away from the computer. It can really be such a time hog.
Ruth- did you figure out how you were going to make that mountains afghan? I know you were trying to decide if you would simplify the pattern or not.
Allergies are kicking me. I am tired….hope that tomorrow is a peaceful day and I can get some housework done and quilting time in. G

Phyl, I hope your gums are not too sore and heal fast. Regarding your computer time, well I have the same problem. I could crochet a lot more and get a llot more things made if I wasn't on the computer so much. Most of it is looking at crochet project and collecting patterns which I need like a hole in the head...
Ginny, I'm coming along on the snowy mt blanket. I decided on sections of each color I'm using then repeat going the opposite way in positioning the colors and now am up to the last mountain section which is 30 rows... 7 rows for each mountain section and 8 rows after each each mountain section then comes the weaving in and the border.

Hello Everyone Ginny - Hope your allergies are better today. Phyl - Hope you are feeling better and continue to improve each day. Ruth - Glad to hear your are making progress on your blanket. Sue - Hope you are well. It's very hot here - in the 90s and supposed to be that way all weekend - yuck! I have the blinds and curtains covering the windows to hopefully keep some of the heat out. I went to a quilt show yesterday with my DSIL. It was the first one we went to since 2019. This one was held at a church and everyone was required to wear masks, so that was nice. There were so many beautiful quilts - I'm always amazed at the talent of quilters. They had a few vendors and I bought some yardage and a few panels. After the quilt show we stopped at a local farm and I bought some fresh strawberries. I'm freezing some of them and then eating the rest of them while they are still fresh. They taste so much better fresh than those we buy in the store. I'm hoping to work on my hand quilting project this weekend, I really want to get it done this month. Hope you are all having nice weather and getting to do some crafting. Have a good weekend

Good evening, It looks like my keyboard is behaving so that is a good thing/
CJ- so glad to hear that you got to a quilt show with your DSIL! I know, it seems like forever since we have been able to attend quilt shows…although I have been to 2 smaller ones in the past 6 months. Got news about 2 weeks ago that the big quilt show in my area is being

Scheduled for the fall, and I am looking forward to attending. What did you see that inspired you? Sorry I split my post, but my silly cat stepped on the keyboard and it was just easier to add on a new post. Did you ever hear from the roofer?? I am sorry to hear about the hot temps (they visit me tomorrow). Glad you got some yummy local strawberries. Was there any rhubarb at the farmers market?? What kind of fabric did you get, and panels? You did not really think I would let you get away with getting new supplies without asking did you?? Sounds like a good weekend to do some handquilting, and I hope you get all the quilting done this month that you set as a goal for yourself.
Ruth, you have decided to separate the mountains by color sections then? Sounds awfully pretty!!! What color scheme is the afghan and forgive me if you already told us that and I just plain forgot. Glad you are making good progress on the project.
Phyl- ouch! Praying that your gums heal quickly and that the biopsy turns out negative. I know they send everything out to be cultured in an abundance of caution. I hope you are able to stay pain free.
So, today I left work early because I thought that my dishwasher repair was today. I was able to put two and two together and contact who I thought would be doing the repair, and they had no record of my scheduled work. Another call to the service center, and then the repair service and an hour later now have a confirmed appointment for next Wednesday. I called the repair service to see that they also got the email. It looks like its all set. So I am a bit frustrated but am glad that it seems as though its all set for repair now.
Dd stopped by with DGS today, so nice to see them. I ran a few errands and got some housework done and wash, my goal is to get all that stuff done so that tomorrow when it is super hot,I can sew and work on my bible study lesson (I am teaching Monday night). Think I will attempt to work in the vegetable garden in the early am before it gets too hot. Got a lot of plants that can go in. And it looks like I have lettuce ready to pick.
off to wash the dishes …then maybe I can get a few more blocks sewn. Ginny
