Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Another Monday- here we go!
CJ- I hope that you are successful at getting the attention of a roofer to investigate, what we all hope is a minor repair. My area is in for a week of pleasant weather- not hot enough for air conditioning, and it would be great if that were also true for you. This must be so frustrating and annoying for you. Good to hear that you got to work on that single block. Yikes- 88 1 1/2 inch squares and a lot of flying geese!Do you have a special flying geese ruler? They do make it much easier.
What a difference a day makes. The temperature here today is pleasant, no need for AC, for which I am thankful.
BBL Ginny

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Hope you were able to get back into your IPad. It's a lot cooler here so I have the windows open, hopefully to get a lot of the heat out of the house. We had some heavy rain go through last night and I did get water again through my ceiling. It went into the buckets I had set up, and I've covered the floor well. I do worry about the ceiling though. I still haven't heard from the roofing company, and I think I need to call some others and see if I can get someone from one of them out to look at my roof. We're getting more rain tonight and tomorrow, but if it's not heavy it might not coming into the house. It's scary how we are following on the internet. After I was searching for some roofing companies I went on YouTube to watch a video and the ads on there are now for roofing companies! It's creepy. I finished using up the rest of that fabric I'd pressed for that small sample quilt and I also cut out all the pieces for the small quilt that is for the quilt along (the one that I received the free fabric for that is red, blue and cream). I was just one small piece short on one of the cuts of fabric I received, but there was a bit left over another fabric that I'm going to use instead. I can't complain, since the fabric was free. I'll start working on those flying geese units this week and might end up just making the quilt before the quilt along finishes. I have so many quilt alongs coming up in June, I really need to have this one finished. It's only 15x15, so it shouldn't take too long. Hope you are all getting to do some crafting too. Take care

Good afternoon Ladies. Yes another week is here
Ginny, I'm glad to hear that your a/c problems are resolved so that when the hot weather comes back you'll be able to stay cool.
CJ, yes a similar thing happened to me on the net. I was shocked to find that facebook had now posted threads that were about the company I had dealt with in email!
I was out earlly in the morning doing errands. That cardinal that keeps slamming himself against our window woke dh up about 4:30 am and each time he thought the bird was goine it came back. We did get a lot of things done that we needed to get done. Now I'm doing a little cooking and right now taking a break. In a few I might start crocheting
Have a great evening everyone!

Cooler temps here today. As I am on my phone I will have to respond to each of you in a separate reply

Phyl, I'm glad you got plants that you like They sound very pretty
Ginny, I hope that your ipad starts to work as it should
CJ I hope you're having a good day and doing something you enjoy
Well I think I finally got all the ends woven in. Now I need to start the border. I think, Ginny, that you asked about the colors. Well my dgd absolutely loves pink so the main body of the blanket is RHSS in Petal pink which is a lighter pink, I don't remember what the bright pink is called and then white for the snow. I used up all my lighter pink yarn so I'll have to use the bright pink for the border and will alternate that with white to tone down the color a little.

Its going to take me a few days to get this IPAd back sort of to where it was before. I finally got the keyboard to connect, and am slowly downloading the apps I use.
Phyl, that is the one huge frustration about some quilt designs, they sell pricey templates or tools making the process a bunch more complicated.Hope you have a good time at guild and can get the patterns that you want.
Ruth, that is a pretty and delicate color of pink. Good for you getting the ends woven in, which can be such a tedious job. It sounds like such a pretty afghan.
CJ- any luck reaching a roofer? And do I dare even ask how many quilt alongs you are going to participate in in June??
Speaking of quilts, this weekend I have to make my blocks for the PMQ- the fabric is here and I have not done a thing. I heard that the weather is supposed to be stormy,so it will be a good time to do that.

GOOD MORNING,
LAST NIGHT GUILD MEETING WAS FUN,ALSO THE SPEAKER TELLING US ABOUT STAIN GLASS QUILTING WAS VERY GOOD. LOTS OF LITTLE THINGS TO THINK ABOUT.
LOOKS LIKE HER DIRECTIONS SHEETS ARE VERY GOOD ,AND THEY ARE IN COLOR.
I walked away not buying anything, now I WISH I had. her kits were $47 and 50.00 ,only thing I would have had to buy would be the special twin needle..
I did learn when you use a twin needle you can not privot your fabric,I HAVE NEVER USE A TWIN NEEDLE.
I DID ORDER ANOTHER STRIPOLOGY RULER.
NEED TO GET SOMETHING DONE TODAY,HAVE A NICE DAY. PHYL

Hello Phyl - I'm glad you enjoyed the guild meeting last night and the speaker was good. Ginny - I'm happy that your IPad is working again. You made me count my projects I have 4 monthly projects ongoing right now - most will end up in the early Fall. There are 2 quilt alongs I hope to start in June - they only run through the summer. And Pat Sloan has another longer one starting this summer but I'm not sure I can do that one. It's another big size quilt, patterns are based on her new tabletopper book. Ruth - I hope you have been able to start on the border of your project, the pink yarn sounds pretty. Sue - Hope you are doing well. I went out this morning to run a bunch of errands, so I haven't done any quilting. Yesterday I did get quite a bit done on the Remembering Betsy quilt and hope to get it finished soon. The Moda Blockheads block came out today and it's a nice easy maple leaf, so I hope to get those done quickly too. I haven't heard from the roofing company, it's so upsetting and frustrating. I guess I'll call them again tomorrow. We're supposed to have stronger storms on Friday, so I know that means water from the ceiling again. Someone told me they thought they say a white truck in my driveway this morning when I was out. I'm going to be really ticked off if they showed up here without calling first. I would definitely have been here if I knew they were coming. Take care

Gee CJ- that is heart breaking to think that the roofing company might have attempted to stop over without warning. Perhaps it was someone turning their truck around and not what you thought it was at all. Keep trying!!! Its sad to think that is how they treat their customers.. Glad you got some errands done and that it looks like your next blocks for both the remembering Betsy quilt and blockheads are not too difficult. Sorry I made you count projects!!Four is not too bad…actually sounds like it could be managable.
Phyl- well I learned from your twin needle lesson at guild- I have never used one or even read up on that. Glad the meeting was good- whatever prevented you from buying a kit?? Glad it was a fun class.
Got some gardening done (ugh) and also finished cutting the jelly roll for the remaining blocks. Lovely weather here today which I will enjoy as I hear that the weekend might be stormy and we are in for warmer temps next week.
Hi to Ruth and Sue….hope to hear from both of you Ginny

We had company again this evening. I did some more house cleaning then I kind of wasted the rest of the time before company got here so didn't do any crocheting today. I guess talking to dgd in email about the blanket she wants me to make for her and looking it up online counts as crafting. She wants me to make her a chevron blanket. I really dislike chevrons and dislike making them but, hey, this is my grandaughter. She's ds' dd#3.She also wants the colors that were used for the one online so I'll have to see if I have any of those colors in my stash
CJ, I sure hope that truck wasn't the roofing company thinking they had an appointment with you today. They need to get with you on a time and get whatever needs fixed done and done properly.I don't really remember you mentioning the Remember Betsy quilt but I looked it up and saw that it's the one that you did the trial block for. It's so pretty.
