It has been said that religion rots the brain. Not spirituality but religion. Big difference.
These are the people Thomas Jefferson was concerned about.
Look at the countries where religion (nothing more than a belief system) gets top billing. Would you like to live there? Especially if you are a woman?
Religion and politics is a dangerous and deadly combo. Thought and reason is replaced by a belief. That belief becomes law. If you don't believe you are an outcast and a traitor.
I'm more than concerned that these so called Christians, these evenagicals, have too much power and control in our government. Just like they did during the crusades.
Call me paranoid. Call me anything you want. Look at how religious zealots with power and control treated people in the past. The Crusades is a good place to start.
Are we willing to let history repeat itself? Please don't say that could never happen here. Never say never.

I agree. Orthodox Jews believe that the life of the mother is most important in a decision about abortion Judaism, I as a Jew does want to change any other religious beliefs But Jews would like to practice their beliefs in the United States which started as Secular nation as Jefferson wanted exactly. We do not have a state religion like Britian when we started the United States

In a recent speech Matt Gaetz said "women who look like a thumb" don't have to worry about abortions, the obvious implication being that they will never be impregnated because they are too ugly for any man to want to have sex with them. We all know he is totally toxic, but I believe the crowd cheered him.

Forgot to mention, United Shades of America has started a new season on CNN. Always informative and entertaining. So far the topics have been "The Woke Wars" and Black people in Appalachia. I have the third one on the DVR, haven't seen yet, can't remember what the subject is. Must see TV. I'm pretty sure the old episodes would be available On Demand.

These republican men act and sound like junior high school boys. Are they all trying to be as gross as trump? Are republican women okay with this? Do these women find this nonsense attractive? Would they vote for such immature jerks?
I'm surprised we haven't heard mine is bigger than yours yet. Does the Republican Party still exist? I mean the Party Of Lincoln Republicans. Real Republicans. Not those loyal to don trump.
Anybody know?

birdgal, In answer to your question about the Party Of Lincoln: not that I've seen. I used to vote republican, many, many years ago. I don't recognize this band of thugs that call themselves that, now. I haven't since about 2004. It seems that they've all become anti-American.

Band of thugs says it all. That's what they are. Trump knows that. That's why he changed Parties. He knew they'd welcome him, support him, and vote for him.
Thugs of a feather.
Band of thugs. So damn true!

Have you heard about Andrew Yang's third political party effort: Forward? I like it in theory; in reality I am doubtful. I don't know if it will gain any traction. I'm thinking splintering the vote would favor the Republicans.
