And of course already a mass shooting. Big surprise that it’s an angry white male of the MAGA and Qanon variety. I’m sure you’ve all read about it online.

I am going to be a poll worker in Madison where I live at my polling place. I already absent balloted for the primary in August. Russ and I are doing the morning shift 6-1;30pm. Russ is retiring in Middle September. I am getting. a well needed hair cut in August. Then Russ will be retired for the October hair cut. I have not been able to get a hair cut in a few months. But I think it will be after our primary or one day before at 5;15pm and he said yes. the hair place is near. I am doing the treadmill t 2 miles per hour. I do 3 segment of 20 minutes at .67 a segment. I am eating g4 cups of whole wheat spaghetti with half cup measure ad half a can of low fat sauce . this is what I like. I ge the 14 meals Thursday the day I shop too. I have some lettuce I may make some salads with non fat wishbone Italian. The meals I get Thursday ar barbecued chicken and potatoes of some sort an vegetables. I hope I like it because I will call them to find out the calories in the part of the dish I know the fudge round is 160 calories. I am not sure if I will eat that. I am getting 825 calories with half a package of whole wheat pasta and half a can of Del Monte tomato pasta sauce with basil and tomatoes. But having half cup portions allows to have 8 half cups. Right now I will try just 3 segments today . It is my lower back that can only take 3 segments. it has arthritis . If I can convince Anna to take me back at her agency I can go to the doctor right near where I live. I can get about 7 hours with my budget that they give for my functional screen. I will ask my wisconsin trust to pay 2 more hours. I am paying enough for one hour for about 7 months. The build of my payments the tmy trust gave me will be in August and September and a little this July this week. I bought a better fit bit coming Wednesday from Amazon a fit bit 4 which can be used in water I think. Have 6 months to pay it off but will do it in 2. I also bought 2 2023 hanging calendars from Amazon also coming Wednesday . I will pay most of that off this month and just a little more next. I really want to go back to original Medicare and long term care that way. we have public long term care in Wiscons for older people physically disabled people and developmentally disabled people. I am more apt to get original Medicare to pay for ablations in my back. But losing weight will help. I seee my bone doctor for the last time . She is retiring at the end of July. I get a bone density first and then see her afterwards. I can then get an appointment for next year with someone new she recommends. I also took the blood tests she want4ed to see of my parathyroid and calcium levels. She will interpret those too. I wonder if she will order the infusion for my bones again I got last year; I went with Scott last year .

Interesting tidbit about "choice". Our local hospital sold out to St Lukes about 5 years ago. They immediately stopped doctors from performing tubal ligation after C-sections, even if it had been planned by the woman and her doctor for months prior to birth. Actually, they stopped all women's sterilization procedures, you simply couldn't get them there any longer unless you were in a life-threatening condition that required it to save your life. It was effective immediately and there was no press about it. The doctors were not happy about it either. Men, however, can still get vasectomies. Of course. Take away a womans choice to not have children, but gee whiz, can't do that to men!

An abortion provider in Mississippi is moving her practice to New Mexico. She said that many women won't be able to travel to New Mexico for care, but at least she'll still be helping women.

I read an article about the Democratic party contributing to Trump candidates vs. moderate repubs in various states for the primaries. The thinking seems to be that the Trumpers will be easier to defeat come the actual election. I am extremely leery about this.

I am more than leary about any democrat giving money to the other side. Especially when the leader of the other side is a talk show host, a womanizer, a known liar and cheat, etc. I can't and won't vote for a Democrat that supports such a vile being. I will vote for an Independent or not vote at all if those are my choices. If you are giving money to the other side there is a name for that. It is either Republican, traitor, or stupid. Sorry, but your lame excuse for doing so is insulting, pathetic, and suspicious. We are such a weak Party. I don't think a Republican would or could even think about doing such a thing. It has been said to put your money where your mouth is. I would like to suggest you shove your money someplace else. What happened to our Party? Have we morphed into mindless fools, silly, thoughtless, and weak? I can't look. It's too painful and pathetic. Not my cup of tea anymore.

birdgal , it seems like Dems are trying in our inept way to think and act more like the GOPers, seeing as "they go low, we go high" doesn't work. I have a bad feeling about this. I did a bit more research, Pelosi-affiliated House Majority PAC is buying ads pushing the more more extreme Republican candidate versus the moderate in CA, other PACs and Democrat organizations are doing the same in CO, PA and IL. You know the old saying, when Democrats are told to form a firing squad, they get in a circle.

I'm so disgusted and disappointed. What are we doing? Trying to be friendly with the bullies? Hoping they will like us? It isn't going to work. Gone are the days of wanting and working towards a kind and gentle nation. Kind and gentle means weak and vulnerable these days. No room for that in politics now. Big, burly, mean, and strong is how to survive. I don't know if Dems can pull it off. We want to offer the other side an olive branch while they offer us a prickly branch of thorns. It's too much for me. I'm tired of fighting all the time. All the damn time. I'm with you Lani. I have a bad feeling about it too.

birdgal, my understanding is that the idea is it will be easier for a Democratic candidate to defeat a crazy Trumpster Republican candidate, rather than a moderate Republican, when the primaries are done and the final elections take place. I stole the following from another board: Happy 4th to everyone not pleading the 5th about the 6th.

Lani I think that strategy could work but only in places where you have more moderate republicans. Those intent on the brain dead Boeberts, Hershel Walkers and Taylor Greenes will still want them precisely because they can relate.
