The latest shooting in Indiana: the gunman was shot by a (legally) gun-toting citizen. Get ready for the chorus of "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun". Even in the wild west not everyone was armed. I can't stand it. That was my reaction too when I heard the news. Change to Indiana's gun laws: "On March 21, 2022, Gov. Eric Holcomb signed HB 1296 into into law, permitting constitutional carry in Indiana. Individuals 18 years old or older not prohibited from carrying or possessing a handgun will no longer be required to obtain a license to carry a handgun. The law will go into effect on July 1, 2022."

Trump may not have arranged for Ivana's death, but he's using it to solicit donations.

But not surprised.

18 House Republicans vote no on resolution supporting Finland and Sweden joining NATO. Just, why?

Biden has COVID. The news report I read said he is only experiencing mild symptoms so far.

The House passed a bill assuring access to contraception. 96% of Republicans voted no. I suppose it will fail in the Senate. My outrage is getting worn out.

My husband was reminding me (and a friend while we were discussing this) that at some point the state of Colorado made sex education and birth control more readily available. The number of abortions in that state dropped by 50%. Those stupid Republicans don't seem to understand the concept of cause and effect.

I can't figure out if the conservatives that are anti-contraception availability are anti because Dems typically back it (and heaven forbid they be on the same side as anything Dems are), or if it's some weird religious hang up (faux christian concern strikes as per usual), or if it's the weird family values BS about abstinence unless married. Or maybe a combination of all three.

How the heck did evangelicals get so much influence in the country's politics? Trying not to cast aspersions - I'm sure some are very fine people ( ), but have you noticed that crazy people have so much more energy than the average person?

The same American Zealots who look down their noses at the Taliban and Sharia Law would be equally happy if the country were run in the exact same manner except replaced with white male faces and Christian Law.
